I have had chronic pain since 2006 between my neck, back, knee, foot, and recently tendinitis in my hand for almost 2 years, I have done regular PT and even tried getting a Cortisone shot to release my pain. However, it lasted 2 months and the pain was back even worst then before. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several months ago and recently was advised to try Aquatic therapy since the pool is 93 degrees. My first visit was beyond compassionate for my pain. I was given several laminated pool exercises after my treatment was completed. Within 3 months of going to the pool 3 times per week-1 hour each time. Not only did my pain in my hand went from a level 9 to 2. I was then able to strengthen my other joints since the water has less poundings on my joints. It was like a healing miracle happened. I am feeling so much stronger not just in my joints but in my mindset as well. Anyone who hasn't had a great experience with this hospital, perhaps you didn't give it a fair chance. I wanted to live my life without as much pain so I can. I did what was advised even when I didn't want to go I went always. I talk to everyone I can about this hospital. I love their logo.... "We rebuild lives" that's just what they did for me. So please don't lose hope where there is breath there is hope. Angela C. from Southington

Our grandson was a patient at HFSC a little over a year ago, discharged with promises of follow up and NOTHING. He has been hospitalized three more times for the same challenges, never again accepted at HFSC and the outpatient day program which has been promised, then slow rolled with delay excuses which made little sense and now after an 8 week wait that was supposed to be 3 we shall see how it will go. His challenges far exceed a clipboard and stickers for treatment but that's all he's gotten so far.

I appreciated his willingness to be helpful. He told me to have an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound at another hospital, and the result was sent to his office. I called the office yesterday and asked about the result of the ultrasound. I was asking to speak with the doctor directly, but I was not able to. A receptionist over the phone stated she talked to the doctor, and the result was "indeterminate." I asked her to explain what that means. She stated, "It means we don't know what the heck is wrong with you." Then I asked what else the doctor found in the result. She stated there is nothing she can say. I was disappointed that she was not willing to help me speak with the doctor directly regarding my test results. I called the hospital today again about some concerns that I had. A receptionist became irritated, and stated "The doctor has nothing to talk to you about that." I asserted the importance of speaking with my doctor. She did not listen. She became more irritated and insisted that the doctor does not need to speak to me. She finally stated she would let the doctor know about my call. However, she was very unhelpful and unwilling to assist me. When I explained to her the importance of this matter, she simply hung up while I was still speaking. I felt mistreated and disrespected by her rude and unprofessional behavior. My hope is the doctor is informed about this inappropriate and unjust behavior of his receptionist(s) and he can take appropriate actions to rectify this. As a patient, I have a right to speak with my doctor.

They are kind and compassionate and truly care about their patients. That is the difference between them and other practices. I have a physician for life who I can call and he will see me without an appointment. Plus, Dr. John is a leading practitioner in his field, highly educated, and has a particular skill of identifying what is wrong and the best way to treat it. Their dedicated shows every single time I go there. I read another review where someone was complaining about having to pay for more than a physical. Every doctor charges for their services as they too run a business Dr. John's fees are not only reasonable, but they submit the insurance claims for you! Just the most polite staff and they all are bilingual too! If you are looking for a top notch doctor that cares about you and you can trust your health to, I can't think of any other place to go. What a contrast to so many other practices where you feel like a cattle being rushed in and out for a quick buck and are just a number. I myself don't shop for a doctor like I would shop for a commodity. I chose a doctor because they are the best in the field. Clearly, Dr. John and Southington Family Medical fit that expectation - well above and beyond it. Make them your family practitioner for life. Your will be so glad you did it. They are simply the best!

He has exceptional knowledge & credentials, as well as a wonderful bedside manner. He will take the time to answer any and all questions. Both his office staff and surgery center team work efficiently to make sure the patient is informed and comfortable. They are kind and considerate throughout the whole process. My surgery went very well and the care I received at the surgery center was amazing. I went home the same day and was literally walking without any device just 4 days later. Of course there was the normal healing needed over a few weeks, but overall, even I was shocked how quickly I was up and about. They are so good about checking in, providing step by step instructions, both before and after, so I never felt lost or confused. I am finally walking without pain for the first time in a very long time. From start to finish, I was extremely satisfied. Highly recommend.
