Delightfully dated/retro decor and a fun menu make Pounds a must-visit next time you're in Fargo.

    Chicken club.

I really was expecting more. Nothing bad to say but every other triple d place we have visited left a better impression. Had the club and the ladies split a chicken strip basket. Also had the pulled chicken mac and cheese. Really just average. The sauces were excellent though.

Tried this place out for the first time and it was so good! Super cute inside and delicious food! I was recommended Pounds from a local who raved about it. The burger may look messy but it was delicious ate it up in no time. Service was good, friendly and food came out very quickly.

I always go for the grail with a side of torch sauce. 10/10 would recommend if you want a good burger in the area.

Two gray, waaaaay overcooked patties that tastes like school lunch. Extremely disappointing.

Only thing that saved this was the truffle fries... although they forgot them in the first place. Worst burger in Fargo.

Can't remember which burger this was but it was good - skip the Mac n cheese!

Solid burger, good ambiance, friendly staff and amazing selection of hot sauces! The sides just aren't it though. Mac n cheese is like rubbery and dry. The sweet potato fries were deflated and flavorless.

By far my favorite restaurant in Fargo, ND! I've been eating here for several years now. It started in college, I'd go and do homework on the weekends. Now, graduated and in their new location, my love is still there. I'm not sure what I love more, the food, the drinks, or all the plants. Being able to eat with the bright windows and succulents surrounding me is so amazing. I love all their different dipping sauces and burgers the most. Please try the Big Mac n' Chz burger with jalapeño cheddar ranch for your fries. There will be no regrets. I of course love the servers. Some are still there from my college days and they always welcome me and my friends

Came here to meet an old friend, no idea what to expect... and WOW. This place is so bougie and cute! Lots of cool decals and props and decor that really completes the space. The cool part is on the far wall, the window tiles reflect the light as the train drives by! Got seated almost immediately, and server came over plenty of times, just forgetting one water. 10/10 service, was kind, great customer service, and quick. The menu is found on the barcode labeled "food and dranks". Menu is easy to navigate online and had a LOT of good items I wanted to try, but I couldn't try them all! I ordered the loaded chicken bacon ranch mac & cheese. I didn't know what to expect when ordering ranch on cheesy noodles, and it honestly wasn't my favorite, but I have so many other things to try that I could like better. My friend liked her food, only complaint was the parmesan made the noodles seem extra salty. our chicken was cooked to perfection, and burger was delicious. Cardboard packaging and electronic payment machines. Will be back!!

Wow this place was SUCH a good vibe! We both subbed impossible patties to make our burgers vegetarian and they were delicious. Really liked the Dr Pepper Bbq sauce and will look forward to trying more of their variety of sauces in the future! Service was quick and friendly. Music was good too !!

Pounds is officially one of my favorite places in Fargo. It's really a foodie's dream- if you love fun food in an aesthetic, vibing atmosphere! I had to come check it out after I had seen so many people I knew go, and then freaking Guy Fieri went for DDD. Drinks-- fabulous! Food-- very good! Inside setup-- YES! They even have adorable colored picnic tables outside so you can sit with some fresh air or bring your doggo along. Another thing, is that from the name 'Pounds' I thought they'd mainly be a burger and beer place, or kind of just your typical American grub. But their menu has so much more than that- wings, burgers (of course), chicken sandwiches, vegan bowls, a ridiculous variety of mac n cheeses, and I'm sure I left something else out. So there's a lot more than meets the eye! Really, I am so impressed that Pounds is in a place like Fargo, it feels like a place that should be in a big city where there's tons of little diners and similar places that have their own charm and fun. Pounds is ahead of the times, man. Respect!

The burger and fries that I had were good not great. I can grill a better burger at home. Its a bit pricey for what you get.

A full service bar without dark rum? They have a good staff, but you need to give them the tools of the trade.

