I was very happy when I called to make an appointment and the woman on the front desk was kind, helpful and understandable. when I arrived the salon was clean, empty (but it was a Monday) and I liked the atmosphere, the light jazz was a good touch. I put up no argument and gladly opted for the most expensive spa pedicure. The tech nicked the top of my right toe (sensitive skin) with a nail file. luckily it didn't bleed but as the pedicure went on she sprayed my toes with pure alcohol several times and wow that burned. as an industry professional she should have been using something like sea breeze (it would have been ok only to wipe the nail with alcohol not spray it over the tops of the feet. it progressed when (and this happens almost everywhere) she violently exfoliated my legs with scrub. I'm not here to solicit free advice but scrub does the work on its own, a gentle touch is all you need. I don't want to have my skin scrubbed off: again. ow! The massage was hurried, and missed the key sensory points -- all I can say is there shouldn't be any rushed or hurried movements in the spa industry, to be blunt the massage just didn't feel good, it also lacked pressure. I skipped my manicure all together, but the tech redeemed herself on the back massage as I was drying which delivered the pressure and key tension spots but overall I don't know if I would go back. Still on the hunt for the best spot.

It's very important to me that the place is clean, plays relaxing music, and smells good - if a salon smells like the awful chemicals they use, I can't take it. We usually get regular pedicures and either regular or gel manicures. The nail techs always do an excellent job - thorough and precise. My mom has extremely short nails which she bites and they are kind and help her feel less embarrassed as they care for her hands and teach her to do better herself. It's a little pricey compared to my home state salon but I think it's standard for this area. There are many good reasons that keep me returning as does Mom who eschewed salons for years due to self-consciousness about her nails. Keep up the great job, Uponavon!

Jason took care of me yesterday and he was amazing! He massaged my legs for what felt like 15 minutes during my pedicure! It was so relaxing. THEN.......when he walked me over to the drying station he brought over a hot towel, put it in a plastic bag placed it on my upper back and massaged me with it. THEN....put lotion on my shoulders (he asked first) then massaged my upper back and arms. This was better than any massage I have ever had. They have a huge nail polish selection! They also have a loyalty card. Be sure to bring cash for a tip because you cannot add it on your card. If you forget they have an ATM in the place with only a 49 cent fee. I had a dip done $53 on 7/30. during the dip I could tell the tech was having issues with clumsiness of one of the top coats. Then the nails would not dry and I sat there for 2 hours. I left and soon after noticed a rough smudge on my left thumb nail and started the nails to fall apart each day. I called the owner Emma on day two and told her what happened. She only said she would take them off that's it. No apology for the inconvenience no refund. This has been a pattern with my nails for the last couple of months and I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt coming back, but I can no longer throw money away and my nails look horrendous all the time. I used to get compliments and give this place recommendations to people, but over the last six months the quality has gone down. I don't know if it is the product, or the application, but I deserve a refund and an apology. I will not be coming back and I'm hurt by the fact that because she has a high wealthy clientele that those of us who are hard working and supported her all these years are not needed. I would hope with seeing this will facilitate action to refunding me. Also, I don't like having to leave multiple messages and being ignored.
