House salad

Never been here before so I didn't know what to expect. The house salad is tiny and costed $6.50.. I was hoping it'd be a little bigger considering the price. I also ordered the chicken satay which was very fatty. I'm sure the other items on the menu are great but I was very unhappy with what I ordered.

Thai Dumpling - Four steamed dumplings with a yellow, pleated wrapper are arranged on a white plate. The dumplings are topped with chopped green onions and crispy fried shallots, indicating a savory filling inside. The presentation emphasizes the traditional Asian style of the dish, likely served at an Asian restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine.

What an amazing place! I was completely blown away by the quality of the food. You can immediately tell everything was home made, prepared by hand, and made with love. We tried the Thai Dumplings, which was a ground combo of shrimp and pork wrapped in a tender noodle, and served with the most delicious garlic sauce I have ever had. Next we tried the Chicken Satay, which was so perfectly cooked and seasoned. Firm on the outside and soft and juicy inside, it was amazing, but the best part was the peanut sauce... it was an explosion of flavor. I wish I could pick out all the unique flavors in it. We got the Drunken Stirfry add lo mein noodles, which was great. Some spice added a nice touch, and all the veggies and meat were cooked perfectly. The mushrooms soaked up so much flavor We also got the Pad Thai, which was the best Pad Thai I have ever had. The meat, the noodles, the sauce, it was all perfect. The only thing missing was spice, so our waitress brought out a cup of their chili oil with their home grown chili peppers, and it was actually the star of the evening! It's not super hot right away, it actually has a semi sweet flavor, and then the heat grows in the background and creeps up to a nice burn. I drizzled it all over the Pad Thai, which took it to the next level. Not only was the food amazing and of the best quality, our waitress was also just fantastic. You could tell she was proud of the food they served, and we trusted every recommendation she made. She explained the dishes, explained the heat levels, and even took the time to do a chopstick tutorial for me, even though she was the only server there and was busy. She was friendly and represented the restaurant perfectly. Overall I can't rate this place high enough. We will be back all the time, I cannot wait to try more of their menu!

A white plate holds a serving of fried rice with a golden-brown color, topped with shrimp. Next to the rice are pieces of beef, broccoli, and mixed vegetables including carrots and onions, all coated in a sauce. Two small clear containers of sauce are placed beside the plate. The presentation suggests a Chinese or Asian-inspired meal.

Great food with fresh ingredients at a reasonable price. All of our lunches were great; we will be back for sure.

Pineapple Fried Rice - A serving of fried rice featuring shrimp, diced vegetables such as carrots and potatoes, topped with chopped green onions, is presented on a white square plate. Cucumber slices are placed on the side as garnish. The background shows a wooden table with various Asian dishes, soy sauce, and condiments, indicating a restaurant setting.

Wow. We need an Asian Cravings in Columbus. We were impressed by the pad Thai, the pineapple fried rice, the Thai dumplings, won-ton soup, the Tom Kha soup and yellow curry. Ambience is calming. Booths and clean and comfy. The waiter was fabulously attentive. Service was great. My daughter commented that the plates were pretty. Keep up the great work.

Hibachi Steak & Shrimp Combo - A foam takeout container contains cooked beef chunks, shrimp, rice, and mixed vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, and zucchini. The food appears freshly prepared and is arranged in sections within the container, which is placed on a granite countertop.

Got the steak and shrimp hibachi but usually get scallops. The food here is amazing. Good portions, great quality. Gordon approves.

Green Curry Chicken - A bowl contains green curry chicken with pieces of chicken, green beans, red bell peppers, and basil leaves in a light, creamy curry sauce. The dish is served in a white bowl, highlighting the colorful vegetables and tender chicken pieces, typical of Southeast Asian cuisine.

First time here and the food is AWESOME!! So glad to find Thai AND Japanese food in one place. I'm from North Carolina where they have Hibachi galore so I was a little skeptical since I heard Hibachi was new to Akron and becoming popular FAST. As a new restaurant the place was packed but the food was worth the wait! They were short staffed as anywhere else but they made sure I had a delicious experience. I will definitely recommend to more locals and out-of-towners as well. This was food from two days in a row. Everything I've tried so far was cooked to perfection. I have absolutely no complaints... MUST TRY.

Great food, great service, great vibe, and affordable prices. Can't beat this place when you're in the mood for Asian cuisine! We had the chicken hibachi, Tom Kha soup, chicken egg roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a side of noodles. Everything was DELICIOUS! (I ate my entire roll before getting a picture lol.). Kudos to the chefs for a great meal, and the service was great too! We stumbled upon it while shopping at Acme and definitely recommend trying this place. Can't wait to go back to try the red curry!

Fried rice. Adding onions would be a wonderful touch - A close-up of fried rice served in a white foam takeout container. The rice appears to be seasoned and includes small pieces of scrambled egg. The container is placed on a dark wooden surface, with part of a blue paper plate visible in the background.

