Obsessed with the bagels here! Their scallion cream cheese is so flavorful. They also produce bagels every 10 mins. We got our pack of 6 -- it was so fresh and delicious. Will be coming back for my next bagel fix!

    Scallion cream cheese

Definitely not what I was expecting from a new bagel shop, but I appreciate that they are doing their own signature thing! It was a bustling shop with a trendy interior and sidewalk seating. There was a line, but it moved quickly. We came by for breakfast on the weekend and I was confused at first at how the ordering went. They don't just sell singular bagels, but bagel "packs'. The smallest pack is three bagels, and it comes with a sizeable cream cheese. It's great to share! I was a little bummed about their cream cheese selections, as they had a lot more sweet flavors than savory. I did hear that they rotate flavors, so I'll have to keep an eye on the latest offerings. I got the scallion cream cheese and it was delicious! As far as the bagels, they have limited flavors. Salt, poppy, sesame and everything. I actually LOVED the salt flavor! The bagels themselves have a nice outer crunch, and soft middle. I also love that they serve them warm. Their whole thing is you "rip and dip". I was not mad at it! Just know before you go that you won't get a bagel sandwich. Lox can be purchased on the side. The bagels are served unsliced, not sure if that is an option. I actually got in line twice, and was helped by two different cashiers. One was great, the other was not. They also only serve hot coffee. I wished they had an iced option! All in all, I will be back. I really thought the bagels and schmear were delicious.

Attended the grand opening for this location for a pop up and collab with Patrick Ta and sampled the bagels and strawberry shortcake schmear. This location is known for their "rip and dip concept" where you rip and dip your bagel. They only offer a couple of flavored bagels, they only do bagels, no sandwiches. Only caveat is that you cannot buy just one bagel you have to purchase a minimum of 3 so if you purchase bagels and schmear you will be spending a minimum of $15-17. There is no seating inside but they have a few tables and chairs outside but I got my food to go. There is metered street parking but it can be limited depending when you go. The staff were lovely and a vibe! They were welcoming and friendly and it was such a great experience. Did I forget to mention the bagels are amazing!! They were fresh, hot, chewy inside and a perfect crunch outside and the schmear was great I just was expecting bits of strawberry and more potent strawberry taste as it was very subtle. Since they have a limited menu option with bagel choices and only offering bagels, I'm looking forward to the expectation that these schmears need to be A1!! I'm expecting other schmears to rock my tastebuds! So I can't wait to go back and sample other flavors.

    Strawberry shortcake shmear

I don't get the appeal of Popup Bagels. You could do the rip/dip method at home for much cheaper. I could understand purchasing shmear here due to the unique rotating flavor options not available at grocery stores, but the strawberry shortcake flavor I tried did not even taste like strawberry. No strawberry fruits, purées, or even jam was in the shmear. There were pieces of cake, but when I tried those bits on their own there was no flavor. It tasted like plain cream cheese. Sure, the bagels come out warm, but they don't offer toasting. And there are no bagel sandwiches on the menu. And they do not have the option to order a single bagel, you have to order at least 3. Don't come here and get "ripped" off

First time attempting to try this place - I wanted a bagel sandwich and was willing to spend $ 15 or more but they do not offer any. Next I tried to just get 1 bagel but they only sell bundles of 3 or more - very weird concept- they wound up handing me one everything bagel and I left - I wish them luck but I wont be back until they offer some kind of lox sandwich !

Some thick, some thin, no holes and mostly holes...
    Danna H.

I don't want to be rude but this place is kind of an abomination of a bagel shop. As other reviews state, you can't buy one or two bagels, you have to buy 3. And of those three, you might get a thick one, you might get a very thin one, you might get one with no hole, and you might get one that is mostly hole. Add to it that you get one schmear, and have to pay $8 for another one... I just think it's a very ballsy concept for being a hop, skip and a jump down the street from one of the best bagel shops in LA (that is happy to sell you just one bagel and lets you choose different schmears for each bagel you order). Always happy to try new places but this is not for me.

