Park was clean. When I made reservations I asked if was on the ocean thinking I was talking to Beachside TV She said they had a premium spot overlooking ocean. This was not the case We left and forfeited our night stay of $66 and moved to seaside Rv right on the ocean (ocean front for$55) It was worth loosing the money to be on the beach. I asked about refund and of course they would not refund. We were going to spend 3 nights - so happy we moved. This park seems to have a lot of permanent residents. Pro's: the park is clean and quiet at night, nice laundry area Cons: the 2 pet areas are just a wide spot next to the dumpster and 1 has water running through it. they also list a pet area at the entrance but it's a little spot right on the bush adjacent road. laundry facility doesn't have a dispenser for detergent so bring your own. I would have liked to used it but didn't want to buy a huge laundry soap at the store. the 2 showers for women were just ok, they didn't smell fresh so I decided not to use them. the thing that killed this place for me was the water hookup for the RV is almost at ground level close to the sewer dump instead of being elevated on a post so someone can't contaminate the faucets when hooking or in hooking the sewer. I will look for a more sanitary situation next time. read more

If you like to camp and have fun, this place is NOT for you! The first night we got there it was exactly 10:02 and we already told to turn down our music (even though it was barely on), then told us to be quiet even though we weren't being loud. Then the following evening got even worse. We are all either Veterans or serve the Veterans but that property manager obviously didn't care. We were playing cornhole and were told to stop at 7:55pm because we were being too loud. When we tried to point out that it's only 7:55, then manager didn't have a rebuttal so just told us to get out. We all replied that we have been drinking and we aren't going anywhere. Since it wasn't quiet hours, I decided to start playing again and we would just make sure we keep our voices down. 5 minutes later the manager came back and told us to shut it down again. When I argued the rules and the logic behind the purpose of those rules the only response he could give was "well there's a lot of people here to keep them all happy!" The property manager was definitely on some power ego trip like he was the sherif of the Wild West. My family, friends and I will never be back. We will also make sure that all the people we know in Southern Oregon know to NEVER go to Portside RV. If you have options of places to stay or can move your trip dates to not stay at this place, I would highly recommend doing so. Ruined our whole weekend :( read more

We just stayed here for an entire month and had a great experience! This park is very well maintained, clean, quiet, safe, and well managed. It's convenient to walks on the beach and around the harbor and steps away from some really great restaurants! We HIGHLY recommend this place for our friends who RV. We stayed here last week on a Thursday and came back 5 days later because it was clean and conveniently located. The couple, who assisted us at that time, were beyond awesome with reservation and set up. I was assisted with set up and it was some great to meet them... And Then... We came back a week later and the "General Manager" was there and she made sure that we were aware she's the "General Manager". Did I mention that she's the "General Manager"? She's a senior lady who's short and round and has the typical "I need to talk to your manager" hairstyle that women sometimes choose. In my opinion, I suspect personality issues and a very overreaching control freak. Her presence alone is reason to avoid this place from now until her family puts her in the ground. She is a very uncomfortable woman to be around with a fake patronizing smile. There's something about her demeanor that makes you uncomfortable and she obviously runs this place with an iron fist. Oh, and she told my friend that his RV, a low mileage 2004 Winnebago, was too old for this RV park, but she would make an exception this time. Seriously, RVing and life is too short to have to deal with people who need to be medically examined for psychological issues and so I strongly recommend you avoid this place. I can honestly say that I discretely inquired with some of the locals what was her issue and was met with looks of fear and trepidation as they chose to not comment but nod in approval that there's something wrong with the "General Manager". Their silence was deafening. Avoid this place, she makes it suck. Oh and she slips you an extra note with your receipt about overuse of the 2GB wifi data limit or the "General Manager" will shut off your data. This park has a great location with very affordable rates. From my spot right now, I'm looking at the ocean. It's right by a great shopping area and tons of bars and other fun places to go. The staff, especially Susan, was extremely friendly and polite. It's a no fuss park. Easy to pull into my site. The water runs hot for a long time and there are no technical issues. Everyone staying here is so cordial. Anyone driving by waves and it seems everyone greets each other, which gives it such a nice vibe. There are no outlandish and ridiculous rules. The park is well kept and clean, the spots are level, and no one has an old rusty trailer or tons of junk sitting outside. The wifi isn't that great, but I'm on an unlimited data plan anyway. read more

