They are so good about checking in, providing step by step instructions, both before and after, so I never felt lost or confused. The doctor (maybe was a PA) was detailed and thorough, not at all rushed. Very comprehensive. She took a holistic approach in addition to (not instead of) traditional treatment. She got me a brace right away with no delay due to insurance. I had gone to a different orthopedic urgent care in Rocky Hill 2 to 3 years ago for a similar injury, and that place didn't even get me a brace. They (the other place) said they had to wait for insurance approval. They never got the approval. Here they got me the brace right away, and called in my prescriptions right away, which seem to be very helpful. She (the PA) gave me some additional recommendations and important advice. I seem to be getting much better. I don't remember the doctor's name, but the prescription bottles say M Wiggins.

It took me over 45 minutes to see a doctor for a morning appointment. The waiting room was getting pretty packed by the time I got into a room, too. However, I really like Chris Dillon, a PA there. He is gentle and thorough and takes the time to answer all your questions. I've had to follow-up on some claims not being sent to the correct address, but so far, they have been very responsive.

I called the office and told them about the issue, verifying my birthdate for them. The next day they called and said they had fixed the problem and to try again. I did, but the problem remained. So, the day of my appointment I arrived 25 minutes early to fill in the paperwork. I then proceeded to wait for my 10:30 appointment. At about 11:00 I was taken into an exam room and told the doctor was finishing up with his last patient and would be in shortly. And so I waited some more. After waiting for more than a full hour, I decided that we could no longer wait. I informed the staff we were leaving and asked them for my copay to be returned. At that point, I was told (again) that the doctor was finishing up and could see me soon. No thank you! I understand that "emergencies" can come up during the day's appointments, but I have decided that my time is as important as any doctor's time, and I will not wait for longer than an hour to see anyone. So doctors, fix your scheduling systems, and do what it takes to show your patients that you value them and their time. As an addendum, I was waiting with my husband, who runs his own engineering firm, and if he were to show up over an hour late for his appointments with clients, that would be a complete lack of professionalism. They may have great doctors at The Hand Center, but they are not the only game in town. I now have an appointment with another highly regarded orthopedic practice.

That was 14 years ago. I've had stem cell, prolotherapy, prolozone, and visco treatments on both knees and back and still running, tennis, and triathlons in my late 60's. Hands down, the best doctor I've ever had. Treatments are basically painless and stress free. Appointments are never rushed, and Dr T always has new suggestions. The office staff is wonderful. It's a shame that insurance won't cover the treatments (no $$$ for insurance/drug companies) but I'd rather spend my money on treatments that actually work.