I don't give many 5-star reviews, but... Great new bagel spot on the Blvd! Fresh and delicious. These guys are from New York so they know what they're doing. Great service and selection. No sandwiches, toasters, etc - just fresh, HOT (hard to hold) bagels. Unique cream cheese flavors flown in from NY. I tried an Everything bagel with a scallion schmear, fantastic! I ate it 'Pop Up style' - you tear off pieces of the bagel and dip them in the tub of cream cheese... no knife needed. I used to think Western Bagel was the best around, now I'm not so sure.

3 Pack of Bagels & 2 Schmears brown butter and chive
    Jennifer Z.

We got 3 bagel and schmear combo with an extra schmear because my bf does not like cream cheese. We loved that they had a cinnamon brown butter option for people who don't use cream cheese! It was so good! I ended up using both schmears since I got the chive. Parking there was easy which was great and we were able to snag a seat out front with no issue. Customer service was awesome. Everyone was so nice. It was our first time at a popup bagel so we didn't know what to order and Matt helped us pick our schmears and bagels. One regret was not getting more bagels in my combo! They were so hot and fresh, we ate all of them and now have delicious schmear leftover we need to use on more bagels! Guess we gotta go get more!

Today was the PopUp Bagels, Studio City Grand Opening!!! I'm so happy that I was able to stop by and give them a try after hearing all the great reviews about them. PopUp Bagels was originally founded by Adam Goldberg from New Jersey and later he created the bagels in Westport, Connecticut in 2020 so they've been around for a good 6 years in select locations. They are known for their freshly baked hot bagels right out of the oven served with a side of different flavored spreads or "schmears" as they are also referred to. You Grip, Rip & Dip into the spreads. You can also buy a side of smoked salmon or other fish they may have that day. I arrived around 12:30pm and was surprised to only have 3 people ahead of me in line. I was told they were super busy in the morning when they first opened. Brittany S. took my order and she was so sweet and had a big welcoming smile on her face! I felt bad for the staff working inside because it was so hot! They all did a great job of keeping the line moving and I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. I ordered 2 plain bagels and 1 poppy seed bagel with a side of the scallion spread. WOW!!! The bagels were amazing! Very tasty. The scallion spread was also delicious! I loved the texture of the bagels. A different level of flavor compared to the usual bagels you buy out in California. Much better! They have quite a few tables and chairs outside of their store with some umbrellas to shade the sun. It was busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying their bagels and chatting. I lucked out and found a parking spot on the street close to the store. I'm so excited that we finally have an east coast bagel place to enjoy on the west coast! Wishing them all the best! They will do great! Make sure you take a look at the on-line menu ahead of time to get familiar with what they have. Enjoy!

The I have no life on a 6am Sunday line...me included.

Went day after opening at 6am open time on Sunday, already 30 people waiting in line to eat bread. Yes, this is what society +yours truly has been reduced to for therapy. After trying out in Oceanside fiending for it again. Was out the door in 20 minutes, they work very fast extremely polite and engaging too. Can't get enough of the club music even at 6am love it. Very basic flavors, my fave is the everything. Nice to see clean and courteous employees from order takers to givers, without bull rings or post malone faces. Its so good, crispy out and puffy steamy inside the offspring of cooked to order bagels.

    Salt bagel and everything bagel
    Sophia J.

Salt bagel was very nice. Everything bagel was TOO salty. Idk if someone accidentally pour more salt or what, but it was so salty. I brought it home and ate it so didn't have chance to tell them.

I grabbed an onion bialy with cream cheese, and I am still thinking about it hours later. The flavor was unreal. It tasted like the best part of French onion soup, just without the soup. Rich, savory, and perfect with the cream cheese. Blissful is the only word that fits. My youngest went with an everything bagel, plain, and she lit up after the first bite. Soft, squishy, exactly how she likes it. She looked at me and said, "Dad, how come you haven't brought me here before?" I told her that sometimes, for great things, you have to wait in life. We also grabbed the nectar of the gods (Diet Coke) and an apple juice. Out of the five times I have picked up bagels here (ordered online and in person), only two have been correct. Three times I have brought home my orders open them up to find a missing topping. Today it was cream cheese. Last time it was avocado (a pricey loss). The people putting together the bagels need to be more conscientious about what they're doing and double-checking their accuracy. Also, the manager should be checking the order before it goes out. This is happening far too frequently for a To-Go food shop.
