You can definitely believe the abundance of 1 Star reviews for this place...it's horrible. If I could give them 0 Stars I would. I was sent here by FedEx to drop off a package with a prepaid label because they were an "Authorized FedEx Shipping Agent". No sooner did I walk into this store with my package than I was told by a very rude older woman that she wouldn't take my shipment because it was "too big" and they didn't have enough room in their store for it. The package was 24x20x21 and, according to FedEx, they are supposed to accept packages almost twice this size. When I asked her if she knew whether the Walgreen's (also a FedEx dropoff) in the same shopping center would take it she just lied and said it was too big for them as well. Walgreen's said otherwise when I called them. If these people don't want to provide the services you've signed up for then just stop participating in the FedEx program! I needed to get a notarized signature on some documents and then get them scanned to be sent to an attorney's email. They were very helpful in arranging everything I needed and even caught a typo in the documents that turned out to be kind of important! I now want to go back & order a box of fancy business cards, really a vanity, but fun. They gave me a quote that was reasonable. I can definitely recommend them. We use them for our printing and mailing needs. They have always done a great job. Great communication and professional job. As far as people complaining about a charge to drop off a prepaid package. You don't understand business at all. The prepaid label doesn't pay for their employees taking care of your on-line order screw up. I was returning an order from Amazon and was told this was a good drop off site. They couldn't have been more wrong!! Simply asking for tape got me shouted at. The female behind the counter put her hand up and shouted "No!" It was so rude, the customer that was directly in front of her jumped back. They explained that they make no money from this service. And apparently it's pissing them right the F off, too! They even put up a sign, saying that after January 16th, they'd charge $1.50 for being used as a drop site for UPS. How petty is that????? I'd like to offer a bit of business etiquette to these individuals. Courtesy business brings more business. Had they volunteered the 8" of tape I needed, I'd think about them the next time I needed to actually use their service that would cost me money. I will still think about them but not in a flattering way. And I will tell others, as well. So, for the small amount of money they're saving from a little tape and helping out a person, they just bought themselves a whole lot of bad press. Not that it seems to bother them, as I read previous ratings here. They simply don't care. Canned 4 star responses from friends don't count, either. "Oh Bob and Caroline...." Really? No one offered me a name right up front. And in case they think that they'll respond to this with a lie, let me assure everyone that I never raised my voice, asked anyone to stop what they were doing or demanded anything, I was very polite, in spite of the woman being incredibly rude to me for merely asked for a little tape. Horrible customer service. Shipped a package to California from WA state. It was supposed to arrive 2 days later. Found out it never arrived. Tracked the package and it was sent to California then came back to WA then was sent to Florida. Florida! That's not even close! So I called Postal Annex and the guy who answered was rude. Very unhelpful and pretty much told me to just deal with it and "nobody is perfect" and "things happen". Ok thanks a lot buddy. They should refund my shipping since we paid extra for it to arrive early. But no, they are not willing to help at all. Never ever coming back here again. What a joke of a mail store. You can't even just drop off a prepaid package to this location and local business because they want to charge you to take it. Yep so if you have an Amazon Zappos or any other kind of company box that already has a prepaid label you have to pay this company extra money just to take your package. You will be charged if you use any of their services or take their time....seems reasonable. if you can't bring your package in ready to mail, then you'll need to pay for an adult to help you out....at a fee. The good reviews for this site all read the same and feel forced. The staff has been rude to me on multiple occasions, ruling out the idea of someone having a bad day. They are in a convenient location for me to drop some of my return UPS shipments. My last interaction with them was 4 weeks ago. I walked in the door with a package I was told as soon as she saw the pre printed return label that the package was too big and too heavy for their UPS driver. Interesting. There is nothing in this world that I hate more than being lied too. So I pushed the issue a little bit, really too big for your UPS driver? Yep and too heavy. She never weighed the item, the item was just shy of 25 lbs. "Rob and Caroline, really now their stuff." Yeah, sure do. Like exactly how much something weighs without even weighing it. On exit, I called UPS to let them know of my experience with this drop location. So here is the history of this particular too big and too heavy package. The Box was shipped from Portland to a UPS store location a couple of miles away from this site. Who had no problem with this shipment and when I dropped it back off, also had no problem with the size and weight of the package and they actually weighed it. I find this interesting because the UPS store's are also independently owned and operated. Just like the Postal Annex. Ruling out the notion of different rules for different locations. Now, too big too heavy for the driver. NOT TRUE! A quick search of the UPS careers website says... Driver and driver helper job description - "This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs." SO - My package that was under 25 lbs was not too big nor too heavy for the driver. I have over 20 years of sales and customer service experience, janitorial, small business owner, equipment and finance sales, wholesale supply, residential and commercial carpet cleaning and painting. Lots of different styles of customers and various customer needs in 20 years. Something I learned at very young age, NEVER LIE TO THE CUSTOMER! You will loose all creditably, regardless of the field you find yourself in. Never lie to the customer. I would never expect my grandma to wrestle a 25 lb package, maybe instead of being dishonest with a customer you could simply request they move the package to a spot convenient for you. I would have been happy to help you in anyway possible, then again customer service is in my nature. read more

