I'm torn because it wasn't the fault of the staff, it was the owner sat at a table drinking, eating and having a grand ole time with the Westbrook chamber of commerce whilst his staff were in the weeds. This review is based solely off of this one order. I will do another review on their pizza in the future. (Personally, I think their pizza is the way to go!) I got super excited when I saw this sandwich. Look at the size of it! Unfortunately, once I started eating it, I was less of a fan. It has some serious potential, but a few tweaks are needed. The first suggestion should be easily identified; the bread to filling ratio is off. All of the ingredients are fresh and delicious but they are lost in the sea of focaccia. Maybe I made the wrong bread choice? Second, it needs some sort of dressing to complete it. The mouthful of bread and melted cheese was almost a choking hazard. The pickle was awesome and the chips were a nice pairing. The order was done at the time they told me it would be and I was in and out quickly. The parking lot could use more room. It wasn't the easiest to maneuver a van around in it. It seemed made more for compact cars, but I made due. read more

This is the 2nd time I've ordered delivery from PPC and gotten something completely different sent out... I've enjoyed other Portland Pie locations, but the Westbrook location is so consistently bad with their service, the quality of their food and the fact that if you order delivery, that food isn't guaranteed to be correct, but you've got a fantastic chance of it arriving stone cold. I know Westbrook has limited delivery options compared to Portland, but do yourself a favor and just cross this place off the list. If you can, learn to drive and go get your food somewhere else... if you can't drive, learn to cook and make something yourself... if you can't cook, just grab some cardboard out of your recycling and eat that... sure it will be cold and tasteless, just like Westbrook's Portland Pie offerings, but at least the cold cardboard is free and you won't have to wait around for an incompetent crew to make it and send it out twice. And a phone call to get someone to come out front. (I hung up without saying anything because I thought it was quite ridiculous they answered the phone and still didn't notice us standing there) we left and went to fajita grill.... Leaving this review in hopes the owners are now aware of the lack of customer service being given when they are clearly not around. So apparently there are $3 brunch Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. It's too bad our server never told us that upon seating us on a Sunday afternoon. It's a bummer to hear that from the bartender after your eaten and paid a pretty penny for mediocre food and super expensive local beer ($7.00 a glass!) Our server was nice, but clueless. On Sunday brunch day, servers should know EXACTLY what they are offering, what the specials are, and be ready to push them. My chicken tenders were burnt and my fries were tasteless. My partner's salad was the best thing on the table. Good pizza with a huge selection of toppings and fun combinations. We had the mushroom goat cheese and the chicken tikka (special). Both were very good and nice unique combinations. I ordered via DoorDash for pick up and did need to call the restaurant to confirm the order. It didn't show that the order was in process until after I'd called. I'd waited a good 15-20 minutes before placing the call and the woman that picked up mentioned that they were really busy that night so I assume they were not checking the DoorDash orders as often. Parking was difficult on a Saturday evening, but we eventually found a parallel spot in front. The lot behind and to the side of the restaurant were both filled. Overall a good experience and I look forward to trying more of their pizza options. read more

We've been in here A LOT since we moved to the area a month ago. It's walkable from our house, so it's super convenient. We've had a lot of really great meals here - except for last Sunday (5/6). I meant to call the manager the next day, but forgot, so that's my bad for not mentioning it sooner. The service was AWFUL. We ordered drinks and a slice. The slices (which are in the case, folks... shouldn't have to wait more than 5 mins for you to pull them out...) came out before the drinks (Wha???) and that took over 15 minutes. There were 2 or 3 other couples there who had the same experience. So, that's over and done with and I can get on with reviewing my other meals there... great pizza! The side salads are the best side salad ever. It's chock full of real veggies, not just your average wet lettuce and a single cucumber slice... none of that rubbish... it's got broccoli, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, loads of tomato and cucumber. Sarnies are meh. Leave the brisket in the kitchen (the server admitted that they don't have the right equipment to make it great -- so... if it ain't great, don't make it). They do make great pizza, but only get a slice if it's freshly cooked. The manager is spot on when it comes to making things right. Had a much better experience this past Friday night at Westbrook Portland Pie. Sat at the bar, and were well taken care of by the bartender-didn't catch her name-but she was attentive. They had a full house. We shared a pie, half and half on the toppings, and it came out steaming hot and fresh. The beer dough is to die for. My hubby had a couple beers, the lady behind the bar recommended a nice dark ipa that he had never had, but was very happy with. We were happy to return and have a good experience, and great food! We plan on coming back since we live right in the neighborhood! read more

