The place was infested with gnats. Bugs were everywhere. I told a staff member that something must be rotting in the restaurant. I wouldn't eat a tortilla chip from this place. I highly do not recommend. read more

Great mexican restaurant in Akron! We constantly stop in for drinks and bites to eat and are pleasantly surprised every time! The queso is absolutely delicious!! My go to margarita is the raspberry marg on the rocks! The strawberry is good too but sometimes too sweet for my taste! The workers are tentative and quick! It is family owned business and we have enjoyed getting to know every member! there is lots of seatings for large groups and they accommodate them well! read more

Our server was AMAZING!! I don't remember her name, but her hair was kind of red and put into braids or pigtails (don't remember). She also had little drawings/tattoos on her face. My husband and I just left without even ordering because, as he was eating the salsa a 1/2 eaten chip came up from the bottom of the bowl...NOT HIS. As a former restaurant worker, I can only think that this means they dump the salsa back into the container when people are done. Very gross and unsanitary. I'm a truck driver making deliveries across the U.S. during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Ever since the lock downs started it been harder and harder to find a good meal. Many restaurants are closed. Those that are open can only do take out. So it's been eating fast food or cold sandwiches in the truck. I already spend so much time in the truck its down right depressing at times eating every meal in the truck. How I miss being able to sit at a table in a restaurant and enjoy a good hot meal after driving nearly 700 miles in a single day. So I was happy to find a Mexican restaurant with 4 out of 5 stars after 79 reviews right next to a truck stop. (I grew up in southern California and I know how hard it is to find good Mexican food in the middle of the country) The truck parking lot was full but the restaurant's parking lot was practically empty. (Since the sign outside said to order by phone for pick up. Those customers picking up orders were in and out fairly quickly). So I pulled into their lot and went inside to order. This was my first time here so I needed to see a menu. After about 5 minutes I settled on the tacos Al Pastor plate and Special burrito. The server was friendly and it took about 15 minutes for them to make my order. So far everything was going great, unfortunately that's when a person claiming to be the owner shows up. So I get my food and head back to the truck. All I needed to do was figure out my route to my next delivery in Pennsylvania. A small town named Belleville. It's a tiny town near State College Pennsylvania on state route. Driving a 70 foot tractor trailer on tiny secondary roads through the forested hills of Pennsylvania is no picnic. So I was checking my route before I left the parking lot. That's went the person claiming to the "owner" pulls up in tiny tan colored car. He looks at me oddly and then goes into the restaurant. He sent the cleaning guy out in gloves and an apron to ask if I was planning on staying in their lot. I told the cleaning guy ( who was very polite) that I had just gotten my meal from their restaurant and was planning on leaving as soon as I figured out my route. He seemed satisfied and I thought that was the end of it. But a few minutes later the "owner" comes out all loud and rude saying that's it's been 10 minutes since the cleaning guy told me to leave. ( I don't believe it had been that long but i suppose its possible). The "owner" is all upset that I've been there for 30 minutes. (Of which 20 minutes was spent ordering my food and waiting for them to prepare it. I tried to explain that I was just bought my dinner from his restaurant and was just trying to figure out home to get to my next delivery. That's when he ranting "that it shouldn't take 10 minutes and that I need to leave or he'll call the police ". Really?? Your parking lot is empty. I just bought my dinner from his restaurant and the fact that I've been there 10 minutes since they gave me my order is grounds to threaten to call the police on me? They so called "owner" is threatening to call the police on one of his customers because he hadn't left the parking lot within 10 minutes of pickup up his order? Absolutely ridiculous, rude, unprofessional and mentally disturbed. It's a stark contrast to all the praise you hear from the media and the President about truck drivers working hard to keep stores stocked and essential industries supplied with the materials and equipment they need. I guess the "owner" never heard that. I'm not asking for praise or any special treatment. I just wanted a hot meal other than fast food. read more

The salsa was to die for. I ordered the wrong Chile relleno but didn't know it until my meal came. The server explained the difference between the two types and brought me the Chile Poblano. It was one of the best I ever had. My advice is to ask the server if there are similar dishes so you get the right one. read more

I used to be pretty regular at azteca prior to the pandemic. Even ordered takeout during the pandemic. However... ¡no más! I just ordered take out and it was terrible!!! All of our orders were barely warm... and I got there before i was supposed to pick it up. They used to have the best salsa... i used to go and just get salsa... now it's just chopped tomatoes and some jalapeños, no flavor. And I got one tiny cup of salsa when I ordered a large salsa. My carne asada burrito had about 3 pieces of beef, i say beef because it was like roast beef not steak in carne asada. My mother got chicken nachos, awful!!! Just boiled chicken and cheese. It was like getting someone else's leftovers. They used to have flavor they used to be delicious but I will never be going back here. The quality has drastically dropped. Plus the attitude the staff was very off putting.. it wasn't friendly like in the past. I wonder if they gotten new management, but I won't be finding out because I won't be coming back. I see a review where the manager explained, in Spanish, to a Mexican customer, that he was selling "Mexican food for gringos." I couldn't agree more. It's a clean, nice, comfortable, well-run restaurant that has a large and varied menu of Mexican dishes. What my wife and I got was good, fresh, healthy food, in the form of Mexican dishes, prepared as blandly as such food could be. In desperation, I asked for green sauce, and got decent green sauce to put on my tacos so they had some flavor. I give it four stars. You are going to enjoy your food, here. Cheap, fast Mexican food. That's the best way to describe Azteca. The staff is always friendly, the food is pretty decent, and you can't beat the prices. The ambiance inside isn't the best, but the patio is spacious with plenty of seating. Used to be a great place. In fact, one of my favorite places, till for some odd reason their quality went down hill all a sudden... Margaritas don't taste the same. I used to enjoy drinking them, now I find myself leaving with one half empty. But the worse thing is that my husband and I went recently and found a dark long hair in our queso, they replaced it but didn't consider taking it off the bill! I find that odd. We knew it wasn't our own hair since we both have light hair ... I was pretty grossed out and disappointed to not have had that removed from the bill.