My husband and I waited in a very long line, the husband owner couldn't be bothered to help anyone, only to be told when we got to the register that they couldn't take prepaid postage!! We have dropped off packages in the past with no problem. That's their job!!! Very rude employees. My girlfriend and I came in to have some legal papers notarized and to get some copies of it, an envelope and stamps, and we wanted to ship a birthday present to her mother. Adrian was the employee who "helped" us. He notarized the papers but then grabbed the paper out of my girlfriends hand when he didn't think she signed in the correct area. We asked about copies but never received any, he didn't acknowledge our request. The birthday present was a coffee mug and a sweater. The mug was nicely wrapped in tissue paper that made a design and the sweater was covered in the paper as well and it was in a gift bag. He immediately shoved his hand in the bag and started shuffling things around, taking things out and asking us, rudely, what was in the bag after he had already done this. He had no business putting his hands in our bag, we would have told him exactly what was in the bag if he had asked nicely. He then scoffed and asked "does it have to be mailed in this bag?" Obviously if it was in the bag and wrapped nicely we want it mailed in the bag!! He took the coffee mug out and put it on a table behind him next to the bag and called for someone else to pack it, repeatedly patting down the tissue paper that was meant to be fluffed. We didn't want it packed we just wanted a box to ship it in, maybe some packing peanuts or bubble wrap. We asked for the presents back when we saw how they were going to be treated. He then handed us off to another employee who was more tolerable but still had a bored and disrespectful demeanor. The older woman working was also rude to other customers who had come in while we were being "helped." Never coming back here again, don't waste your time unless you like an awful staff who will disregard you. read more

I've been to this place about a dozen times so this review is NOT based only a single incident. I have two comaints: they are rude to me and rude to my children! With two kids in tow, I don't mind paying extra to avoid the lines at the post office. However since it takes them a long time to figure out how to do even the simplest mailing, we always end up spending more time at the Postal Annex than we want to. As a result, my kids get bored and start to play with things they shouldn't. Is it annoying? Yes! Am I trying my best? Yes! Is it a reason to be mean to my kids? No! The last time we were there, the guy made both my kids cry. They stood clinging to my legs in fear as he stood behind us with his arms folded staring them down making sure they did not touch anything. We will not be back! read more

Went into this place 4 times, and will never go back again. They are rude. First time I paid to mail something. They didn't seem too excited about sending my item. Then on two separate visits I dropped off prepaid boxes. Again they gave me a look like why are you bringing it to us? The other day I had 2 prepaid boxes I needed to send. I live 1 mile away. I've been going to the UPS store because I told myself on the 3rd visit I wasn't going back there. I was driving by about 8:50 am on Saturday. The doors were wide open, I thought well maybe they are open and I didn't want to drive across town to UPS. I walk up to the door didn't walk in, stood outside, and asked if I could just drop off a prepaid item. "No, we don't have time for that right now". They will never get my business again! read more

Horrible. Very rude about charging to scan packages in so you get a receipt!! How do we know our packages will actually be turned over to UPS or Fed Ex if we have no proof we handed them over. I've used them for mailing services in the past but I won't anymore. Lots of other places do the scanning in for free. Not sure how they stay in business. The guy rudely took my box, said he would package it bc he does it "all day" He wanted to charge me $1.50 to package it, which isn't much but I told him I could do it. He said I couldn't use the counter so i told him I'd package it on the floor. He said i couldn't use the floor either. He said I'd have to go outside and do it. They are always very helpful and go above and beyond to do what is needed to keep their clients happy. While we do use them for our shipping and mailing needs their real value for us is the professional printing . They do an fabulous job, our pieces look great, they get them done in about half the time as anyone else we have used, and for less money. I can't imagine doing my business without them. The owners here are super nice! It was my first time shipping something through FedEx, let alone internationally, so they walked me through the whole process so I could understand exactly what needed to be done. They even recommended that I use the cheaper DHL service because I was shipping to a small municipality (I did not know FedEx contracts out couriers for small islands and municipalities that are far away from a metropolitan area, adding an expensive premium). They do appear to have new hires though, which took a little bit longer than necessary to get some stuff done, but it was fine! Overall, great experience, I'd go back again. read more

