While we were visiting relatives on the east coast, our upstairs washer started leaking despite not being used. The slow leak lasted ten days before it was discovered. The damage to the laundry room floor and living room ceiling was extensive. We found our own remediation and restoration people because the insurance company is still processing the claim. We decided to replace the demolished hardwood floors with tile and contacted a local tile shop for contractor recommendations. When we met with Oliver we told him we wanted a specific tile found in other parts of the house. He sourced that tile within a day, gave us a reasonable estimate, and began work the following week. This is an old house that had some quirky plumbing and electrical connections hidden behind the old baseboard. Oliver figured out which were important and worked with our plumber to find a way to keep the clean-out valve accessible while minimizing it as an eye sore. We are in our seventies so we had to be careful to maintain safe conditions while the work was being done during the virus surge while we remained in the house. Oliver is a real professional and managed to keep us informed about progress through texts and photos while we maintained a safe distance from the project. The laundry room floor looks so good now we ALMOST think living through this major inconvenience during a the holiday season in the midst of pandemic surge was worth it. We recently had Oliver convert our shower-over-tub into a walk-in shower as part of a larger bathroom remodel (and we love it!). This included framing the shower dam, re-doing the concrete board for the shower surround, and putting in the waterproof membrane. I wish all contractors could be like Oliver. His quote was reasonable, he was able to start fairly quickly, and the quality of the work is excellent. Oliver is extremely professional and communicative. He let me know as soon as there was a concern and presented potential solutions. I appreciated that he gave me enough notice when decisions needed to be made for my husband and I to look at things together overnight. Oliver is one of the few workers who is so honest and considerate, he's a pleasure to have in the house. We will use him again for any and all tile work. My one suggestion is to have him order some extra tile. He tries to save the customer money by ordering just the right amount, but if your tile supplier has freight charges or per order minimums, you might want to order some extra and save it in case of future cracks. We had Oliver Posch tile and outdoor breezeway/patio of our house. And I highly recommend him. It's a high traffic area from the garage to the kitchen and it's beaten by blazing sun and roaring rain. It was ugly, tired and in desperate need of a facelift. But it is also over another part of the house and we had to be very careful not to puncture the membrane that would allow water to seep through to the ceiling below. Oliver came highly recommended by someone down the street who had an expensive and extensive addition put on their house. We didn't know these folks, but left a note in their mailbox because we could see through the windows that they had a bathroom tiled (difficult to explain, but we could see while driving by.) The man called me right away and said he had a man named Oliver Posch do the tiling because his contractor suggested it. I called Oliver and he came over promptly. We looked at the area we wanted tiled and poured over his portfolio. It's a shame we didn't take before and after photos of our project because you simply can't imagine how he transformed it. Suffice to say, it was not an easy project. We happened to love one of the photos in Oliver's portfolio. He told us the name of the tiles, we returned to one of the stores in Berkeley that we had been searching through; they knew Oliver well, recommended him highly, and we were off! Oliver showed up exactly when he said he would. He was never late, never unprepared. And he worked with us to make sure we had the right tiles in the right place (they were all different.) When I wasn't sure I wanted something a certain way (that he had laid out) he said clearly that he wanted to work with me on it. So, we rearranged the tiles, moved things, re-thought things and it was perfect. Oliver's price was reasonable. There were no surprises. And he finished the project exactly when he said he would. All in all we were very pleased. I would not have done it any differently, and now we actually have more of an outdoor room, rather than a very ugly walk way. Oliver was instrumental in this. And in understanding that this wasn't just about beautifying an area, but also about making sure the roof wasn't punctured and the mechanics of the structure of our house.
