I saw an array of critical reviews for PostalAnnex (prior to writing this one), and it is easy to see why some folks might be alienated. Having said that, I had a remarkable experience with a PostalAnnex employee by the name of Jessica. We had a series of documents notarized and copied before sending them to an out-of-state business via Federal Express. The FedEx label was generated for us by the out-of-state business. The delivery of these time-sensitive documents was significantly delayed, and we had no idea how to track the package. Jessica took the time to sleuth through PostalAnnex records to help locate the tracking number and thus identify the snag. She went above and beyond the call of duty. Horrible experience. I tried to mail something that should cost $8 and was told it would be $18. When I asked why, the serviceperson told me they 'had a 30% markup.' I pointed out that it was more than a 100% markup and asked what I was missing. She told me that's just how it was and if I liked USPS so much to go there. So I did. I caution anyone from using the Monroe Parkway Postal Annex if they wish to send packages by DHL. Here is my recent experience: On 7 February 2025, I asked this branch of Postal Annex to help me send a 0.55 pound package to Indonesia. I asked them if they charged the same rates as DHL. They said their rates were in the same range as DHL, and they gave me a twenty dollar discount to sweeten the deal. In the end, after the twenty dollar discount, I was charged $163.41 to send the package to Indonesia. Out of curiosity, I decided to go directly through DHL the next time. On 7 April 2025 (exactly two months later) I went to an actual DHL outlet on Scholls Ferry Road and asked them to send a package with the same contents, the same weight (0.55 pounds) to the same street in Indonesia. DHL charged me only $74.52. In other words, sending a DHL package through the Monroe Parkway branch of Postal Annex cost me more than twice as much as sending precisely the same package (same contents, same weight, same destination) through DHL itself. I hope others will learn from my experience and not allow themselves to be overcharged by this branch of Postal Annex. I verify that the statement above is true and correct and have retained receipts as evidence. read more

Quality of service is bad. They don't have a scanner to accept Amazon UPS returns, and when I shipped a personal package via Priority Mail it took them longer to get into the mail than if I had just gone to the post office. Every time I have gone here I have been disappointed. read more

They helped me pack some absolutely crazy stuff and their customer service has always been great and re-assuring when I was having a terrible day. This is my local PostalAnnex+ and I come here occasionally when I need to ship back a few returns. Everyone is always friendly and I'm usually in and out pretty quickly. However I try to avoid mailing back any USPS returns here because for some reason, they charge you $1.00 for each return, and I have no idea why (FedEx and UPS are free). It's not a large fee, so I'm not all broken up about it. it's just a little odd and off putting to have to stop and run my credit card for $1.00 (because who has cash these days?) when I'm usually in a hurry to be somewhere. read more

You would think this "Mike" would get a clue and change his horrible business practices. I came in around 4:30 and had a pre-stamped UPS box about (24*36) and asked for a hand-truck / dolly. The teenage boy at the front said that because UPS had already picked up for the day he would have to charge a $3 "storage fee", because the morning shift would be "pissed at him" if he didn't and they are "tripping" over this box. He even had the audacity to insult my intelligence and say "this isn't a very big store." Even so, there was plenty of room for one box. This short-sightedness of nickle and diming clients so effects long term revenue. I will commute ANYWHERE, even if not cost effective to not go in here again. read more

I just got some fantastic help from Heather today. I was heading to a PA location with a care package for my overseas college student. The ones near to me were closing too soon so I headed to this one. There was a lot more to it than I realized and Heather took me through all if it, patiently and with a cheerful attitude. I had still misjudged the time required, but she did not mention that she was working past closing. I had been told there might be cheaper ways to ship it by another employee, but the extra help and kindness from Heather was very valuable. Now, if we could just clone Heather and deploy Heathers to other companies that have forgotten the importance of kindness many years ago, we'd be in good shape! Thanks again, Heather! read more

