My husband followed Dr. Dugdale's orders on recovery ( which Dr. said was absolutely necessary for positive outcome) and has regained full use of that arm. My husband fell and hurt his other shoulder. For that particular injury, Dr. Dugdale did not recommend surgery, but PT instead. My husband did the PT at appmts/home and has regained full usage of that shoulder/arm as well. I too have full usage of my knee as a result of the surgery. Dr.Dugdale is an excellent surgeon and really knows his stuff. I wouldn't have any orthopedic surgery done without consulting with him first getting his recommendation and if deemed necessary then would request him to do the surgery.

Dr. Dugdale suggested…read morethat arthroscopic surgery was optional but, since I had a planned vacation which involved a lot of walking three months later, I elected to have the surgery. What the X-Ray (and radiologist's report) said was that I also had mild arthritis. And the surgery had a risk of inflaming the arthritis. I don't recall Dr. Dugdale mentioning that risk, all I recall was a generic list that would apply to any surgery. But, regardless, following the surgery, I was in constant pain well beyond the expected recovery period and DR. Dugdale decided it wasn't an orthopedic problem and sent me back to my primary care physician. I eventually went to a different orthopedist (in a different practice) who ordered a new MRI and found the arthritis had, indeed, flared up. The reason I won't return to Dugdale again is the way I was dismissed as not having an orthopedic problem when, indeed, I did - and not one that was difficult to diagnose or particularly unlikely under those conditions, if he'd taken the time. I hobbled through vacation, as a result.

With regard to use, he had done a higher amount of robotic-assisted total knee surgery when his practice was reviewed in CT around 2020. The list of doctors offering this type of surgery is low in most areas in the state. Many doctors that are considered the best in orthopedic sports medicine do not use it in their practice and have no knowledge of its remarkable advantage for their patients' surgical outcome and recovery time. Many patients can literally walk out of surgery centers unassisted. I encountered this experience and had a very short physical therapy experience. My physical therapist told me on my first evaluation visit that I would likely need a very abbreviated program. I achieved the recommended flexion and extension requirements of my artificial knee joint in record time and without incident. Starling Physicians in New Britain appears to have attracted other specialized orthopedic surgeons as well. I recommend Dr Belniak for robotic-assisted joint replacement without reservation. Doctors in his category may be difficult to make surgical plans with due to popularity spread so widely in many forms of media. To me, I wouldn't hesitate putting him first on your list to reach out to perform your surgery. The doctor's office, from the X-ray technician to the APRN, are all very qualified and wonderful personalities for patients coming in with pain and the hope of getting well.

Of course there was the normal healing needed over a few weeks, but overall, even I was shocked how quickly I was up and about. They are so good about checking in, providing step by step instructions, both before and after, so I never felt lost or confused. We arrived at 4:30 due to my work hours and they closed at five. It must've been the right timing because we were out by 503 complete with a sling, x-rays and a diagnosis. From the front desk, to the nurse, to the x-ray tech, to the physicians assistant everyone was really friendly despite the fact that we were there right before they closed. We would absolutely recommend their urgent care ortho services bypassing a traditional urgent care. They are experts in bone injuries and get the job done right!
