This location is conveniently off of Oleander Drive and the ambience is welcoming. Nice if you wanted to set up and do some work a large open area in my caramel Leche did not disappoint. That is the key with franchises that the consistent flavor of your go to drinks. read more

I always love going to this PCJ! The employees here are friendly, helpful, and provide recommendations for drinks! The drinks themselves are really good, I especially love the chai tea. However, I was really disappointed to come in the other day and find that it wasn't decorated for pride month. The bakery cases are always drawn on, and PCJ has celebrated pride month in the past. I was extremely upset and sad to hear that PCJ won't be decorating the store this year, and it made me lose a sense of pride and support from them. Amazing employees, wonderful drinks, but really a shame to see such a prideless store. read more

I am constantly going to PCJ and have racked up an unmentionable total spent in my rewards app. The staff are always friendly and almost always get orders right. The few times there have been mistakes, they quickly change out the order. All the PCJs started using sippy-cup lids, which I'm not a fan of. So, sometimes I'll ask for a dome lid and then put a straw in it. One qualm I have with PCJ is that they put a ton of crushed ice in their drinks. I love really strong Americanos, and am always disappointed when they end up being watered down because of the ice. Still, the positives by far outweigh the negatives. I've spent hours here without anyone batting an eye. They have an awesome rewards app. You get $5 for every $100 spent and get bonuses when you hit benchmarks. After a certain threshold of spending, you get bonuses on your birthday and on the anniversary downloading the app. If you're a regular PCJ patron, you should check it out. read more

I have loved their hot mocha lattes since day one Since the very beginning They make the best hot mocha lattes Small to extra large with Ghirardelli's chocolate- So yummy I have been going to Port City Java since the day they opened. And when I moved to Atlanta Ga I missed them so much I told them they needed to move their when I lived there I didn't like their competition! Lol lol- But on a cold crisp day in the winter you just need a hot mocha latte from a Port city Java! Coffee is awesome but service is not so good. There seems to be sn issue with mobile orders. One day it was the "tape" that jammed, so the order did not print out. I placed an order the next day and still no mobile order for me.I don't think anybody knows when a mobile order comes in unfortunately. read more

Highly overrated. Bakery items have no soul. No chutzpah. I have a wicked sweet tooth and can't bring myself to choose anything. The best thing about the places are the seating. You can linger for hours, even days perhaps. The coffee is hardly passable. Often bitter and uninspiring. This Port City Java recently opened, and it's much bigger than the older one on Oleander was. I give it two thumbs up, five stars, and an A+ for all-around goodness. There a couple of cozy seating areas where you can vedge-out while you take in your java or what-have-you. There are also plenty of seats next to outlets, so students and laptop peeps can do their business like it's nobody's business. During our visits, the store was very clean overall, and the staff was friendly. I like that they recycle their cups and lids; you just have to ask them. The seasonal lattes are always good, and their flavored coffees are nice and strong. The Java Shake is "da bomb," as is the Mocha Shake and pretty much any of their speciality drinks. Their double-chocolate muffins are yummy, but I think my favorite bakery item is the crumb cake. This is a good place to meet-up with friends, or just to have a relaxing sit-down solo. I highly recommend that you check this out, if you're in the area or just driving by. read more

It seems that no matter which PCJ I go to; Wilmington, Belleville, Hampstead, Jacksonville, they all are great places and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. The coffee is consistently good (so are the chocolate milkshakes!) and the general coziness of the places just adds to the experience. Unlike a competitor whose national brand is all too well known, PCJ does not overbrew; also their staff is much more friendly than ANY of the competitors I've been in across the country. read more

Stopped here this morning for a local coffee while visiting the Beach. Great selection of drinks and flavors. We were greeted with a friendly smile and customer service was fantastic - even with my questions and special request. Prices were quite reasonable and the surroundings were pleasant. Will definitely return when I'm back in the area. I got a sugar-free white chocolate decaf latte iced. Very yummy! read more

