I bought my car here last year (nothing but problems with that- it had a flat tire the day I brought it home) I'm now trying to get my car serviced and, even if you have something brief like a tire pressure check, they REFUSE to do it without an appointment. I went to get a new key for my Accord.It had to be special ordered next day.It was $115.I went to my car and the key fit in the door perfectly.However when I went to start my car it would turn over but not start.I went back to the parts counter and the guy there told me the key would have to be programmed and it would be another $137 to do that for a total of $252.And my car would have be there. I was at a True Value in AZ and they made me a key with a chip in it for $80 in three minutes.My car was in CA when I did this. They gave me my money back but no explanation as to why they key would be so expensive. That's the only thing they did right was to give me my money back. I took my car (on a Saturday) for an oil change. I had an appointment for the service. The invoice indicates that the car went in at 12:29 and was ready at 3:03 (over 2.5 hours). They noted when I dropped the car that I will wait on the premises. The service writer indicated that he'll do his best to get it done quickly. Isn't this time excessive for a simple oil change? The type of oil that I requested was fully synthetic, however, their invoice does not indicate that oil type was used. All the vehicles that were picked up after service were washed, mine was the only car that was not washed. They washed the car in the past after the oil was changed. The service person did not place a stick or any note when the car needs the next oil change. It is not written on the invoice either. I am disappointed by the service at this location and probably won't return in the future. read more

Every time my car is in for service for audio issues, we find extra parts mostly clips to hold panels in place or missing parts or panels are not fully put in place. This results in returning to service those issues! The last time my car was in to replace the wiring harness, the back panel was not pushed into place (which they said can't be fixed it must be replaced), a clip was found, the rear seat frame was rattling. Poway Honda is currently replacing the rear seat frame and after 1.5 days the tech realizes they need a special tool they don't have for a bolt. The day before they said it was an issue with the bracket. WTH?! I just can't put words to ineptness of Poway Honda's technicians. It's been three years of constant dominoing service. Take it in for one issue to leave with 1-3 more. Stay away!!!! read more

