The cupcakes were so fresh, fluffy and tasty. The girl at the counter was also super helpful and knew exactly what they were selling and helped me choose what would work for me. Now that I have experienced this place I will return. The hours they are open should work for anyone. The cupcakes were a big hit and they were so good I considered it a very fair value. From the minute I walked and seen the presentation up front and got a glimpse of the operation in the back I knew I was in an experienced bakery. Seeing the assortment, I would say to order for an occasion or I may even stop in just to get a single treat for my self or bring home desert for the family.

The decorated cookies were terrible, like biting into a brick. For paying close to $5 dollars per cookie, the freshness should be on par and it clearly was not. They were decorated beautifully, but quality/taste was not good. We bought six decorated cookies, so to spend that much and be a brick texture is no good.

On my way out of a recent street festival in Syosset, I happened to pass by The Groovy Cookie's…read morebooth, where these gargantuan lumps of dough, buried in almost obscene mounds of chocolate chips, were screaming my name. Most of the time, when I drop a lot of money on a "boutique" cookie, I end up sorely disappointed in its over-sweet or way-too-crunchy character. I had just had a spicy Indian lunch and needed something to counteract the curry, so I thought I'd take a chance on a Groovy Cookie. The supersized Chocolate Chip looked a little overwhelming, so I opted for the package of normal-sized ones. I was a little concerned that these wouldn't be as soft and gooey as the large one, but as soon as I popped one out of the package, I was proved wrong. This thing felt like it was straight out of the oven. "Uh oh," I thought. "There's got be a catch. This must be one of those chemical experiment confections that tastes nothing like a real cookie." But after the first bite, my theory was shot and my cookie snobbiness was instantly humbled. "This..." I remember thinking, "is THE BEST chocolate chip cookie I have ever tasted." To make sure I wasn't overreacting, I found a friend to give one to and she responded the same way. I quickly folded up the package and stuffed it into my pocket, afraid someone else I know might see me and ask for one. I tried to make it all the way home so I could let my wife taste one, but by the time I got there, I had devoured the entire bag. Everybody has different taste in cookies. I don't like the crazy-sweet ones they sell in that big bread restaurant at all. I like semi-sweet and really soft. These tasted like (and had the consistency of) raw cookie dough, so much so that I had to double-check as to whether I was supposed to take them home and bake them! Your taste will be different, but without getting too overdramatic, as a total cookie snob who usually HATES the cookies that others will travel miles and miles for, I've got to say that these are well worth a try. Fortunately (for me, not the company), these aren't readily available at the local convenience store, otherwise I'd be downing a pack a day. The literature from the company doesn't make it very clear, but I THINK you can order these online. Also, the company's lit doesn't really stick with a recognizable theme or logo throughout, so you have to be careful to make sure you're getting the real thing. Have fun, and I hope you enjoy your Groovy Cookie as much as I enjoyed mine.

The shop itself was nicely laid out with places for customers to relax and/or work while enjoying their beverage (and possibly dessert). There were ample tables and seating choices for customers to choose from depending on their needs. My Town's Cafe had a lot of beverages and pastries to offer. I was a little overwhelmed, but was just as happy to see variety. The drink menus that I immediately saw were mainly the specials and baristas' recommendations. I didn't see a regular menu without all of the fancy drinks until after I had paid as they were laminated and lying along the counter. I was a little bummed because there weren't any prices written for the speciality drink items and I really didn't NEED to have a fancy drink that cost almost $7. With that said, I tried one of their Spring Specials, the Biscoff Bliss Latte. It was a little sweet, but the hints of Biscoff, Nutella, and cookie butter were prominent. I also ordered a piece of bread pudding upon recommendation from the staff. It had the potential to be really good, but it definitely tasted as if it had been in their cooler for several days. I usually love visiting local coffee spots, but My Town's Cafe missed the mark for me. Perhaps I came in on an off day for them.