Service has become impossibly slow. I've historically always come here to support a local business but it's not worth it anymore. Please staff these locations up to support a decent customer experience or consolidate shops. It's way faster to hit one of the new large Starbucks by Mayfaire or the mall. read more

This used to be my favorite coffee shop in town, but it has now become the most unreliable coffee shop in town. They frequently close their dining room and operate drive-thru only with no notice/reason/pattern. They also tend to be out of certain products for days on end. I have tried many times to give this place second and even third chances, but when you can't rely on the store being open or even having a basic product in stock, it's just not worth it anymore. read more

2/15/2019 at 10:45 AM - 1 Star only because I had to. I work near this PCJ. I'm actually in the store at least once a week (3 times this week). I never walk out feeling like an appreciated customer. Today I went for a breakfast sandwich. I ordered and the cashier asked if it was "to go" and I said yes (she was pleasant). When the sandwich came it was on a plate so I asked if it could be wrapped to go as I had asked at the counter. The plate was pulled back behind the prep wall and then wrapped and handed to me (no words exchanged). I said "thank you" and still no words in return. I made eye contact and said "thank you" again. The dark haired lady making my sandwich looked at me with disdain on her face and said "No, thank you, have a good day" as though she really would like to say "Go F--- Yourself". Terrible, terrible customer service. read more

A top-notch coffeehouse. I dropped by while passing through Wilmington, and was glad I did. Great coffee, a chill environment, a sunny patio, attentive staff who got my Americano just how I wanted it -- magnifique! Plus, they didn't kick me out when I lounged around the place for a couple hours, lost in coffee and lunch and a good book. If I find myself in Wilmington again, I'll gladly return for seconds. On our last 3 visits before yesterday we had to throw away our coffee after one sip twice, so last time we asked how old it was, answer was 2 hours and 45 minutes so we walked out. Went there yesterday December 10th at 12:34 PM. We asked how old the coffee was, the answer was it was made at 10:30 AM and it had one more hour before they would throw it away, so again we walked out. Woman at cash register was rude & nasty. This location and the one in Hampstead are horrible and both should be avoided. I hope they go out of business. read more

When you are from the North and accustomed to Tim Horton's - coming to any of these locations is always different and unique. They may not all be top notch, but a trip to Wilmington without a stop for some coffee would be a huge mistake! read more

The location of these shops is always so convenient! The only downside is there's no order ahead option (Ahh Starbucks!!) but if you can stand to wait, the quality is always so much better. The barista's are always friendly and willing to give a suggestion. The interior of this spot is GREAT. It's a very upbeat and welcoming place. Oh! And it's local. read more

The prices are a bit steep, but the baristas are great at this location! When you go through the drive-thru, you will probably be kidded around with by one of the baristas. They can be a hoot! Dylan is a favorite barista. He friendly and charismatic. The best smoothie I can recommend is the green wave! Their wraps and sandwiches are also delicious. I really love the chicken salad sandwich. I hardly ever like chicken salad but this sandwich is delicious! read more

I just went through the drive-thru to get a Slush n Joe. The girl was extremely rude and seemed irritated right off the bat. She has long, dark, and curly hair and wears a lot of eye makeup. I got pumpkin in it and asked for a large and for cinnamon. I got maybe 1 pump of pumpkin, it was barely noticeable at all and virtually flavorless with much less coffee than usual. There was no cinnamon. It wasn't a large size. I didn't realize until I got to the grocery store that my drink was wrong and I had a car full of kids. So I called them to let them know they ruined my order and I was less than stoked about it and would be coming back. Met with total rudeness again. I wasn't able to get back and get my correct order because... kids. Mind you I'm a barista and have been for 13 years. I know the in's and out's and I've also worked for PCJ twice in the past. This was unacceptable. But I will make sure to frequent another location next time. Money completely wasted, I threw my drink in the trash and had been looking forward to it all day.
