This I underwent and as was promised, I encountered zero pain while having this casing in place for three months. Now in 2014, that foot still is in great shape and he was able to offer me the quality of life that all would expect. Because of this experience, I found myself here again to address a different issue that has now required the use of orthotics for my shoes. Dr martone is one of the best in the area and would hands down recommend him for any foot related issues.

She's a great doctor and I couldn't recommend her enough. From the moment I walked in, I was treated by the service desk with kindness and respect. I was the last patient of the day but you would have thought they were waiting for me all day. Clearly, the employees are treated well and this must be a great place to work if everyone was this engaged. I came in with a year of severe heel pain and was awaiting the worst. Dr. Vander Poel came in and could not have had a better bedside manner. She quickly found what was wrong and it was a simple solution involving exercises and stretching. Following her direction, I was pain free in two days! I feel 10 years younger. If you have foot pain, come here. If you have to drive from elsewhere in the state, do it. They are that good.

I first visited in September 2023 and after some x rays and a detailed discussion with Dr. Rode, we agreed that I needed to have bunion surgery on each foot. We scheduled to do the right foot about 4 months later and I'm now almost 3 months post surgery so I thought it was time for a review. First things first, the office is nice, the staff is incredibly friendly and they take you right in when you arrive for your appointment. I also had the challenge of working with my employer's benefits division to obtain permission to work fully remotely during my 2 months of being unable to drive/walk and Ashley and the other staffers who I dealt with were so patient with all of my "can you fill this form out AGAIN" requests. My surgery was scheduled for 7am on a Thursday at Bloomfield Ambulatory (see my great review for that place) and the whole experience felt swift, extremely professional and calming. Dr. Rode came in, drew a smiley face on my toe and a couple of hours later I was resting in at home in bed. They did give me a nerve block that held the pain at bay for about 48 hours. Other than that, I'm happy that Dr. Rode is not one to prescribe heavy hitting opiates for pain. I received an RX just for ibuprofen and it worked well. If you look at my pictures, you'll see that I was sent home from surgery with a cool cold/ice wrap, wrapped into my bandages. I connected a device that did both icing and compression on both legs, to facilitate healing and prevent blood clots. Great contraption! After 4 weeks on crutches and not bearing weight, I was moved into a very sturdy walking boot for another 4 weeks. Finally, when I was giving my actual walking papers I did get a stern talking to about how awful my current sneakers (Pumas) would be to start walking. I did get a specific running shoe suggestion from the doc and that's what I've been using since. I will have swelling for a few months but I can tell you this, my foot looks incredible and it feels pain free. Now I have to schedule the other one to be fixed. Thank you WHP and Dr. Rode for the top notch service.

The pain management was ideal - Exparel- a slow release, long acting block that is administered at the surgery site, during surgery. I never needed one pain pill. I was disappointment with my experience at the Orthopedic Walk In practice on Ensign Drive in Avon…read more After a clear shoulder injury and severe pain, conclusions were quickly jumped to and comparisons made to patients who are decades older than me, rather than on my actual history and symptoms. When I later had the follow up with the Orthopedic Physician, my concerns were again not fully heard, and the evaluation relied heavily on the PA's initial ( and incorrect) assumption, instead of reassessing my condition. Advanced imaging was initially refused, and I was sent to Physical Therapy. After months of limited improvement, imagining was finally ordered and showed that the initial assumption was wrong. Patients deserve to be listened to, have their concerns taken seriously, and to receive thoughtful, individualized care. Relying on age based comparisons and repeating unexamined assumptions can lead to delayed diagnosis, prolonged pain, and unnecessarily/ incorrect treatment.

Yes it is walk in and somewhat fast to get looked at, but you pay a price for this, you are hurried thru so they are not thorough in there examination and diagnose the most obvious condition but not the causes and not if you have multiple things going on at the same time. And watch out for the things they may offer you that are in house and not covered by your insurance.

They did not. I called at least two more times. Left voice mail both times. No one called me. I did not attend the appointment on Friday after I tried to cancel three times and they put me down as a no-show. On Tuesday morning, they emailed, robo-called, and texted me to let me know I was charged and needed to reschedule. Almost forgot, when I got a robocall to confirm my appointment, the options were 1 - confirm and ... There was no other route despite the machine desperately asking me to enter an option. Such a waste of time!
