I will say that this is an amazing spot! Great customer service and the food is good. I have went twice each time they have a new menu and the food is past amazing. The drinks are really good. The lemonades are really good. Everything is fresh and made to order. I love how they treat you and interact with you to make sure you like your food and everything is to your liking. If you are in Jarrell this area is the best spot in town!

Nice place to go to sit outside in Jarrell but very disappointed in their chicken basket with waffle fries for $10.00. Chicken nugget's

The gumbo here is legit! And don't miss out when they do shrimp and grits, roast beef, or the bread pudding!

If you're looking for the best Cajun food around then look no further than PopPop's!!! Hands down the best bowl of gumbo I've ever had, and if a bowl isn't enough he'll sell you a gallon! You want it spicy? You sure?? You got it!! My other favorites are his shrimp and grits (seriously....THE BEST) etouffee, stuffed tenderloin, Mississippi pot roast, jambalaya, sausage balls....ok I'm drooling.... Aside from his classics he's always adding new and fun stuff to try like the fried lobster...you read that right, fried. lobster. YUM. The fried food is always on point but honestly...if you come to PopPop's to only get chicken tenders...you're selling yourself short. Oh, and you HAVE to go when it's crawfish season....he drives to Louisiana to get the big bois and the flavor and spice are on point!!! PopPop also caters and no party is too big! He treats you like family and there's nothing he wouldn't do to ensure you aren't absolutely satisfied with your meal, so go give 'em a try!!

I could write sonnets about Poppop's gumbo. Delicious, chicken and sausage gumbo over dirty rice. I chose the "spicy" option that was catered for my job's Labor Day party and as a native southeast Texan I can confirm, this is the best gumbo you will find in central Texas. The closest thing to authentic Louisiana cooking you will find. Every bite was more delicious than the last.

Awesome staff and even better food! Their gumbo is perfect and they offer different peppers to spice it up! Very good fried pickles. Highly recommend making a trip up to see them :)

Yummy !!! Our spring break was made !!! Gumbo and the most awesome customer service! We are so lucky

So when is this place actually open? Not on the hours listed on Yelp. I tried to go for lunch on Friday and nada.

Our apologies. We were open at noon but the park didn’t have enough business. I forgot to update the hours. Thank you for letting us know. We’ll be there Friday at 4:00 if you would like to stop by and receive a free order of gumbo for your… Read more

Even though we arrived early to surprise the Birthday girl, our table was ready, and our server brought water as we awaited the guest of honor. Service throughout our visit was excellent. Goodfolks has an extended brunch menu and some interesting cocktails to get your motor running on a Sunday Funday. Bloodies and French 75s were table favorites. Check out their online menu for a complete list of their craft cocktails and local beer offerings. Highlights were the basic classic breakfast: applewood smoked bacon, 2 Vital Farms eggs, potato hash, and Texas toast. Three of us ordered our eggs served differently, and they all arrived perfecto. Another highlight was the chicken and biscuits. This serving is huge and was a struggle for most to finish. The chicken breast arrived crispy, lightly battered as advertised. The maple sage gravy and syrup honey butter provide a sweet taste to the dish. Two of us struggled to remember what business occupied this location before Goodfolks. Thank you, Elise, for your 2022 review, which reminded us that the Burger University was the previous tenant. I would recommend reservations, as they did get pretty busy. Inside you'll find some booths along the perimeter of the room and large, round tables with wonderful upholstered chairs in the center. Can't say enough about the comfort of the chairs- very upscale. Our server was very sweet and efficient- there when we needed her but not hovering. The food is glorious. They are a bit on the expensive side, but the food is so good we did not mind the prices. I had the chicken and waffles - nicely crisp chicken breast with very tasty waffles. My husband and granddaughter-in-law had the steak and eggs - with really good potatoes and onions; both were SO impressed with the flavor and the preparation. (I will be having this next time!). My grandson had 'Hong Kong' French toast, which I believe was made with Japanese milk bread and had berries and a custard. Also came with eggs and bacon. He could not speak highly enough about it. The portions are LARGE. We all took food home. I shared my plate with my great granddaughter (2 yrs) and still took food home! Honestly, we had booked another restaurant for the weekend of Mother's Day (day before) and we canceled that reservation so that we could go back to Farmers Commons! It's that good. Also, all the folks working when we were there were very sweet with my great granddaughter; we appreciated that. HIGHLY recommend for brunch. Now i want to try dinner too!