Walked in to a manager/supervisor yelling at the gal who was working over a missing credit card slip for $14.85...while a customer was standing there. He continued to grill her over it while we stood there. It was extremely uncomfortable and his behavior towards the employee was absolutely unacceptable. ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. This behavior should not be tolerated. Did the employee really take $14.85? That seemed to be the accusation in his tone. Is it worth losing two paying customers potentially forever over dealing with it right then and there? Take it in back or handle it later. This is ridiculous. This manager/supervisor should be reprimanded for his crap treatment of an employee and for the negative image it gives the business in front of customers. If he's the owner, then he shouldn't be the owner. I can see why the rating of this location is so low. This was my second and probably last visit, the woman working has always been nice, friendly, and provided great service. The guy ruined it. read more

I never post to Yelp, BUT this is out of control. All the negative reviews on this place are true. This guy has a HUGE up charge compared to any other Postal Annex. Everything I have ever shipped from here is at least 25% higher than any other location. I actually saw a guy pay $14.95 to fax like ten pieces of paper! They now even charge for a simple drop off package/return. $1-$2 per package. Unbelievable. I will say most the employees are real nice but I will NOT be supporting my local Postal Annex again. read more

I'm surprised by the low review. I've had a box here for 2yrs and yes, they charge fees for services, which seems to be some of the bad reviews. ?? Their service is excellent! I picked up 3 large boxes yesterday and the young man asked if I wanted help to my car, he put all the boxes on the dolly and pushed them to my car!! That's great customer service! Ripoff Warning- Second time this place has tried to work a crazy price for an overnight letter. Each time saying it's the cheapest I would find. Quoted me over $160 to get a regular sized letter to Chicago within 2 days via fedex. Shipped it 20 minutes later at the actual fedex place for $31.41 Don't trust these guys. read more

Claims to be a ups shipping location. Took in a package where Amazon had sent me a code and said any ups location could scan the code and print the little shipping sticker. They wanted to charge me to use a computer and $3.95 for printing. Wouldn't even look at the email to see that I was getting a ups label that had already been authorized in the system. I'm writing to acknowledge that Mike, owner of this and two other Postal Annex stores in the area, was willing to accept responsibility for a lost item because it was an employee error, reimbursed me for a replacement and shipped the new parcel via priority mail at no additional charge to me. The store was busy during our conversation but he remained kind and helpful. I know it smarts to pay a fee for postal service and products, but Postal Annex *isn't* the USPS and it's like dining out when you don't feel like cooking: you pay for convenience and service. I'm not a cheerleader for a raging free market and deregulation, but a shop owner can charge whatever the traffic will bear. read more

Postal Annex at first seems like your regular mail place. However following a bad experience with Mike Hoffner the owner I wouldn't trust him to mail a stamp. Mike not only lost a simple package but the person I was trying to send the package to received a completely " DIFFERENT " package. If you want to buy random things not associated with actually "mailing " something the staff was very nice . However ship at your own risk.!!!!!!! I recommend the local post office for many reasons just a few minutes away and the rates are set and your supporting USPS not Mike. read more

I would like to base this review off of a service I received however I wasn't even able to get that far. I went in on Friday and after waiting for some time, was finally acknowledged by a woman who asked what I wanted. I told her I was there to open a mail box and she said to come back tomorrow. I explained I couldn't do that and asked why I couldn't open one then. She said she was new and didn't want to do it so I needed to come back. I've been a customer of this Postal Annex for several years, including when I worked from home and would have frequent, large international shipments (aka giving this place a lot of money). Postal Annex marks up the prices on everything so that they make money on top of what it costs to ship via the post office. For example each stamp is marked up 10 cents, etc. It used to be that the cost for most shipments was only a few dollars over the regular/ post office/ USPS price and I was fine with that because of the convenience factor the close location and no lines provided. Then today I went in to ship two flat rate priority mail boxes - these are the flat rate boxes that are the same cost regardless of where they are shipped and weight. Postal Annex used to charge a few dollars over the advertised post office flat rate, again was fine with that. Then today the owner was working and he tried to charge me $15.00 for a $5.15 flat rate envelope. I asked what the deal was and he became flustered and said the flat rate prices had gone up a lot, which I knew they had not but he said he would "cut me a deal" and only charge me $7.00 so that he kept my business. Well he has lost my business for trying to over charge me, maybe he can get away with that with people who don't do a lot of shipping. Not cool. read more
