    Lunch Chimichanga
    Dianne M.

I was really happy that they have added a lunch menu. They had had one that went away, but now there is a new one with lots of choices. I had the Quesadilla and they allowed me to substitute spinach for the meat and it was great! My friend had the Chimichunga and thought it was very good. There was a lot of friendly follow up and the server was pleasant. The dining room was clean and in good repair - very attractive and comfortable.

Most folks head to Hartville for hardware, the flea market, and the namesake Kitchen with its expansive menu of traditional comfort foods with an Amish touch. All good, if your palate prefers to be soothed vs entertained. If you're in the market for a more festive strain of comfort food, head up the road just a couple of miles to Mi Casa, a hidden gem in these otherwise beige hinterlands of northeast Ohio cuisine. I've been to Mi Casa a half dozen times over the past 20 years, and have never been disappointed. If I were in this area more, I'd visit more often. They have a tasty menu of all of your favorite Mexican entrées. All fresh, and well prepared by the kitchen. Spice levels definitely have been moderated, shall we say, so as to not terrify the locals, most of whom likely start their mornings with soda instead of coffee (too bitter), and chose Pepsi over Coke (too spicy). The ubiquitous bottles of hot sauces on every table allow patrons to make corrections on their own. The chips arrive warm, fresh and crunchy. The salsa and pico are fresh, and full of flavor from tomatoes, chili, cumin, onions and cilantro. Staff are always friendly, and appear to enjoy their work. All told, it makes for a nice casual dining experience. If you're in the area, go. You'll enjoy it!

Mi Casa is a very nice family owned and operated authentic Mexican restaurant located on West Maple Street in Hartville, Ohio. It is a freestanding structure with its own parking lot. The lot is well maintained and of adequate size for the business. Mi Casa offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Service is always excellent and the food is always fresh and delicious. The restaurant is always clean and well kept. I don't live in the area but when I'm visiting family in Hartville we almost always end up at Mi Casa at least once. A meal here is always enjoyable. In addition to dining at the restaurant I have also had the pleasure of attending several events over the years that were catered by Mi Casa. The food and service is always excellent. The food and drink menus are extensive so everyone is sure to find something they like. If you are unsure of something they are happy to help you make a choice. My mother's favorite is the Hawaiian Burrito and I have to admit it's pretty awesome, so fresh and original. My wife favors the wonderful Lime Fish Tacos. I enjoy the tasty Fajitas and Pollo Loco and most everything else I've tried. I've never had something I didn't enjoy. Mi Casa is a real asset to the community and I look forward to another visit the next time I'm in town.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and they were kind enough to serve us outside even on a chilly day because we had our dog. The service was subsequently a bit slow but that's okay. I enjoyed the chicken tortilla soup but my steak taco did have a hair in it which killed my appetite. I'll be back as soon as I forget about that because I understand things happen and the food is yummy.

This time I was inspired to look for a Mexican ceviche. In my most recent adventure, I visited Taqueria La Loma in Akron and very much enjoyed my meal. After ordering from the counter, I sat down and was quickly given some fresh chips and salsa to snack on. Although these were delicious, I probably should have passed on this because what I ordered was much more that I could eat alone. I was impressed by the flavor and value of the Mixed (shrimp and octopus) Ceviche, and would absolutely suggest it to anyone. I'd never had octopus ceviche before, and was concerned about chewiness, but was pleasantly surprised at how tender it was. I assume the shrimp ceviche is similarly good. I also ordered 3 birria tacos. I found there was maybe slightly too much cheese in the taco, but the tasty consomé dip was impressive. To wash it all down, I had one of the best horchata drinks I've ever had in my life. It was sooo good and a must-have. The staff was attentive and helpful, and the food came out quickly. The restaurant was basic, but clean, and looks like the kind of authentic place you'd want to go for a casual but tasty Mexican food meal. I will be recommending this place to my co-workers in the Akron office, and will go back again next time I'm in town.

Our server who I think was named Marey (?) was amazing and so sweet. Next, the food! We ordered a LOT of food, and it was all great! Chimichangas, two beef cheek and two shrimp tacos, all the hot salsas, chips, horchata and margarita. All really flavorful and again...came out hot and fast! People in the restaurant all seemed to be happy and enjoying the vibes. We will definitely return ASAP.

The first menu had splashes of food inside, so we traded it out for a different menu - same thing. Eventually we realized that the worker behind the desk was supposed to be cleaning the menus (we took the menus from the clean pile), but she was distracted on her phone instead. The staff seated us fairly quickly - within the allotted wait time. We had plans afterwards, so we placed our order as soon as the waitress came to the table. Our chips and salsa were delicious and were refilled while we waited...and waited...and waited. It was easily over an hour before our food came out. The chicken fajitas were good - nice size portion. They came with a side of rice, sour cream and shredded cheese. They were lacking pico de gallo and shredded lettuce toppings which are pretty standard. Refried beans and/or black beans are usually also served at other Mexican restaurants but were missing here. My husband ordered a chicken dish. He said the taste was fine - not something he would re-order though. Overall Good chips and salsa Fajitas were tasty Restaurant floor was exceptionally sticky Menus were kinda gross Wait time on food was exceptionally long (the restaurant was busy but not every table was filled - which was strange since there was a wait list, but maybe they didn't have the staff available.) With other Mexican restaurant choices available locally, this isn't a restaurant we would revisit.

It was quite busy, but we were seated in five to ten minutes and presented with a heaping bowl of chips and salsa. The margaritas are gigantic, yet pretty weak. I would NOT recommend getting the large, as they start to get way too sweet and they also start to melt. And unless you are super-human and love sugar, you aren't finishing it before you get out of there. To be fair, Oakwood Square is a "DORA" district, so they offer to put your drink in a to-go cup and send you on your way. Food is standard Mexican fare. Good, but to be honest, everything tastes kind of the same, with minor variations. I still am not sure of the difference between the enchilada, chimichanga, soft taco, burrito, etc. Dump some rice & refried beans on the place, mix it all together and it is basically the same thing. Friendly and speedy service is the highlight of this joint. I don't always love Mexican food, so I likely won't return again anytime soon, but it was a solid supper.
