Port City Java (Leland) mirror decor with a reflection of me taking the photo :)

Port City Java was just what I needed to get my hump day morning started off right! I wasn't aware until recently that there is a location in Leland which is incredibly convenient for those in the area who don't want to have to cross the bridge! The coffee shop is currently decked out in Fall and Halloween decor which, for my favorite time of year, made me feel right at home. I took my first sip of the gingerbread chai in the car and immediately did a little dance at the stop light. Chai can taste a little different from shop to shop, but this drink had a wonderful flavor balance of the brightness of gingerbread and sweetness of chai. Also, how fun is this Port City Java mirror frame?!

Great menu for different variety of coffee. Clean, great staff & good prices. Right off HWY 17 South in Waterford shopping center. Check them out!!

We stop by hear as it's close to our family's place (really it's the only coffee shop). Good for my experience with PCJ! Decent coffee (pretty run of the mill automatic espresso) with a variety of blended options. Some tasty breakfast sandwich/wrap items and baked goods. Great staff who are friendly and attentive. We tend to go here quite a bit when in NC!

Other than Bitty & Beau's, my favorite place for coffee (unless I'm making it at home). Wonderful folks at any of their locations and delicious treats to go along with your cup of joe. The location on Market Street is very close to The Bridge Church ILM and is VERY busy on Sunday, but they always have a smile. To let you know how often I've been there on Sundays, I walk in and they immediately begin making a LARGE chocolate milkshake (don't be hating, it's caffeine too!). I've hit the PCJ in Hampstead and Jacksonville as well and always have a great experience.

5 stars for good coffee and quality toilet paper. Smaller joint with a small bar to sit at.

The hostess was very accommodating, personally walked us to our seats, and the staff remembered that we were celebrating. They surprised us with two complimentary glasses of Prosecco, which were crisp, clean, and delicious. That thoughtful gesture alone meant so much to us. Afterward, I ordered an Old Fashioned, and my husband ordered the guava margarita. We couldn't stop laughing when the drinks arrived because everyone naturally assumed the margarita was mine and the Old Fashioned was his--but we like to switch things up! Both drinks were delicious. I'm particular about Old Fashioneds and whiskey sours. When one is made properly, there is a certain aroma that lets me know before I even taste it--and this Old Fashioned absolutely passed my personal test. It was perfectly made and strong enough that, after the Prosecco, I knew one was all I needed if we were going to walk into dinner with some sense! The aviation-inspired atmosphere made the experience even better. My husband is a pilot, so he especially enjoyed the Concorde theme, the aircraft-window views, and the simulation that made it feel as though the plane was moving and landing. The ambiance, drinks, and hospitality were all excellent. Thank you to the staff for remembering our celebration and making us feel special. The next time we're in Wilmington--or anywhere nearby--we will definitely stop in again!

I really wanted to love Concorde Express Bar because I had heard so much hype about it, but…read moreunfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The scenery and atmosphere are definitely cute and make for some great pictures, but the overall experience was a little disappointing. We visited during the summer and got the s'mores kit, which sounded like it would be so much fun, but unfortunately, the little fire they brought out didn't work, so we couldn't even enjoy it. Their most famous drink was also not good at all. The only drink I really enjoyed was the watermelon drink, which came with a popsicle in it--that was actually pretty cool! The prices were extremely high for what we got, although that seems to be pretty common at a lot of places in Wilmington. I'd be willing to give it another chance during the winter because I could see the atmosphere being much better then. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, though, and definitely deserves some credit! Overall, I just left feeling pretty disappointed because I expected more based on all the hype.

Truly impressed! I…read morelove the decor, layout, and most certainly the outdoor seating area. There can't be another outdoor area quite like this one. It makes you feel like you're in the middle of a mini jungle, but in a good way. Customer service was excellent! The barista greeted us all with a smile and was very patient as we ordered our drinks. The coffee was delightful, and they use homemade syrups, which is a big plus! I honestly cannot wait to come back and visit again. If you're in the area, please do yourself a favor and check this place out.

We ordered a cappuccino, a latte, a zucchini muffin, and a cheese biscuit. The bill came to $29, including a $5 tip. The cappuccino was tiny and tasted like lukewarm burnt dirt with a faint Starbucks aftertaste (I hate Starbucks). My wife said the latte was merely okay. The zucchini muffin and cheese biscuit were both terrible--almost certainly baked sometime last week. Even after we warmed them in the microwave, one bite was enough. Dry, stale, and with a flavor that's hard to describe without being unkind. The music was so loud at 7 a.m. on a holiday Monday that you had to shout at the baristas to be heard. And that "beautiful" outdoor area? Every seat and table was wet. Nothing had been wiped down. Hard to believe this place sits at 4.9 stars. I'm doing them a favor by giving them two. Just another mediocre Wilmington spot that's easy to skip next time.
