The food was amazing as you might expect at any Mexican Restaurant. The food was portion sizes were plentiful. The exterior of the building is very dated and suspect from the outsize; however the interior was modest and very clean. No bar seen from our advantage point. We were immediately warmly greeted as we walked through the door was my first impression and that level of service continued throughout the evening. My rating was totally influenced by the kindness of every employee who came in contact with us. Even other servers who weren't taking care of us asked how we were and how the food was. The manager/ owner came over to our table plus other tables throughout the meal to inquire. Each employee was dressed in a black uniform which kept the entire team looking professional. I only saw one female worker who was serving beverages in jeans. All the males were on point. Be prepared to be called Amigo or Amiga. All in all, I would go back for the food, service and locality. My experience is exclusive to the establishment next to McDonalds and the GoodWill. read more

El Rincon is one of my favorite restaurants to visit with my son. We always stop at the thrift store across the parking lot, then come here to eat. The margaritas are always perfectly poured. The food is always served hot and fresh. The service can be a bit slow sometimes, but still friendly and attentive. They're located in a large plaza, so there's plenty of parking. El Rincon redid their menu and it is not the El Rincon I remember from years past. Between the fast service and great food, I was really impressed with the revamped restaurant. To start, they brought us fresh, hot chips and salsa (not spicy). We tried the chicken enchiladas suizas and the molcajete. The enchilada portion was huge and the green sauce on top was fresh and not heavy at all. The molcajete was the star of the show. The molcajete included chicken, steak, shrimp, vegetables, and grilled white cheese simmering in a steaming hot juice and was served with warm tortillas, beans, rice, sour cream, lettuce, and pico de gallo. It could have easily fed 3 people! When visiting, note that El Rincon will honor coupons from any Mexican restaurant in town! There is a wheelchair accessible entrance at the back door. read more

My family and I have just moved to Ohio from Florida, we currently live in Canal Fulton, Ohio which is a lovely some town outside of Massillon. My father in-law said he knew of a really good Mexican Restaurant, so we decided to head to El Rincon Mexican Restaurant located in Massillon Ohio just outside of Canal Fulton. We were going for our daughter's 18th birthday she was the one who wanted Mexican food. We walked in and we found ourselves our table and our server came right over to started us out with some tortilla chips & salsa, the salsa was very good not to spicy which doesn't bother me because I love spicy things. Then our server took our drink orders and our main course orders as well. My wife and I both ordered the same thing which was the Quesadilla Rellena, which is a flour tortilla stuffed with cheese, beef tips, and refried beans, served with lettuce and sour cream. Our daughter had a taco salad, our son had the tacos and quesadilla from the 4kids menu which I thought the logo for the kids menu was cool because it's the exact same logo the the WB kids used for their logo during the late 90s early 2000s funny stuff for who ever remembers the WB Kids block of television. Our quesadillas were very tasty but they weren't the best quesadillas I have ever had that bill goes to Birria 1983 which is located in Downtown Orlando in Florida. After we ate our main courses we ordered two bowls of fried Ice Cream which was very delicious it was served in a tortilla cone bowl with chocolate syrup drizzled on top. The server was very attentive and he gave very good customer service. The meal didn't cost to much we had seven people in our party so the whole dinner cost around $150 plus tip. So if you're looking for a reasonable priced Mexican Restaurant in the Massillon Ohio area check out the local El Rincon Mexican Restaurant, they serve great food and offer great customer service. It's always busy, which is why we never come here, but the staff is awesome and super attentive. Their prices are good and the food is good. Great location for great Mexican fare at low prices and served fast. This is our go to for take out When we are feeling the need for Mexican. They are very fast some times instead of calling ahead I order our to go meal and a margarita to have while I wait for them to prepare it. Usually only takes 12-15 min, which allows me to enjoy the margarita. Staff is very friendly and personable. Favorites are the Grande Special meal and enchiladas verdes. This has been my go-to spot for Mexican for a number of years now. I usually get the veggie #5, which comes with a cheese quesadilla, bean burrito, and cheese enchilada. Normally, I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but since I'm here several times a month, I've gotten into a bit of a routine. I will say however, I've also had the chicken soft tacos, seafood enchilada, tostada, fajitas, and chili relleno over the years, and they are almost always top notch. The chips are your run of the mill corn tortilla, with a house salsa that's always been a hit. I usually spice mine up with a little green or red bottled hot sauces they have at the table. Cheese dip? Yes please! There's is always delicious, and it always comes out piping hot. I don't know what they put in that stuff, but I would absolutely drink it if it was socially acceptable. Lastly, they have the best fountain Diet Coke I've ever had on the regular. Like, there are hot days in the summer where I think "damn, I wish I had an ice cold Diet Coke from El Rincon right now". Like most Mexican spots, prices are beyond reasonable, and the food comes out faster than the McDonalds next door. The staff, while never overly talkative (English is their second language after all), is always prompt and courteous. If you're hungry for something south of the border, and are in Jackson Township, you've got to look no further than El Rincon. P.S. I've been going to El Rincon since I was a kid. It was always a family favorite since we could always gorge ourselves on the endless salsa, and my mother seemed to always have a coupon. When the location off Wales opened up closer to home, I was thrilled. This is definitely an affordable place! Decent food for decent prices. There's always a special; ordering it could save you $2 or more. (The Guadalajara is the meal of choice.) The service is typically pretty good. Water glasses are always full, and chips and salsa had been quickly replenished in the past. The menu was revamped about a year ago with more options and specials. It can be a bit overwhelming. I will always be obsessed with their queso. Good deal on margaritas. I believe Thursday margarita pitchers are half off? Went in tonight and service was a bit blah. We never got fresh salsa; even though we finished it off quickly. We should have asked for it- but I've never needed to in the past. I was served the wrong dish. I tried to grab our server's attention politely at first, but it seemed I was being ignored. There were five servers standing near the register, so I tried to flag mine down. (Again I was ignored.) It wasn't until I began to stand up to tell them I received the wrong meal that I saw our server wave at me to sit down. When he came down, he knew what the issue was and quickly fixed it. His performance was good; I was just a bit disappointed in the other servers. Definitely a staple for affordable Mexican and margaritas with friends. This our family's favorite local Mexican place. We have been coming here for several years now and cannot say enough good things about it. Now I'm not saying that this is street-tacos-in-Tijuana authentic, and they clearly cook to average-Ohio sense of "hot" for many fishes, but it tastes very good. You can satisfy your desire for hot by asking your server, or ordering something like the Burrito Durango. And the staff- they are fantastic. Always courteous, timely and take care of you. The prices are also very reasonable and they've never made a fuss about our family of five getting refills (drinks, chips, whatever). You deserve to take yourself here, and enjoy it. read more

