Came here with a friend last week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I want to lead with the best here: the bartender/server here provided some of the best service I have experienced in the last few years. So many people have come to expect poor service (including myself) that positive experiences like this really serve as a wake-up call to what the dining experience ought to be like. Kudos to Taqueria 304 for hiring the best! I can't omit the excellent food and stellar plate presentation either. My friend and I both got the loaded nachos as our entrees and they were as delicious as they were beautiful. As for the drinks, plenty of beers on tap and in bottles to suit your needs, particularly of the Mexican variety (fitting). Ambiance is nice with some clever furnishings, like the sideways doors carpentered to serve as an entryway wall. One thing I will mention is that open-concept establishments tend to have noise issues and this place is no exception; even still, my friend and I were able to hear each other on this occasion (no promises when the place is full). Parking here can be challenging due to all the construction currently happening in the area though there are spots available on both sides of the street which ought to be enough at most times of the day. All things considered, Taqueria 304 is a welcome addition to the area and I hope they stick around for a long time to come! Overall: 4.5 stars ---- Pros: - Outrageously good service, that needs to be commended in a world where such service is increasingly rare. - Excellent food with a skilled eye for presentation. - Great draft/bottle beer selection. - Pleasant ambiance with clever furnishings. Cons: - Open-concept spots can have noise issues, though it wasn't too bad during our visit. - Parking is tough but still available.

Rating: 1/5 Stars (Zero if it were an option)…read more I recently visited Barrio Tacos on Sunday early evening, June 14th, to pick up a takeout order. The restaurant was completely empty, and after my experience with the front-of-house staff, it is entirely clear why. Upon entering during a heavy downpour, I was ignored by the hostess while she conducted a lengthy, highly unsanitary personal grooming routine. I was forced to stand and watch her apply lipstick, adjust it with her bare fingers, and slowly pack away her cosmetics before she even deigned to acknowledge my presence. There was no greeting - only immediate hostility. Given the current emphasis on food service hygiene, watching a staff member handle her face and makeup immediately prior to handling customer orders is deeply concerning and raises serious questions about the sanitary standards of the kitchen. When I provided my name for the pickup, she aggressively stated there was no name on the order and demanded to see a confirmation. Because my wife was outside with the phone that had the confirmation, I offered to verify the contents of the order to save a trip back into the storm. I began stating the order included two salads, only for the hostess to condescendingly interrupt me to snap, "We don't serve salads here." Whether your establishment defines its lettuce-based dishes as "bowls" or "salads," her pedantic and abrasive attitude was entirely uncalled for. After being forced to walk back out into the rain to retrieve the phone, I returned and presented the confirmation. She then carelessly dropped two bags on the counter without a word. When I asked if both bags belonged to me, she says, "No! They're both not yours." Upon inspecting the bags myself, I discovered my name was clearly printed on the stapled receipt at the top of the bag the entire time. The hostess simply refused to look. The level of contempt, unprofessionalism, and blatant laziness displayed by your front-of-house staff is unacceptable. I did absolutely nothing to warrant this treatment. As a professional visiting in the area, I will ensure that my colleagues and contacts at Kent State University are well aware of this establishment's lack of customer service and hygiene standards.
