It seems that no matter which PCJ I go to; Wilmington, Belleville, Hampstead, Jacksonville, they all are great places and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. The coffee is consistently good (so are the chocolate milkshakes!) and the general coziness of the places just adds to the experience. Unlike a competitor whose national brand is all too well known, PCJ does not overbrew; also their staff is much more friendly than ANY of the competitors I've been in across the country.

Pumpkin Pie Latte, yummy tea, a crumb cake and a blueberry scone. Relaxing atmosphere, too!

This genuinely might have been the best coffee I've had! I got the red velvet latte, and while it…read morewasn't necessarily red, it tasted like a rich and delicious mocha. The chocolate shavings on top really put it over the edge for me and made it extra tasty. The girl behind the counter was so sweet and helpful as well, and had our drinks out pretty quickly. The inside is very cute and has a decent amount of seating. If I lived closer I'd be here all the time!

When I'm on vacation, I always love trying new coffee shops, and I was excited when I came across…read morethis one. Maven takes a different approach to coffee, skipping the standard heavy syrup you find in most places and instead focusing on carefully crafted pieces of art. I would describe their style as a hybrid between the craftsmanship of fine dining, the flavor blending of craft cocktails, all wrapped up in an artistic display. The people working here are skilled and very friendly and happy to explain their menu My wife had the campfire latte, which was a gentle s'mores flavor with freshly crumbled graham cracker topping in a marshmallow they toasted right in front of you as a top. Most importantly, it was very coffee forward on flavor with very minimal but appropriate use of sweetening flavors. I had the chocolate cherry truffle latte, which was again very coffee forward with very subtle and perfectly balanced flavors. Most interestingly, the drinks were a very fair price, because with this level of artistry in presentation you'd expect it to be expensive. This was a great little stop on vacation, and if I was local I would come more often. They are definitely stepping out of the mold of the traditional mainstream coffee shop, And doing a great job.