My boyfrirnd and I had a wonderful time at the brookings coast for Fourth of July week; spending time with family, exploring the tidepools and enjoying the amazing beach weather. All in all it was a great time, minus the extraordinary display of discrimination that came from the owners of Portside RV Park. I give my fullest thanks and appreciation to the onsite management of Portside RV Park who fought for us to be able to stay and apologized end over end for the words and actions of the owners. Truly kind management, friendly and caring! Went beyond to make us feel welcome despite all of the bumps in the road. Owners on the other hand wouldn't allow myself and my boyfriend, a disabled vet to stay or visit with family due to our appearance.. my fire engine red hair (and im sure my piercings/tattoos) and his mountain man beard. They made a quick judgment on our character based on our appearance, and yet never once came around to apologize for themselves. If they would have taken the time to introduce themselves they would have found out that I have been a nanny for over 10 years and that my boyfriend gave 3 years of his life to the Army for his country. The owners only came around after we had gone. read more

Denied accommodation despite having a prepaid reservation because our RV is older than 2001. I explained that the age of my RV was never asked when we made our reservation; and the best she could muster was an apology. I will give the manager the benefit of the doubt that it was genuine. Before leaving I also explained that their right of refusal of service does not negate my right to call out the business owner Ken Byrtus for his poor management decision. read more

I'm a local and will never stay here again. Was evacuated because of a wildfire and rented an RV space for a month with the understanding that if we were allowed home the monthly rent would be prorated. After 11 days the evac order was lifted and instead of prorating the monthly rate they charged me the full daily rate of $40 a day. We have two dogs and there is no place for the dogs to go. It is all gravel and cement with several "No pets in this area" signs. No ocean view, only an industrial view and smell of a commercial fishing port. read more

Life is good here in Harbour Oregon and Portside RV park. My wife and I have traveled and camped at a number of places in this beautiful land the Lord has blessed us with, and we have found a peace here in this place. One of the things we appreciate in this park is the quiet and safe atmosphere you experience here. I know that if I personally have to make a trip back to Nebraska, or if the Lord calls me home before her, I know that she will be taken care of here by the people and staff . Ken and Virginia have not only worked very hard to provide a clean and affordable housing arrangement, but have a proven track record when it comes making sure the costs to the residents are fair. RV Spaces are tight! Management is very accommodating and helpful. We always travel with our 2 small dogs so a dog park is important to us. The dog "park" here is a joke. A small patch of gravel which contains 2 large dumpsters and a huge pile of rocks as well as visitor parking. Have to cross the highway to get to a decent dog walking area. This park was extremely clean, the camp hosts, two of which we met, were very nice. They couldn't do enough for us. This place was extremely accommodating. Even though it was cement city! It was within walking distance of a few restaurants and we could walk to the beach; but, it was quite a hike. This is not right on the water as the pictures might lead you to believe. The only surprising aspect of this was, that there was a fee for the showers. You can wash your RV in this park as long as you have a nozzle that will shut off while you're doing your scrubbing, etc. We were charged extra for one day because there was a Pirate Festival in town. That was a joke! There should've been an extra charge for that event. It consisted of maybe 25 vendors (at the most), two small bands, and nothing else. This was very down home. Cute festival but nothing to warrant an extra charge at the RV park. There were not a lot of crowds; the parking lot wasn't even full; this is just a small town, local event. read more

Horrible experience!! My fiancé and I were looking at the cute manufactured homes for sale there and the Manger Linda was awful! She made us feel like a waste of time then had us get in the golf cart to drive up the hill, I got in first and wasn't even seat belted in while my fiancé was about to sit down she drove off without even asking or seeing if we were in or buckled up, she ran over his foot I yelled for her to stop while he was grimacing in pain I said we were done and he said how ridiculous it was and she said yes it was ridiculous and drive off didn't even see if he was ok, I talked to a man Ken about it and HE apologized and said when he gets back to town he would show us the mobiles, Ken seems nice over phone but Linda was awful!!