This was our first trip to El Rincon and here are my overall impressions: The service was AMAZING - fast, friendly and the water was able to describe all the dishes we asked about. Good standard taco, lots of ground beef - more than average so big thumbs up about that! My cheese enchilada was good but is it possible to have too much cheese in a cheese enchilada? I never would've have thought so but now I say yes, yes it is. The sauce was different, peppery, good but not what I expected and that's ok. (I'm learning enchilada sauce is quite different in Akron. Note to self: get used to it - you're not in New Mexico!) The chile relleno is a poblano, not an Anaheim or NM chile that I expect. But it was good! Margaritas were strong but the green sweet n sour is a bit of a turn off and not especially tasty. Interesting side notes: Rice and beans aren't regular accompaniments on the combination plates, and the a la carte menu is pretty minimal - no single taco or chile relleno on it. Bottom line? El Rincon is very close to home so very convenient for us - I'm sure we'll be back. It won't be our first choice for out of town guests but it's reliable Ohioan Mexican food, convenient and priced right. read more

I am largely disappointed by the mexican food in the Canton/Massilon area. I have not been to them all, but El Rincon has been my go to despite being pretty average. I think I may need to find a new "go to".... I feel like the food is getting worse - even my wife was wondering at our last visit if they changed ownership. That I cannot say, but not only the food is becoming more sloppily done but the service is very poor. Its always been meh, but now its unquestionably subpar. Usually mexican restaurants turn tables very fast so they give you your check about 3 bites into your meal..not Rincon. We were completely done and I sent the rest of the family to the car. I waited 10 minutes before I could grab anyone to tell our waiter to bring the check. And, if I may back track a bit, asked for a couple changes to our meal. Nothing too difficult - I asked for no rice and extra pico with my fajitas and corn tortillas instead of flour. I don't think that was a lot to ask for but none of those things happened. A single bad experience I usually ignore, but we go here enough and its been consistently getting worse. read more

I personally got sick twice this month from their food, my hubby got sick too, and doctor confirmed I had the norovirus this second time. I was in town visiting a friend one day and decided to stop by El Rincon since I love Mexican food. We were off to a bad start when they handed us our chips and salsa and we noticed hair in the chips. When we asked for another bowl because of the hair, the waitress, who was generally unfriendly, acted like we made a ridiculous request and were complaining over nothing. In spite of that, we decided to stay and give the place a chance. When it came time to order food, I ordered an enchilada, which was very bland and bare bones compared to any enchilada I've had from the variety of other Mexican restaurants I have been to. The meal that my friend ate looked decent though, so as far as food quality I can only speak for the enchilada that I tried. For a couple of positive notes, the prices are very low so if you're looking for cheap food in a hurry like I was, you can't complain about the prices, and the salsa they provide is quite good. I could eat here every day. The food is great. The staff is friendly. Service and meal prep times are super fast. And it's pretty fairly priced. I know sometimes it can be hard to understand servers at Mexican restaurants, even as a fluent spanish speaker with a Mexican son. The employees here speak English really well. The specials are great prices. Lunch specials daily. There's always coupons in our mailers. Apparently there's 1.99 margaritas all day Friday and I'm not sure why I'm not spending all my Fridays there. The only thing is I live really close by, less than a mile, but every time I get carry out its cold when I get home. Not an issue to reheat but it shouldn't get cold that quickly when I have to wait for it to be ready. Still very good. I eat here at least 2-3 times a month. we ate here on june 14, 2014 for lunch. i knew it was going to be a bad experience when we asked for ice tea-no sugar no lemon--and it came out with lemon. my husband and my beef fajitas were ok--(they were greasy)-we got them was too quick to be made to order-they tatsted like something that had been sitting around and warmed up--our daughter asked for beef fajitas yucatan-the waiter brought her out chicken-when she questioned what she got his reply was this is what you ordered, i have it written down-you want me to take it back?he procrastenated and finally took it back-two minutes later a different waiter brought her the same plate back-she tried to explain again that this was sent back because it was suppose to be beef-he gave her a dirty look and finally took it back--when she finally got her food every one else was almost done eating. also one of our grandaughters ordered the number one from the kids menu--(burrito and taco) she was brought the number five(enchilada and taco)--if you want to call it an enchilada it was also terrible--after seeing what her mother went through she didn't want to complain---this was the first time we had come to this restaurant and this was one of the worse mexican meals we have ever had. read more
