First, in regards to the negative reviews, this practice is not currently accepting new patients,…read moreso clearly a 1 or 2 star rating is not shared by too many people. I've had a hard time sticking with a PCP that I liked but Dr Quintero is one of the best. She actually listens, and even though she's very busy, she doesn't rush me through my concerns. I was once told I had "too many symptoms" by another doctor. Dr Quintero noted each one and let me know if she thought they were linked or separate issues. She doesn't hesitate to run tests or give referrals. Her schedule is usually pretty full so scheduling a non-urgent appointment can take quite a while. However, time sensitive follow-ups and urgent issues are given priority. I've been able to come in the same or next day when I've had health issues that needed to be addressed. She uses MyChart plus to respond quickly to questions and follow up on blood work. I've always found the receptionists, nurses and other staff to be very friendly and competent. I'm not ignored when I approach the counter, my questions are answered, they aren't annoyed when trying to schedule my appointments around my other obligations. The office is clean, my wait time to see the doctor is shorter than most, but if it's going to be longer they let me know. The few times I was running late, they didn't give me a hard time about it like other places would. I've been coming here for over 3 years now, had many appointments for health issues, and have never had any problems at all.

This is specicfally about the office manager at 385 west main st Avon. The staff at this address,…read moreregardless of what doctor i am seeing, have been professional and caring. The doctors have been wonderful, specifically Drs Sapenfield and Dr Duckworth. The office manager, her name to be C, is awful. She is a selfish rude bully who threatened me. C feels it is appropriate to have a zoom meeting with the office staff right at the front desk. C does not want the staff meeting interrupted. She wants all incoming and out going patients to wait in line till she finishes the zoom staff meeting. At the front desk. Not in a back room where it is quiet and private. Not where staff can concentrate without interruption. There is no sign at the window saying "please have a seat we will be right with you to sign out". THAT would have shown respect for the patient Instead staff are so intimidated they do not even look up at the patient standing right in front of them. Ignored. For all I knew they were watching youtube and could have paused the screen. They stare at the computer screen afraid to even blink. Body language tells it all. No one acknowledged my presence because the manager was holding a zoom meeting in the lobby and the staff are afraid. They are afraid to take their eyes off the screen for a second to acknowledge the customer. The manager is more important than the patient. THE PRIORITY IS MANAGEMENT AT HHC. The staff are Healthcare Zombies. Led by Healthcare Tyrants. When I said i want to check out I was ignored and triggered. They showed NO RESPECT TO ME. When I spoke up louder C could be heard saying she did not know who was talking.."and anyway I don't think I will be coming to your site any time soon...." and a lot of hesitating in. UMmms and aws. A couple of repetitions. She sounded bored. I should not have heard any of that C treated me like I was a subordinate of no value. "who's talking" she wanted to know. Its me, a patient and I want to g home. She clearly heard me and clearly ignored me! Cs staff meeting in the lobby was much more important than the old sick woman who wanted to go home. She ignored me and continued on with her zoom meeting. I had to lean towards the computer zoom meeting, right at the check out window, and tell her it was inappropriate to be having a zoom meeting at the check out window and she was holding up progress, particularly me. She wanted to go on with her meeting. And she could have. IF it was held at an appropriate time and place. IF there was even the simplest of signs asking for cooperation. Because IF THERE WAS RESPECT FOR THE PATIENT there would have been some recognition, maybe a sign at the window, we apologize for the delay please have a seat, or a nod from the staff asking us to wait, something, anything. But the way C chooses to lead is to have the fearful staff and herself ignore the patient standing right in front of them. C refused to give her last name or that of her boss. She refused to give contact info for a complaint. C you need to have a long talk with your mother. And if she is not available you call me and we will have a badly needed heart to heart. C retaliated in a situation where I had no option but to acquiesce. She made it clear she wanted and would retaliate at a higher level. Healthcare retaliation. Shame on you, C, Shame on HHC. I remember when the patient was the priority, not the manager with the sleepy voice tones who is saying nothing but over and over again, to the staff, i won't be coming to your site, and describes how busy she is, while sighing Hartford Healthcare has become a monster and staff, particularly management, feels that respect is a one way street. The superiority this manager and many hhc managers feel is not valid. It is hateful. It is an I don't care if you die" attitude. Someday i will update this towrite more. today i am too sick. I remember when the patient was the priority. That is not true at Hartford healthcare. Hartford Healthcare motto should be "We don't care about you." "Bark like a dog" "Respect is a one way street" '' WE are proudly the priority"

I have had a few appointments over the years. I'm going to change to a different primary care…read moreprofessional. Without an actual doctor there, it's more or less amateur hour. The PA is ok, but nothing special. Some of her science is out of date, but for a quick checkup, she's probably fine. The office staff is rude and disorganized, and I am not planning to return, let alone follow through with an appointment scheduled without my permission or consent. There are many medical professionals in the area, and I suggest finding someone different

The first thing I must say is Teresa Keddy the nurse practitioner is wonderful. Sadly, the office…read morestaff is horrible, condescending and unprofessional . Due to these issues, I finally decided to change providers. No one is on the same page, making the problems continue without improvement. After requesting to speak with Teresa, her staff told me she doesn't speak to patients on the phone. I was told to make an appointment if my concerns were so important. I requested to speak with a manager, I was told the same thing. Other issues have been going on. If the staff doesn't want to continue a conversation or if they are unable to understand a request, they park the call with the hopes that Patients will hang up. Several times they have claimed prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy when in fact they were not. I requested written prescriptions so I could drop them off myself but was told Teresa doesn't write out prescriptions. She does, I have gotten them from her. My question is, what do they actually do? It's disheartening to see a wonderful practitioner have her reputation marred by her office staff.

I am looking for functional doctor so I was referred here from my boss who has seen these…read moreindividuals herself. I have only made it as far as to have a telehealth visit with Dr. Mary Ann. On the day I have the visit, I had to reschedule from an earlier time to a later time, so I was able to get in contact with Jessica at the front desk, who was very very professional and friendly btw! I am rescheduled for a later date and the Doctor who I was to see via telehealth had never called me so I called Jessica again and she was very prompt at getting the Doctor on the phone with me. The doctor either wasn't notified but the first thing she said was "well you cancelled you're appointment"....a little on the unprofessional side for me, because I didn't get a "Hello", "Sorry about the mix up" , nothing. So I know I'm not going to get far in this visit because you have to pay for these things but I was expecting just a little more. I told her my concerns and the first thing she ran down was the price...It made me feel like she was deterring me. I was really looking for what were their potential plans of action just baseline for their patients. All in all I wouldn't proceed just on the tone of the first telehealth visit.

I am prefacing this review by acknowledging that I have not seen this physician. However, the way…read moremy appointment was handled today was a serious insult and joke. Therefore, I can only persuade new patients to avoid this office. I called the Hartford Healthcare line to get an appointment in Avon. Honestly, I didn't care who the appt was with. I am not feeling the greatest and being new to the area, I was hoping to be seen and then establish a primary care doctor. I was scheduled with this doctor. Again, I would like to mention that I am unwell with obvious symptoms. I show up for my appt 15 mins early. All my personal information is gouged out of me. My insurance card is run and copay is paid. The nurse even calls me in. But then I am told that since this doctor is not currently accepting new patients I cannot be seen. So again, this is a sick patient who came all the way in with a legitimate appointment and was turned away due to their admin error. The office did not even have the decency to let the doctor see me based on my illness. Of course I am livid and will recommend no one to come here. Primary care physicians are plenty and being treated like this as a sick patient is a violation of your oath not to mention human decency. Totally not worth the effort for just a family practitioner.