Took my car in for regular maintenance and found that there was new damage when I picked it up. Honda did not pay for the damage or pay for a rental when it took a week to fix mine. I was cleaning my car and left my car keys outside on a table while I went into take a phone call. The call lasted about 20 minutes and during that time someone walking by stole my car keys. I was looking for a new van and after a horrible experience trying to buy from an online dealer, I decided to check brick and mortar dealerships. I searched far and wide because I am very picky about year, mileage, color, interior, etc. Well we found the perfect van down at Poway Honda. I called and spoke with Mickey to make sure it was still available. I let him know that we would come get the car but were in a pretty big time crunch and needed the car the next day. We live in Northern Ca and Mickey did the legwork to make sure everything was in order for us. My Son was in the market to lease a new vehicle so his triplets can ride in safety and comfort (and pack everything child related with plenty of space to spare). They settled on a Honda Pilot, so while he was at work, I started contacting various Honda dealers around Southern California. Every dealership responded eventually, but the response I got from Gary Lobel at Poway Honda was not only prompt, but he graciously kept the conversation going (as I had plenty of questions) via email, even though he was swamped. Gary was awesome and not only shot me a great deal (and I mean no other dealership could/would touch that price) he gave me all the details and pricing information via email. And during Covid-19, that is invaluable. We had this fantastic deal negotiated before we even got to Poway Honda to look at the Pilot. Gary was detailing the Pilot model my Son wanted as we arrived to finalize everything the next day. From checking out the Pilot, to signing everything (special shout out to Andre Allen - Finance Manager, who was incredible) to receiving instructions on the features of the Pilot, we were in and out of the Poway Honda in about two hours! After what my family and I just had to endure at Poway Honda, it's definitely making me reconsider my decision of wanting to purchase a Honda as my first car. After an hour or so of looking and finding the perfect car, my parents and I decided we'd make an offer (to begin the negotiating process) of $26,000 on a car priced at around $29,000. Now instead of giving us a simple, "I'm sorry we can't do this" or a counteroffer, Rajesh decides that it was a good idea to reply with an analogy completely irrelevant to the situation. He responded with "Imagine I go into your bakery and for a $3.00 slice of cake, I offer 50 cents. Would you take it?" Then he proceeds to take me inside to show me invoices of the cars I'm searching for all while lecturing me on how businesses work and how to make a profit... Now, first of all, I came here to purchase a car. NOT to be lectured on how businesses work. Second of all, his analogy was way out of the boundaries. We didn't come in and offer $5,000 for the $30,000 car... Also, after we looked at invoices for the car, Rajesh decided it was a good idea to go back outside and start explaining to my parents (who are business owners) on how businesses work. This is for their service department. Full disclosure, I dread going to dealerships for service. I needed my CVT transmission flushed in my 2018 Accord and my usual mechanic couldn't do it so I took it to Poway Honda. I scheduled my appointment online, Stefan helped me get that sorted out via chat. Very easy, got a Saturday morning appointment that I wanted and I said I'd drop the car off. Brought the car in and I was about 15 minutes early. A few people said someone would be with me and I said "No worries I'm early" A couple of minutes before my appointment time Avery came out to help me and she was great. Pricing was what I expected and she said it would be 90 minutes so I just stayed in the lounge. Two hours later Irene let me know my car was ready. She explained everything and walked me to the cashier and called to have my car brought up. Done, so easy! My experiences with *other* dealerships for service have been nightmares. Waiting for 30 minutes just to get someone to say "Hi", going in twice in a couple of weeks and the second time they tell me there are all kinds of things that need to be done to my car. Why didn't they find all these things the first time? Poway Honda wasn't like that at all. They said the one thing I should look into is getting a new battery, they offered to do it but I said I'd handle it on my own. My usual mechanic told me that too. We had a great experience with Mickey in sales when we came in to buy a 2019 Odyssey. They had the van priced competitively online (to the point that I wondered if the price was not legitimate). Mickey was able to answer all our questions, stayed out of the way for us to get familiar with the vehicle ourselves, and offered a fair price without jerking us around with bogus fees. Very smooth experience and we are satisfied! Honda asked be to do the safety recall service. They said they were going to offer me a rental car since it's their car's problem. But when I confirm same day. They change the schedule time. Never sent me confirmation before. They don't give me the rental car . Over the phone . They kept saying it's 1-2 hours service. But now , the engineers told me , it's 2-3 hours at least. Car Buying: I have overall mixed feelings about purchasing a car from here. I've purchased negotiated a couple used car purchases for family. Buying any car at a dealership is never fun but both of these used car instances were pretty normal and the sales person was civil. We got through the negotiation process after jumping through all the standard hoops and landed on a price we were comfortable with. On the flip side, buying a new car wasn't so great. I tried to buy a new Civic Type R here. Granted I know it's a difficult car to purchase in general but I had a really terrible experience with Niki. We had talked and coordinated for weeks and we were tracking the car's arrival to the dealership. She had promised to inform me as soon as the car arrived so I could come over and finalize the purchase. However, in the end she didn't give me a call the day the car actually arrived and it ended up being sold to someone else. Overall, the whole ordeal was a complete waste of time. I ended up just going further to Chula Vista Honda and purchasing the exact same car there. Service: My experience with the service department is pretty limited as I've only been there for warranty and recall work. They everything turned out fine and it was refreshing the advisers didn't try to sell me on any other services I didn't need. Parts: I buy a lot of parts throughout the year for multiple Hondas so I see Chris and the parts counter a lot. I really like how they're integrated into the Honda estore system so you can select and purchase the parts online and then go pick them up in store. It makes things a lot easier and saves you from making an extra trip when it's a special order part. I do think that when your order is ready for pickup, it would be way better if they could send you an email. For those other times when I do need someone's help, Chris is always super knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. read more

I have been taking my car to Poway Honda for maintenance since I purchased it in 2015 and my most recent visit a few weekends ago was the best experience thus far. In the past I have been frustrated due to the way appointments were handled. If I chose to leave the dealership while my car was being worked on, my car was put in the queue behind those who chose to stay onsite, despite my appointment time. This is, of course, ridiculous as we make appointments for a reason, but I did learn my lesson and decided to start waiting in the lobby for my car. Two times in a row, I waited 3.5 hours or more (crazy, right!?), in spite of the 2 hour wait time I was initially told. This last time however, I worked with a completely different service advisor and my car was ready in 2 hours on the dot. I actually left the dealership in a good mood and with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of my Saturday. This was my last try before switching to the Honda in Kearny Mesa, so Poway Honda has earned themselves another maintenance day with me. read more

They're support since closing the deal/purchase has been non responsive and lacking any sense of urgency for the liability this is putting us in. Ie. But what's causing this 2 stars review is that my tire valve cap is missing after service and now my tire pressure low warning is on while I am on my way home.
