Cute little shop in downtown Tarrytown. Walked by on Friday night and marked it in my brain: want to stop here on my walk back. It was closed. No worries- the next day we were there again for the Halloween parade and I made it a point to go in and get a pretzel or two... Milk chocolate and caramel- similar to a Twix. Wished it oozed more caramel in my bites but maybe that's a 'how it can be made' thing? Toffee- rolled in little bits of toffee and had a chocolate drizzle on top. It was good. I love the idea of this place. Simple and effective but charging at least $3 for this small item is a little silly. They did not knock my socks off.

Didn't order anything..... Didn't eat anything.... Because I feel like a haystack with appendages and glasses.... But the pretzels looked and smelled amazing They were masterpieces of olfaction and were like edible art. The packaging and presentation was so classy. I asked a patron how much they liked them and they kissed their pinched fingers and then opened them up as they reached for the sky, "as good as they look they taste even better." After I drop of few pounds--and not from my mouth to my hips-- I plan on going there to celebrate with some toothsome pretzel treats!

I am updating my review from a year ago to say that I was much happier with my experience this time! The inside was much nicer and didn't have boxes all over the place. They seemed much more 'moved in'. The girl working was really nice and answered some of our questions. We ended up getting a stuffed peanut butter pretzel (peanut butter is my soulmate) and a stuffed biscoff pretzel (why don't you just biscoff). Oh my goodness were both of these delicious!! My biggest issue is that they were $6 each! That seems a bit much in my opinion. I'd definitely come back to have another but it's a very occasional treat!

From my very first bite of a Posh pretzel, I was blown away by the taste, quality and unique presentation of these mouthwatering pretzels. Posh just worked with my nonprofit organization to create the most beautiful themed Mardi Gras favors for our 70 guests at a fundraise. The guests were amazed by the quality of these mouthwatering pretzels chocolate and their beauty and were begging us for extras! the owner, AnnMarie and her staff are the most friendly, generous, hardworking and loving people! It's no coincidence that they have a business based on a "sweet" product!

I came here after my run in the area. Of course while I was making my morning protein smoothie, I saw Posh Pretzels featured on Restaurant Hunter. When it was mentioned that they are located in Tarrytown where I was headed, I knew I had to stop by to try them out. Their pretzel making process and the flavours looked so enticing. My entire run I was thinking about those pretzels and after I got back to my car and saw on the GPS they were only 3 minutes from my location, I rushed to go grab a few pretzels and stop by the closest coffee shop for a beverage. The store is very small but cute. Their glass counters were filled with pretzels of all flavours including Chocolate, S'mores, Rocky Road, Red Velvet, Apple Caramel Cinnamon, an many others. They also have a few non-pretzel items but I was here on a mission and stuck to my guns. The pretzels are sold $24/pound. I bought a small box which holds 6+ as well as a small bag which holds 4. So far we have tried the Milk Chocolate Caramel, Red Velvet and Rocky Road. They all taste really good and are super decadent and rich. I would probably enjoy them most with a strong coffee that's light on the sugar. I would probably get them in the future for treats for friends and family when visiting.

The Pod by Cocoa Compassion's owner- Joy is 100% in support of working closely with family-run cacao farmers in The Caribbean, some Central American countries and Africa and sourcing the best quality chocolate bars and powders to these neck of the woods and beyond. What's more, the owner donates a portion of her profits to charitable organizations in NYC. With her chocolate, the owner bakes her own delicious 'Compassion Chocolate Cookies' that are filled with scrumptious dark chocolate chunks, other pastries and her hot chocolate- which is to-die for. When you come to The Pod, you're actually home: sit on the sofa lounge a bit if you want and strike up a conversation with the owner- who's a hoot and damn well knows her cacao. I learned a thing or two maybe three because of her. The shelves are stocked with dark chocolate bars and powders for purchase and specialty gift items as well. By the way, Joy rents(?) the small space up front for pop-up events+vendors selling their handmade jewelry, silk scarves, etc.- just double-check if this is something she's still doing. If you're looking for somewhere to have a tasty hot chocolate, want to indulge in a one of her cookies or come in for the positive vibes, The Pod is a must.

The hot chocolates were more on the liquidy side, and I would've preferred for them to be thicker and to have a more pronounced flavor of chocolate. A bit too sweet for my liking, especially considering that we got dark chocolate. You'll be satisfied and done after a few sips due to how sugary this drink is. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The pro tip here is to get a pound of the candied pecans to take home with you, they are life affirming. Are you disappointed by the dearth of decent cheese in the United States? The restaurant - like most spots in Tarrytown on a night when there's a show at Tarrytown Music Hall - was bustling when we arrived, and we were promptly shown to our reserved seats. I love the array of cheeses and olives in the restaurant's "general store" in the front of the house. We ordered a round of classic drinks (mojito, whiskey sour, gin and tonic, Malibu and pineapple juice - we're not big drinkers) and each drink was on point and not overly heavy on the liquor, which I appreciate. We weren't famished, so we all ordered burgers and sandwiches, which were quite good, especially my Cubano I want to return to try some entrees - like the butternut squash risotto - which looked interesting and promising! But the star of this evening was their TRUFFLE FRIES! These were infused with truffle oil, fried to perfection, and so, so delicious! We actually ordered more when the servings we were sharing weren't enough. I would return JUST for those. We shared a bread pudding, which was also lovely and light, topped with a scoop of creamy and not cloyingly sweet vanilla gelato. Overall, a great meal, with a friendly and relaxed vibe. I'll be back.