When we 1st arrived the server (we had many times in the past) politely greeted us & asked about are day. We could immediately see that she was upset & on the verge of crying. We told her we weren't in any rush & if she needed some time for herself we would be ok with waiting while she took the time to get herself composed and she could get back to us afterwards. She immediately started to cry & thanked us before heading to the bathroom. After a few minutes she came back to the table. We asked her if everything was ok. She explained, the family that just left (before we entered) left without paying their bill. This family had gotten FOUR King Crab Meals, each costing $109. The total bill being over $400. The sever went her management about this issue & they informed her this was her fault, she would responsible to unpaid bill & it wouldbe coming out of her next pay check. Another table directly beside us also witnessed this and these kind people gave the server alittle money to help cover the cost of the unpaid bill. But ultimately this server was left paid this bill costing her over $300. Management treated this poor girl so horribly, they held her responsible for such a high bill & then told her to stop "crying about it"! This was absolutely disgusting!! Why is the lowest paid person responsible for this?? I felt so bad for her!! I know it would take every bit of her tips for the day, plus some of her pay check to cover this unpaid bill. Until today, A Plus Crab was one of our favorite places to eat. The servers are always so pleasant & the food is fantastic. But after this experience we are now rethinking EVER going back to this establishment and Ill be sharing this experience with anyone I can, as an example of how NOT to treat your employees & people in general. I CAN NOT support any company knowing this is the treatment of their employees. I dont know how she didnt just walk out & never look back. But Im sure just like most people, she has bills to pay, a family to support & cant afford to be without a employment. Also, Im sure she probably cant afford to pay the customers unpaid tab either. As much money as this company makes & your telling me that they put this responsibility onto their lowest paid workers. THATS TOTAL BULLCRAP!! A Plus Crab, you really need to rethink your rules, policies & MOST of ALL the TREATMENT of YOUR EMPLOYEES!! This is shameful!! At a minimum YOU owe this poor girl an apology & maybe a raise for the CRAP treatment she endures while working for your company! DO BETTER!!!

So my food experience was probably more of a 1 but if you get to stop by their market, I was happy with the goodies and groceries I found. Like a couple of people said, this place was haphazardly run for sure. There was only one worker for the market and the restaurant. Even though there was only 1 other table of people plus my party (4 people), it seemed to be too much to handle for the 1 worker. Service was super slow, he couldn't really answer any questions and nothing really met expectations. The menu was the worst one I had ever seen in terms of misspellings and wrong pictures and inaccuracies and I'm comparing it to other Asian menus that tend to get some typos every once in a while. This menu never had one complete line without a couple of typos...which, you know, if the description and picture were accurate enough, it still wouldn't have mattered. There were multiple pictures of their pad thai dish that looked like a thin eggy crepe on top of stir fried noodles--extremely appetizing. Server said off the bat that nope, the dish does not look like that at all. Okay...fine but then please get a different picture. I ordered the Egg Noodles soup that clearly listed: Egg noodles with scallion, carrot, cilantro, mushroom, ground chicken, ground pork and ground beef. Literally none of those items were in my dish except for a few strips of carrot. The "egg noodles" were the cheap vermicelli clear noodles, no ground beef but really stringy, tough pieces of leftover beef and only celery pieces instead of mushrooms, cilantro, scallions. It was completely different. Server offered no explanation to the differences nor a discount or anything... Someone ordered the baso (basil) fried rice and it looked amazing. The other 2 in my party ordered chicken pad thai which looked really corn starchy and pink instead of the more natural brown sauce I'm used to at better Thai restaurants. Nope, not coming back here!

Horrible experience overall…read more We went in about 2pm on a Sunday when a lot of other restaurants were closed and there were 2 other tables in there. That's it. It looked half closed inside and was a bit in disarray. We honestly should have just left. Took forever to get a drink order placed and once we did took even longer to get it. I noticed that everyone around us got everything they ordered really haphazardly. Tables got nothing together. One person would get a drink. One person would get an appetizer. Once person would get a set of utensils. Nothing was organized. Again. Should have left. We placed our orders for 2 entrees and a sushi roll to be eaten as an appetizer along with egg rolls. Quite some time later one entree came out. No utensils, no soy sauce, no eggs rolls, no sushi. Then 5 minutes later another entree. Same issue. Then 5 minutes later the eggs rolls. Still no sushi (which was asked to be an appetizer). Finally the sushi. Still no chopsticks and no soy sauce for the sushi. Husband took ONE BITE of the sushi and realized it was bad. He sent it back. I mean, it was really bad. Rancid. They said they'd remake it. We said no. It was supposed to be an appetizer anyways and we had lost all desire to eat there now and we also didn't trust their kitchen after rancid sushi, so please refund it. They agreed. They gave us the wrong check. A cheaper one for a different table. I was trying to be honest so I told them. They got mad at me. The owner started yelling at me. Literally yelling at me. What the heck?!? For being honest?!? When she finally gave me the correct receipt she refused to take off the sushi. I reminded her we sent it back because it was absolutely rancid. She started yelling louder. Screaming so loud someone who was there placing a to go order said "if you're going to treat your customers like this I'm leaving" and he left without his order. Then, this woman, the owner, has the audacity to say to me that she did not want to "serve (my) kind" (someone disabled) at her restaurant. She said disabled people were not welcome at her restaurant. (I have a service dog so it's obvious I have a disability!) I just about lost my mind when she said this. I was totally shocked by this comment. She still wanted to charge me for the rancid sushi we sent back. I refused to do so and told her that if she was going to discriminate against me I'm going to have no choice but to dispute it with my credit card because I will NOT be accused of stealing, or dine and dash, from someone who is so discriminatory, and I will NOT be charged for food that was rancid which we sent back after one bite. I stood my ground. Finally she took off the charge that she told me she'd take off always. She's a horrible business owner. She's a rude and disrespectful person and the food is disgusting. Don't go here.