No, there were only 4 other parties in the place. Was the food worth the wait, though? I ordered a dagwood, which came on a basic sub roll, warmed for about 30 seconds under a heat lamp. The cheese was barely melted. For this utterly underwhelming fare, they wanted the princely sum of $10.99. I wouldn't pay $5 for it had I seen it beforehand. Of course, the slice of pizza that arrived was dry as a bone, to boot. Like I said in my previous review, I feel like I'm interrupting their good time when I go there, so I'm just going to let the staff continue partying and not bother them anymore. Tonight was wonderful. My two children, parents and I went in for dinner. They told us they had a 25 min wait to be seated because there were only the two of them working. Amy went so far above and beyond to make us comfortable and the night easy, without us asking her to do anything. They are so understaffed right now, but the workers there are really giving 110% to accommodate everyone who walks in. If I could give Amy 1,000 stars, I would. Thank you you much!! Came here with co-workers ahead of a work meeting. The place was emptier than I like but for a Wednesday at 5pm I wasn't overly surprised. The pizza choices were creative and fun, with some great options for vegetarians. To be fair this review is colored by the fact that our group emphatically agreed on both pizzas, one of them white, which is something that never happens to me in groups like this, so hurrah. Both pizzas - the Mexican street corn and "Great Diamond" (named for an island here, and made with garlic, olive oil, sliced tomato, feta, sweet basil and cheese -- were tasty, with a great blend of crust well-cooked and a great balance of ingredients. I've ordered take out from Portland Pie Co. a few times over the last couple of months. each time, I ordered the Acadia Turkey Apple sandwich on the Basil focaccia bread. The bread is amazing and the sandwiches are big enough to potentially last two meals. Each time I've ordered, the wait was only about 20 minutes (pretty good all things considered with COVID). Their hummus platter is also good, but I found it on the pricey side. I've yet to try their pizza, but I don't think there is a place in town that makes a better sandwich. read more

I'm not sure why I was ever excited to try this place. Just gave it a second chance, and the pizza was rather gross - barely a step above Pizza Hut. This company makes the beer pizza dough that I buy in the grocery store, which is a night-and-day better product than what they produce in the restaurant. The frozen ball makes yeasty, soft and puffy crust (when it cooperates with the stretching process), while the "real" experience in the restaurant presents a flat (in shape and taste) and bone-dry disk. I even had them pull it early, which saved it from being a flat, bone-dry, burnt disk (barely), but that was little improvement. I have never tried one of those Walmart, premade pizzas to go, where the main ingredient is "pressed breadcrumbs", but this is what I always imagined it tasted like. Now, the toppings seemed fresh and flavorful. So that's something. Both the waiter and bartender were friendly and personable.The beer was...limited and pricy, but helped the cracker-like crust wash down without choking*. Overall, I have no idea how they stay in business with so many other options within walking distance, and the Sebago Tasting Room a two minute drive away (a completely opposite experience). In fact, I found myself here tonight because the Tasting Room is closed on Mondays. Next time I'm just staying home. *If you think I'm being dramatic, try it out without liquid, I dare you. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. After telling us that our wait would be 45 minutes on this Friday night, the hostess suggest we try another restaurant next door. It was fully booked, so we decided to wait for a table at PP. I mentioned that today is our 43rd anniversary. A table quickly opened up and we were seated. Our appetizer and pizza were delicious, as were the beerand wine we chose. Just as we were about to pay the bill, the hostess/server brought us a beautiful, huge piece of chocolate cake to celebrate our anniversary. Terrible service and mediocre overpriced food. We ate dinner here last night and the service was absolutely awful. Our waitress brought our appetizers but didn't bother to bring silverware or napkins so I had to get up and get them myself. After finishing our appetizers we waited close to 30 minutes for our entrees. When we asked the waitress what was taking so long she completely dismissed us saying "it's Friday night, we're busy". They were not that busy at all. It was only 6pm and the restaurant was half full. We continued to wait but our food did not come out so we went to the counter to speak to the manager. By now we had been there close to an hour and still not eaten our entrees so we asked him to box it up so we could take it to go. He was as unfriendly and dismissive as the waitress. There were only about 5 other people in the entire place so you wouldn't think the service would be an issue. The service was very slow and at one point I thought they had even forgotten about us. Had a meeting in Portland and we ordered about 10 pizzas from Portland Pie Westbrook. The pies showed up on time & hot. Unfortunately it just isn't good pizza, cardboard crust, no flavor toppings. I think frozen super market pizza would be better. Maybe the should narrow the options, one crust is enough , focus on one. Better quality toppings & sauce? Idk they were so flavorless. I enjoyed the pizza here. We had the roni-mozzarella pizza and the pepperoni was hand-cut and very tasty, and the Moosehead (supreme) pizza which was also great. I thought the crust was really decent as well. However, the service here sucked. Sucked, sucked, sucked. Our diva server took like 10 minutes to even take our drink order; then she messed that up; then she didn't take our order when she brought out the drinks; then she didn't get the order right; then she didn't bring out a salad with our order; then we had to flag down another server to get our bill. I keep giving this place a try and I'm continually disappointed. Ordered chicken fingers and fries along with my beer -- a pretty simply order. The chicken fingers were barely cooked through enough to be safe, let alone crispy, and the fries were so undercooked they were pale, limp, and soggy. In fact, it almost appeared as if they were pulled out of the frier way too soon, then thrown on a flat top for 30 seconds as sections of the fries and chicken fingers were burnt while the rest of the food was undercooked. Considering there were only three tables of patrons at the time, there was no excuse for this lack of quality other than laziness or outright ineptitude. In a previous visit I ordered a whole pizza, only to receive a pizza with a crust that was flat and cracking as if old dough had been used. If you want to waste your money here, go for it. I've personally given it enough chances that I doubt I'll be back until the place has better management / quality / food preparers (Calling them cooks would be an insult to restaurant workers everywhere). read more