Tucked away in the heart of downtown Fargo, this place has such a captivating, vintage soul. It feels established, storied, and wonderfully lived-in truly a breath of fresh air for those who appreciate a restaurant with real character. The atmosphere is a delightful challenge in the best way possible; it's vibrant, bustling, and clearly the place to be. The service was absolutely top-tier both the chef and the waiter were remarkably attentive and made me feel completely looked after. I simply had to try their legendary Fried Cheesy Pickles. They are an absolute revelation! Wrapped in Havarti and an egg roll wrap, they have this almost "fruit-like" crispness and sweetness that makes them utterly addictive. I was also quite charmed by the Toasted Frog itself it really is the best in town. Full marks across the board! It's a quintessential Fargo experience, and I am already planning my next visit. At the Blarney Stone, located within the historic bones of the Hotel Donaldson, the stage is set for a masterclass in the traditional Irish pub experience. It is a space that feels curated rather than accidental--a sanctuary of dark leathers and flickering light that promises an escape from the biting North Dakota wind. The Canvas The location is undeniable. Sitting at the corner of Broadway and 1st Avenue, it occupies the literal and figurative heart of downtown Fargo. Inside, the architecture does the heavy lifting: the high ceilings and segmented seating areas offer a sense of intimacy that is rare in the era of open-concept dining. It is a "big room" that manages to feel like a collection of private snugs, perfectly suited for a long afternoon of market watching through the street-side windows. The Draught and the Plate The selection here is the establishment's strongest suit. With over 30 beers on tap, the menu moves fluidly from the essential Guinness pour to local craft favorites. For those looking for something more fortifying, the whiskey and Scotch collection is arguably the most respectable in the region. * The Fare: The menu is a dependable lineup of "pub grub" with a Celtic leaning. The Irish Nachos--waffle fries topped with a signature "Dublin Dip"--are a crowd favorite, and the Shepherd's Pie offers the kind of starchy, savory warmth one craves in this latitude. The food is decent, hitting the expected marks of a high-end tavern without necessarily aiming for culinary reinvention. The Human Element However, a pub is more than the sum of its architecture and its inventory; it is a living organism fueled by its staff. While the "bones" of the Blarney Stone are magnificent, the soul of the experience currently rests on the shoulders of the team. In a space this grand, the atmosphere requires a certain intentionality from the staff to bridge the gap between "a place to sit" and "a place to be." There are moments when the energy in the room feels dormant, waiting for a spark of hospitality to fully activate the historic surroundings. The difference between a good night and an unforgettable one here often comes down to the engagement of the crew--the small gestures of "pub culture" that make a guest feel like a regular before they've finished their first pint. The Verdict The Blarney Stone has everything it needs to be the definitive crown jewel of Fargo's pub scene: a premier location, a stellar drink list, and a gorgeous interior. It is currently a very good spot that is only a few degrees of "team-driven energy" away from being truly legendary. If the atmosphere can be brought to the level of the architecture, it will be hard to beat.

Jan was a hoot! Funny, personable, and just immensely fun to interact with. Four of us explored downtown Fargo and decided on the Blarneystone Pub for lunch. What a great decision that was. The bartender said we could sit anywhere we wanted to, so we chose a booth on the right side of the dining room right next to a gorgeous mural that covered the wall from floor to ceiling. It was a multi-media piece, with paint, bits of metal and glass, and all sorts of material. The next thing we admired was their deep, deep menu. Many of the listings had Irish accents like Emerald Island Dip, Irish Nachos, Mussels Malone, Pound O'sheamus Fries, Wings O'Malley, Belfast Barnyard, Blarney Dip, Emerald Chicken, Fibbers Fish Sandwich, Irish BLT, Donaldson Burger, Dubliner, Hot Headed Irishman, Smokie O'Leary, Black and Tan Sirloin, Fibber Flanagan's Fish and Chips, Guinness Irish Stew, Kilkenny Cod. And those don't include Corned Beef and Creamed Cabbage and Shephard's Pie! We ordered a Guinness ($7.75), an IPA ($7.75), a Margarita ($7.99), a Strawberry Pecan Salad ($18.99), a Classis Pub Cheeseburger ($16.99), a Taco Salad with Chicken ($17.49), and a Reuben Sandwich ($17.99). The burger and Reuben came with great waffle fries. My Taco Salad was quite delicious. A generous portion of fresh crisp lettuce, seasoned chicken, shredded Jack cheese, pico, jalapenos, a cilantro lime dressing. It was served with salsa and chips. We really enjoyed our visit and Jan's company. Not a bad way to start our visit to Fargo.