Hello good people, So that I may hope to establish some credibility: I have a bachelor of science, an MBA, have had a 13 year engineering career as well as being a real estate investor. Never in my 35 years of life have I ever posted any negative review against any retailer until today. So that I may establish some credibility for my wife (see post from Jessica M): I have known Jessica for 7 years and have never once observed her ever having a problem with a retailer. Jessica has worked in retail and sales for many years and this has made her very sympathetic toward people that work in customer service. If I ever get frustrated with poor service Jessica helps me see it from the perspective of the service worker. In fact I regularly get feedback from service workers (Such as the Fred Meyer florists) that they adore Jessica. My wife (Jessica M) asked me to go speak with the owners of this establishment after she felt she was verbally abused at this store. See post from Jessica M. It turns out that the individuals that abused her are the owners (Rob and Caroline). My wife was so upset by the verbal abuse that I felt I owed it to her to go and speak with the individuals that had hurt her. I went to the store I spoke with them and these are the facts: 1) The owners admitted that they told my wife that "she was not raised right". 2) The male owner (Rob) asked me what she was going to do and I told him that she would probably do everything she could to help prevent someone else from being abused he said "she does not have a life". Then the male owner told me that my wife should not share her story because the PostalAnnex+ corporation (owners own this franchise store) has good lawyers and they would come after us because "he writes checks to them every month". 3) At no point did I raise my voice or say anything argumentative to the owners. 4) The male owner (Rob) asked me to leave the store and when I did not immediately leave he suggested that he would call the police if I did not leave immediately. I told him that was his right and he walked away (presumably to call the police). At this time I left the store. The only reason I did not leave immediately when the male owner (Rob) first asked me to is because I was hoping to have a constructive conversation and possibly avoid the course of action that has led to you reading this. I have reviewed all the yelp reviews and there are appears to be some behavioral patterns that the owners are exhibiting. I would argue that there are recurring situations (read the reviews) where the owners have crossed the line from undesirable to unacceptable. Undesirable is being rude, impatient, and impolite. Unacceptable is verbal abuse such as telling someone "they were not raised right" or "making children cry" (see post from Martine Z.) Based on the names of those that posted and said they were verbally abused it appears that most if not all of them were women. This leads me to wonder if gender discrimination is leading to this verbal abuse. I do not know of the ages of the other people that had issues but my wife is 31 and has a youthful look so many people mistake her for being younger. Some of the rhetoric that the owners used to abuse my wife also makes me wonder if there could be age discrimination at play. Members of our community, I propose that enough is enough. How many people have been verbally abused that have not posted? How many more people will be abused in the years ahead? Something needs to be done and I request help from PostalAnnex+ corporate office. Please help us and help this community fix this problem. I am not sure what happened to others who went to Postal Annex after reading the negative reviews as my experience is not even close. I had to ship an extremely large item to Colorado, and item that weighs over 100 pounds. I stopped in to ask how I could do this. I was presented with several options, given great advice on how to pack it, where to get possible packing materials, and here is the real surprise: the man who helped me, Rob, said I probably would be better served to contact a freight company as it would probably be easier and perhaps cheaper. The man actually turned away a sale that I am sure would have been good for them. So, I cannot address the issues of others, but my time there was very nice and informative. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I've been to the Postal Annex a handful of times, mostly to drop off prepaid packages (which they seem to despise since they can't charge you an arm and a leg accept) and each time the owners are rude and dismissive when they actually speak to you. I get the feeling that they are just disgusted and inconvenienced with the fact that they have to work for a living, especially in service to those they deem lesser beings than themselves. They charge for every damn thing they can get away with. Come in without your boxes taped and ready to go? God have mercy on your soul. I'm going to drive a little farther and go to Pony Express and the UPS store in Mill Creek. The rudeness unprofessionalism is uncalled for, and is absolutely not worth the convenience.
