Yep, yes, yeah! Popston is a great find for gelato, popsicles, and Mexican paletas including a ton of dairy free flavors (and even a special pop treat for dogs!) When I asked for help identifying some dairy free options, the woman behind the counter was so helpful. She immediately directed me to the "fruity pops" section of the menu and even offered to bring me a special passion fruit flavor that they only had in the back. I ended up going with the rodeo clown pop, despite her warm offer, which is a mixture of multiple fruit flavors and comes in fun marbled rainbow color. I was a little worried that it would be kind of icy without dairy but it was definitely not. It was super smooth and creamy and was just perfect. I'm definitely glad that I stopped by and will definitely be back. Five stars for sure! read more

Came here after the pizza at neighbors and I have to say I was mighty surprised. We had been featuring Morelia paletas in Rice Village ever since the Yelp event but this place could stand on its own and has. The ice cream flavors were very unique and all of the paletas and pops had their own unique flavor. My kid got bubble gum and it was blue and I was skeptical but it was actually quite tasty. Service is a person lot even behind the counter with a Toast machine checking you out but also scooping ice cream. Smallest space ever and there's no space to eat inside BUT the building is open if you want some coverage. Parking for the entire place is a small parking lot in the back or free street parking. Love the art work on the building as it stands out with all the vibrant colors. Service was great and our attendant was very helpful. The menu consists of both gelato and sorbet pops. Today I tried the blueberry mojito and I was in love. You can tell they use only fresh ingredients that you can taste in every bite. Popston was the perfect pit stop to our bike ride through Houston in the summer. We were amazed by the beautiful painting and decor outside the shop and were greeted by the super friendly cashier. This being our first time, he walked us through the flavor options kindly. We order the cookie butter and sorbet popsicles, and both were SO amazing. The cookie butter one was creamy, yet still refreshing. Any cookie butter lovers will fall in love with this popsicle. The sorbet one was also very clean and refreshing with various tropical fruit flavors embedded in the popsicle. Overall price is okay -- not cheap for sure. Their popsicles are still delicious just like how I remember it. I got the Passion Fruit Guava Popsicle which was apparently a popular option for customers. It was dairy-free, light, refreshing, and perfect for the 100 degree Houston weather. They have gelato pops and popsicles for dogs. They also sell ice cream pints. The popsicle was delicious and I would definitely go back but I'm docking 1 star just because it was $5/popsicle and for me it was expensive but also understandable because it's gourmet popsicle in East Downtown Houston. When you arrive to the place, you can park next to the plant store. My husband and I were not able to go inside the store but they have a walk up window where you order and they have chairs outside with umbrellas if you want to stay and hang out. read more

This place is nestled in a busy st in second waqdi. You have to find Street parking. There's no indoor seating, only outdoor. We walked up to the order window and had to knock several times as no one was manning the front window. They should have a doorbell or something. We finally got someone's attention, had it been easier I would've given 5 stars. Staff was friendly. The strawberry cheesecake was good but the Mexican bananas foster will have me Dreaming about it until I get another.
