Returned for a sweet treat of ice cream, following a trip to the LV Zoo in 80*F weather. It was a pleasant experience and great way to end the day. The ice cream was delicious and promptly made. There is so much to choose from but that just gives us a reason to come back again. I selected a chocolate marshmallow malt milkshake with whipped cream. It was delicious and extremely well blended. I've had the same order at other places where the marshmallow is still chunky. This was smooth and had ample whipped cream on top. My one daughter loved the salted caramel flavor hand-dipped dish. She said it was excellent the way it was, and didn't need any extra toppings. My other daughter had strawberry hand-dipped ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. (Almost like a chocolate covered strawberry.) She enjoyed it and was overjoyed at the amount of sprinkles added to it. We loved the slower pace of being able to sit at the window and watch cars pass as we enjoyed our cool treats in the pleasant atmosphere of the themed and air conditioned dining area. We appreciated the kind service and plan to return again sometime soon. read more

Passing through, we detoured to Kutztown and found this gem. Street parking was easy. There are two parts, an ice cream bar and a restaurant. We sat down for lunch: I ordered a BLT (quite good) and a cappuccino chunk milkshake (superb). Catie was very friendly and efficient and a delight. The walls are covered with memorabilia of the 1950s and 1960s, and music from those years is streamed to add to the great ambience. Made me wish I lived in Kutztown so I could have lunch here once a week. Good value, great food, excellent milkshake. Highly recommended. read more

Great Mom & Pop Ice cream shoppe. The place has this old fashioned look and feel and the ice cream did not disappoint. Went with the Mint Chocolate Chip in a waffle bowl. It was so freaking good! Probably the best ambience for an ice cream shop, old fashioned vibes with little booths on the other side of the store for you to sit and enjoy your food/ice cream. The staff are all super friendly! When I was there, they were making fresh waffle cones and the whole store smelled wonderful. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. I had the butter pecan which was creamy and delicious. We were looking for a new ice cream place to try out and we stumbled upon this gem via Yelp. After seeing the reviews, we decided to make the drive down to Kutztown to give it a whirl. We went on a Friday night and surprisingly we were the only people there when we first arrived. It's not like we came at a weird time, it was dinner time. Eventually some more people filtered in. The theme of this restaurant is very 50's/60's Malt shop (hence the name) The decor follows suit in the theme and is tastefully done. They also have cloth checkerboards on each table in case you want to play a game while you wait.The restaurant kind of has 2 parts. When you walk in the front door you can either go left or right. Left is for just ice cream and candy or right is for sit down service. We decided to eat dinner here first before indulging in the ice cream. The menu is very heavily focused on burgers and fries and those kinds of foods. My family is always alright with that. I have 2 small kids (3 & 5) so we got 2 kids meals for them. They delivered them to our table in some really cool blue cardboard old cars. I've never seen anything like it and it was super cool. My husband and I just got burgers and they came out on these cool plates that were made from old vinyls. Dinner was very good. We would definitely come back. The ice cream was also good. Another Yelpper said that you should skip the meal and just get dessert, and I couldn't agree more. The food at Pop's is tasty, but it isn't particularly stand-out. Most of it is deep-fried items like mac and cheese bites, mozzarella sticks, and french fries. I am confident those came out of a freezer from a big box store or restaurant supplier. It's not fresh, and I honestly do not feel good after eating at Pop's. However, their ice cream is incredible. I love all of their shakes, sundaes, concretes, and treats. They're affordable, fun, and tasty. Pop's is a wonderful ice cream treat on a summer evening. I don't know if it's the best place for dinner. read more

This restaurant could use a DEEP CLEAN. Wiping the tables is not sufficient. There was garbage stuffed into the crevices of our booth and the floors under the tables were littered with trash. If ice cream is what you're in the mood for, Pop's is your place, both for quality and ambiance. There is a fun 50's feeling at Pop's, and a good selection of ice creams. The prices are fair, and there's always a good seat to be had the times I've gone. The only other food I've had there is French Fries, which I was not too thrilled about, but they were edible. I would recommend going in to get to go but not to sit in and eat. The food was okay. misleading pictures on the menu. The problem was the service. Our waitress was rude and not helpful, she could of fixed the attitude. It was a cute shop but honestly the service made it a weird experience. They mess up our order every single time we come and nobody knows how to swirl a soft serve cone without it being half off the cone. If You like funny, then yeah, this is the place. We stopped in on Sunday and I ordered a waffle bowl sundae, with caramel and malt on top, large. The girl was clearly not listening and as about 8 people sitting watching and laughing watched, She made my sundae in A CONE! HUH!?!?!?! I kept thinking that cant be mine as She piled in the ice cream way over the top THEN PUT ON THE CARAMEL AND MALT!!! I paid for malt I guess She thought I was going to lick off the floor! Then She hands it to me, and I ask for at least a cup. She gives me a small cup!!!! I even had to ask for a spoon! Who taught this girl? If anyone wants any of it, the toppings are on the floor and much of the ice cream melted onto the sidewalk out front. Pop's has AMAZING ice cream, but expect to wait if you come for food. I went in last week during July 2020. They had appropriate social distancing and everything, but four of us went for lunch/dinner at 4 PM. It took TWO HOURS. It was meant to just be a quick meal before a six-hour drive. I've been to Pop's a couple times, once to sit down and eat and multiple other times for ice cream. I've never had a complaint until tonight when my roommate and I went to get ice cream. I saw the girl making my roommates Sundae use her hands ( WITHOUT GLOVES!)to break up candy and then place them on her sundae (again without gloves!), and to top it off candy fell on the counter and then she proceeded to pick the pieces up and place them on the sundae. To top it off my roommate asked for vanilla ice cream and there was chocolate mixed in. On the other hand mine was just lacking the topping ( and I paid extra for 2 toppings).