Do not go to the Westbrook Portland Pie Co. Ever. Not even the day after the zombie apocalypse. Not even if you have to trap a wild turkey, kill it and eat it raw. PPCo is the hair shirt of pizza joints - punishment for the sin of thinking the menu will deliver any more than styrofoamy chicken chunks served on a cheesy, diaper-warm dough. The tables are dirty. You will have another birthday before the mediocre food limps out of the kitchen. And for a fleeting moment it must occur to you, someone has tampered with your food. You know, dirty, dirty, dirty... The service is lousy. Kid friendly? Awesome place for date night? Um, not so much. Portland is a very competitive eating market so rest assured there are much better options than PPCo. In fact, thanks to the modern convenience called the telephone, instead of volunteering to serve some sort of twisted penance by eating at PPCo, you could have a better experience if you were to park your car in the PPCo parking lot, called Dominoes and had it delivered. Dominoes will be cheaper, they'll hustle and say thank you. Dominoes delivers, PPCo doesn't. Last evening, my wife and I went to the Westbrook PPCo. We sat at a stand up table at the bar (after using my shirt sleeve to wipe the crumbs off of it). It wasn't busy (and now we know why) but many people were waiting for food, for checks to pay for food and for boxes to take home food. People just like us. People like you could be if you chose this slow moving version of hell on earth. It took 15 minutes to be acknowledged and order a drink. When the drinks arrived, we ordered sandwiches. Not pizza. Sandwiches. There was no follow up service; however, our waitress did have enough time to go to the bar and make drinks for her friends. She also dropped a bottle of wine on the floor before retreating for a smoke break. Can't confirm she washed her hands. Broken glass spoils my appetite. After waiting over 30 minutes for food, I went to the bar to tell her to forget it. Magically, our food appeared from the kitchen. Apparently this happens so much, the manager gets involved as he was the one who brought it to the table. Then PPCo showed its true colors. Instead of apologizing or offering us an appeasement, the waitress insulted my wife (awesome tip enhancing move...) and the manager 'reminded me' according to his system we 'only waited' 36 minutes. That 36 minutes AFTER the 15 minute wait to be served. You could be in and out of the nearby Ruby Tuesdays twice in the same amount of time spend less and have a better experience. Here's the bottom line. If you want to have a night out with the family where the tables are dirty, the food is mediocre (at best) and the server insults your family, then this is your place. And if you think it will change, it won't. The chain has been the same for 15 years. How the front line staff treats its customers speaks directly to how they are hired and trained by the back of the house. By the looks of the other lousy reviews (bug in a salad?), this has been a pattern for years. Where competition cures complacency, for the same money, you could have a much better experience by simply walking across the street to the Frog and Turtle. read more

Menu, table & condiment jars were dirty & sticky. Expensive for pizza & salad at lunch. Beer dough has unique flavor and is enjoyable. Been a few years since I had stopped in.
