This place has everything. All the signs in the world about family, love, being in the south,…read morechildren you name it. Everything here is basically handmade or painted, so it's unique and you won't walk into your neighbors house and find the same setup as the chain retail furniture places. I wasn't sure if I could haggle so I just found something sighing my price range. This place is so cozy it's like each section is a part of your home and you could totally see every single piece in your House. That's amazing. I've lived two minutes a way for 13 years and never took to patronizing the shops on Main more than once. Mainly because I assumed it was out of my price range. But guess what...it isn't and you get what you pay for. And quality costs and here I wouldn't mind. Definitely will return for more goodies. Oh and the sales lady was nice and inviting and very help

There were a couple of ladies circled in the back of the store engaged in conversation. Aside from this intimate circle, no one else was in the store. Also, it is a small store, so you absolutely can see when someone comes in. The cold shoulder led me to leave the store, and visit Kiki's Kottage (which is only a few doors down) where I was promptly and warmly greeted. Kiki's has beautiful pieces, and I purchased a gorgeous buffet there. I had a stellar customer service experience from start to finish at Kiki's. I was prepared to purchase items at Madison's, but too bad no one cared to acknowledge me as a customer whatsoever.

I was illegally removed from Southern Lion in Pineville, NC for having a legitimate ADA-protected…read moreservice dog. A man who identified himself as the person in charge (Harry) repeatedly questioned me about my service animal. I clearly stated multiple times that my dog is a trained service animal -- NOT an ESA -- and that she is ADA compliant. Despite this, he continued to challenge me and ultimately forced me to leave. For the record: Under federal law (Americans with Disabilities Act), businesses are NOT allowed to demand "papers," documentation, or proof for a service animal. They are only permitted to ask two specific questions, both of which I answered correctly. My dog was not disruptive, not on the ground, and not touching anything -- I was actively ensuring she was completely out of the way. This was not about cleanliness or safety. This was ignorance of the law and blatant discrimination against a disabled person. Being publicly questioned, challenged, and removed from a business for using a service animal is humiliating, stressful, and unacceptable -- and it is illegal. If you are disabled, use a service animal, or care at all about accessibility and basic human decency, do not support this business. Southern Lion has made it clear they do not respect federal law or disabled patrons. I will be pursuing further action and strongly encourage others to be aware of their rights before stepping foot here.

Knowing their policy is all sales are final, I went back with the damaged shade to see if the vendor could order another shade and we split the cost. The owner's first response was "how do I know you're telling the truth." She repeated that several times during our discussion. Long story short, she doesn't recall saying that to me... I don't appreciate being accused of lying. If you buy a lamp there, check your lampshade before buying. I'll take my dollars elsewhere.
