I ordered queso (super cheesy, but sadly lacking peppers-- would still order again!), rice, and a shrimp quesadilla. My mom and sister got a shredded chicken quesadilla-- they enjoyed it. My other little sister got a lunch combo that came with a taco, quesadilla, and rice for $8! The salsa was extra good. You do have to pay after two refills, but we didn't eat more than that. We have had the Street Taco's a dozen times. They are delicious. Don't know who's in the kitchen tonight but it was one greasy mess! Hi Yelpers, I went again , I was so nervous and scared something might be done to my food but I wanted to see if things had changed. I first ordered the piña colada and was excited to delve into it but it was sooo extremely sweet that I couldn't drink or enjoy it. Neither could my guest who also ordered one. I also ordered the spinach quesadilla that was a bit salty but otherwise well flavored. It came with rice that should have been cooked a bit longer, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo. It tasted nice all put together actually. The person with me ordered fajitas with no onions or peppers and the dish was served with three mushrooms and about 16 oz. of tomatoes. It's funny when I think about it now. I was thinking that broccoli, squash, or cauliflower would have worked fine, but I do appreciate the chef for trying. What I loved the most was the sweet server and I think the manager who asked why I was leaving so early ( I was scared honestly, the hair episodes, phew ‍). He also talked to me at the counter, which was nice and showed that there was no bitterness after I returned the piña colada. The best Mexican food in Akron. Their chips and salsa are tremendous but don't forget to order the white cheese dip too. Excellent fajitas and the Vallarta Special is so, so good. The chips were fresh but the salsa is runny and a one-note on flavor but the lunch more than made up for it! I had two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chicken was moist and seasoned with onions and tomatoes. The sauce was thick and spicy. I liked it. It was odd that the cheese was under the sauce but whateer. The rice and beans were ok, a bit bland but the spicy sauce helped remedy that. All for around $5. My friend had a giant chicken burrito. She loved it. I dig El Rincon as a work-day lunch. They're fast, fresh, and pretty darn tasty. Their fajitas are my absolute favorites and the portions are insane. I can eat one fajita meal for 2-3 meals if I'm ravenous. The Texanas fajita is my favorite because then it's like 3 different meals if you pick out a single meat for each meal. It's a combination of shrimp, chicken, and steak, so I always eat the shrimp first (that never reheats well) and then take the chicken and the steak home to eat later. And they don't skimp on the shrimp either, which rocks. I generally find between 10-12 pieces on the plate (and then promptly scarf them down). Tamales, which if you've read any of my reviews of Mexican joints, are my litmus test for good places to eat. If you can't do a simple tamale right, there's no way I'm going to eat anything else there. El Rincon definitely does it right with clean masa de maize and a spicy pork center that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. read more

Also the customer service was lacking the waitress who gave us our salsa had a frown and was not pleasant in the least. They got to work on the customer service. Very good very cheap mexican. I always get the shredded chicken quesadilla that is under $3 and it comes with lettuce and tomato. Their pico de gallo is awesome and there house salsa is pretty runny, not chunks at all, but delicious. Also, their queso is top notch. The margaritas there are delicious and pack a punch. My friend and I split a pitcher and it is safe to say we should not be driving after that. Also, if it is someone's birthday they make them wear a heavy sombrero, bring out a dessert item, and sing. They bang on the hat so hard it is painful and they WILL put whipped cream on your face. Consider yourself warned. The dessert is gooood though. If I go there and don't drink, I get out of there for under $10 with an appetizer. Awesome place. WORST MEXICAN RESTAURANT-EVER!!!! Instead of their menu offering the traditional Mexican burritos, beans ,etc... it should have said " Sides: Food poisoning for 5 hours of your life= priceless , bad customer service= $9.00, beyond cheap and horrible tasting food =$ 45.00". My girlfriend dragged me hear for a bachelorette party last night, on the way there commenting that they used to have amazing margaritas yrs ago but now they use cheap tequila - I should have taken her words to heart instead of my stomach. As we all know, Mexican food is one of the cheapest yet tastiest ways to stuff your face. To make the experience even more appealing, it's as if they specialize in making the words best margaritas but not at El Rincon's. They specialize is p*ssing me the f*ck off! I had eaten earlier in the evening so all I ordered was a side of rice & their sopapillas. Even if you have the cooking skills of Angelia Bowers from Who's the Boss you can't really screw these two simple dishes up- or can you? My rice was a strange brownish color & not the traditional reddish hue. It didn't taste like Mexican rice either; in fact it didn't taste like anything. Even with the few small bits of peppers, I would've gotten more satisfaction from kissing my bosses a** than eating this crap! And their salsa was more like a can of chunky tomatoes -extra chunky with no hints of lime juice, cilantro or other enhancements. Even the sopapillas were made half A**ed. The honey tasted as if it was a "simple syrup" and not actual honey. You couldn't taste the cinnamon/sugar at all & the whip cream & choc. drizzle did nothing for these 'I'm not drunk enough to enjoy you" triangles of backwash. To top it off, my friend order a small pitcher of margaritas- AWFUL!!!!!!! I had to force myself to down yet another flavorless slushie of liquid wft. She wasn't kidding when announcing they use cheap tequila- they use the cheapest of everything! Oh but the best I saved for last- just imagine you're friend lying to the server about it being your birthday even though you begged them not to...then having the very obvious " I hate my life and must make yours a living nightmare too" staff slam a unsanitized Mexican sombrero on your head as hard as they can... slapping you multiple times on top of your head as hard a humanly possible. And ending your evening by ruining your shirt (make-up if you wear it) because they very stupidly think it's a good idea to smash what they consider to be Mexican fried ice cream(it's not traditional fried ice cream- it wasn't even fried) up your nose & in your face until it falls all over the table top & down your shirt & on your pants...yeah, should've punched the jerk that kept smashing the disgusting hat onto my head. And my so called "friend"! There's nothing like having to hand wash a scarf your wearing because it has choc. sauce & whip cream smeared into the fabric & drowning your pants in Shout in hopes of removing all the stickiness. If I'm going to have to use shout or any other stain remover after visiting this back alley trash heap it better be to remove the servers blood off of my clothes! Seriously- if any of you think this place has the "best ever" Mexican food you need to get out more! Even Taco bell with their Americanized Mexican food is more authentic. This is my first time here. For someone who came from a diverse community with a good selection of authentic Mexican restaurants, I was pretty disappointed. The salsa tasted like blended tomatoes with a hint of salt and lime. The taco sucks, the melted cheese look and taste like cream, and the Mexican steak lack seasoning. If you think the food here is good, you seriously need to get out more. In addition, the margarita is plain with cheap tequila. If you want Mexican food, just go to Taco Bell.
