Today we dropped off aluminum and steel but did find out theres a separate area for cables/cords, for future reference. They directed me to get back in my car and drive around the back. The guy tested each piece and weighed it. Then gave me a receipt and I went into a small room with an ATM and directions. I followed Google Maps and it took me directly to the entrance. I saw that I was supposed to bear right. It was a little difficult to figure out where to go, so I coasted at 3mph for a couple seconds. Eventually I spotted what looked like a kiosk area ahead, to the left of the large truck weigh station, but to the right of a side road that said "authorized vehicles only", and drove up. The woman inside asked what I had in my car to get rid of. She gave me a price, and I paid with credit card. They take MasterCard and Visa, but not AmEx or Discovery. It was a little pricey, but worth it if you need to get rid of stuff, in my opinion. I asked where to go and she directed me ahead to what kind of looked like a tiny white house. I drove up and asked another worker what to do, and he directed me to a numbered parking spot that I backed into. Once I did, I unloaded my stuff and tossed it over a big metal bar into a giant metal trash bin. After I was done, I just drove off to the right to loop back around to the entrance/exit and it was pretty easy to find my way out. All in all an easy and good experience.

Then looks at the back of the pickup where I have wood from some Home Depot crates and he states "don't take wood here anymore - gotta go to the main center". Then he asks "how much you got back there". I responded "you don't take wood here anymore - nuff said - didn't ask you for anything else". No issue for me. I think when it all comes down to the time spent getting to either location, it's all the same. A really ice gentleman came out to make sure people are putting things in the right bins. Lots of signage. Lots of garage/recycling bins but a small area. Very small. This is open to Fauquier residents only. Know before you go.
