Wow, what a hidden gem. If you are in the northern Mississippi area and looking for some good down home comfort food, be sure to stop in. I got the fried pickles, and shrimp and grits. They were both served fresh and hot, and had great flavor. The service was fast and prices were reasonable. The inside decorated with some local art work, and the seating area was clean and comfortable. Will be back if I'm ever back in town.

Was able to revisit a year later. I was mistaken when I thought Tammy was the owner. She's the sister of the amazing owner. We are in town for 4 days and the highlight of our trip was coming to this quaint, adorable cafe. Tammy remembered us and welcomed us with a friendly smile, a warm hug and delightful service. We've only tried breakfast and it's some of the best around. The kids all loved their food which ranged from pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. What I LOVE THE most is the community table. Locals from this small town come in and share a table together. They come in at different times, but are always greeted with a hug and asked if they want their usual. Mary Beth the owner has such a wonderful community within her diner. I will be looking forward to our yearly trip out to visit!

Great service and great food! Best shrimp po boy I've ever had! The fried shrimp is a hit. Loved the twist on the sweet potato fries being breaded and fried. All in all, it's a hidden gem

I have to admit that I am attracted to divey looking (to a point) places off the beaten track. Pope Country Cafe hits those 2 points for sure. It's kinda cute inside and the menu is large, with practically every fried item there is. We first tried the fried pickle chips with seemingly house made ranch dressing. The coating on the pickles was just slightly brown and they sat in a pool of grease. This is a tell tale sign of fryer grease that is old and needs to be changed. I ordered a grilled catfish po'boy, hoping to avoid more grease. Unfortunately, the sandwich was served on a grocery store hoagie bun, and the tots suffered from above mentioned grease issue. Another disappointing choice, as was my husband's catfish plate. The hush puppies were large and inviting looking, but the taste was pure grease. I should add that the service was pretty bad- inefficient and slow, and if I had used the restroom before I ordered, I would have just left. I don't recommend this place at all. 0 stars if I could.

It's all good! Definitely give the shrimp and grits a try. The fried oysters were very good as well.

Large Bacon Cheeseburger and Sweet Tater fries....to die for!

Went back 8 months later and got same thing and it was either better than before or just forgot how good the Bacon Cheeseburger (with all the fixins) and Sweet Tater fries are. Service was great, and super fast for a home cooked meal. They serve breakfast all day and maybe one day i will try something new, but was craving this dish for a long time. So glad it was better than before!!! Gotta stop here for a great local place to avoid all of the chains.

What an excellent Yelp find! I love when you drive down a highway and pull out the Yelp app and find something you would have never in a million years found otherwise! That's this place! If you like real people and real food this is the place to be. I loved the small town feel and just the overall welcoming aura this place has. I had a great breakfast plate with all of the fixings. My wife was overjoyed to find a place that had tomato gravy. All in all, we were very happy with our meals. I'm really glad we made it in here and I hope I make back here again. If you are driving by and are unsure if you should take the gamble on this place, I say go for it!!! It's totally worth the detour to stop! They even have a giant rocking chair out front!

The BEST place to eat anywhere around Pope or Enid Lake... HANDS DOWN!!! If you are looking for an awesome place to dine in or carry out.. this is the place for you!! I haven't eaten anything that wasn't good at this restaurant! They have great lunch specials that includes a meat, 3 sides and dessert, but they don't last long at all! So get there around 11am if you want a filling home cooked lunch plate! Besides for the lunch specials, My husband and I like the breakfast menu, philly steak sandwiches, cheeseburgers and my favorite is the kickin shrimp appetizer and the fried shrimp platter! The shrimp are battered & fried perfectly and are a nice big size, not skimpy popcorn shrimp! We haven't tried everything on the menu yet. So favorites are being added weekly! lol They usually have a fresh baked cake for dessert! The people.... the staff is fantastic... every person is super nice, attentive and helpful! The cooks do an amazing job of creating a delicious foodie experience!! You can't go wrong eating here or carrying out!! This place is truly a "Diamond in the Rough"

Tried the shrimp and grits. Little to no flavor. Not even the shrimp were good. Good service, but not good food.

The restaurant appears to be in an old time country store despite the depot name. The kind of store that has long ago disappeared. Upon walking in, our party of six was greeted, seated and immediately we felt appreciate for our patronage. We ordered onion rings and grilled oysters... the onion rings were huge and heavily battered and if you like them that way.... then get them. I prefer thinly sliced and lighter batter. Rings were served with what looked like comeback sauce but oddly had no flavor to the sauce . The oysters were different, not bad but we all agreed we would try something different next time... I think we were expecting the normal garlic/butter/parmesan cheese preparation. Half of us upgraded our salad to the spinach bacon salad. It was total worth it and delicious! Three in the party for prime rib and thought it was the best they had. The servings were generous. Two of us had filets...they were very good! I had the redfish which was also good and very rich! We shared a crème brûlée for the table as we were all so full...the sugar was a bit over torched but the brûlée under it was excellent! Over all the food was fantastic but what really set the evening over the top was the live entertainment! Needless to say we will be back. If you are with in driving distance or passing through, then this place is worth going out of the way for!

I was kind of worried since it's a nice looking place surrounded by businesses that appear to be permanently closed. However, a crowd picked up closer to 8, so I can tell it's a local favorite. Our server was amazing! Didn't have to ask for refills, condiments or anything. She handled us really well and answered any questions we had. I ordered one of the daily specials, blackened redfish. Menu said it came on orzo, which I don't like so I subbed for the long grain rice. I added a side of broccolini. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. My fish, with that Cajun cream sauce, melted in my mouth! I didn't like the rice, as it was gummy but the broccolini was cooked as if a gold medal was the prize at the end of the night! My only misgiving about it was I wanted more of it!

I would suggest calling for reservations. I told them we were celebrating an 80th birthday but there was no recognition. We ordered appetizers: Fried Green Tomatoes: these came with a crawfish sauce which was excellent! Savory and creamy, a perfect compliment to the tanginess on the tomatoes. Duck Wraps: such a great combination of the duck, creamy cheese, spicy jalapeños and salty bacon. Boudin Egg Rolls: these were spicy. Not my jam at all. They were cooked well with a crispy crust and moist spicy inside stuffing. For Dinners: The ribeye: we're used to a $55 steak being a very high quality and well cooked. I just don't think the price equaled the steak. The bone in pork chop was very well seasoned and was perfectly cooked. There was a lot of fat on the chop both throughout and on the edges. The sides were very good! The zucchini and summer squash was the star of the plate. Well seasoned and cooked in a way that they had a slight crispiness. Simple yet wonderful. The baked sweet potato was wonderful, creamy and buttery. The Tuscan Chicken: this is as served on a bed of rice. The chicken was cooked well, juicy and tender. The sauce was creamy with sun dried tomatoes and spinach. The sauce needed salt. The Redfish: perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The rice was also well seasoned. Very good dish The fried catfish was well seasoned and cooked well. The tartar sauce was made in house and very good. The blackened catfish was very good. Well seasoned. 6 entrees, 5 appetizer orders and 3 coffees with the 20% tip that was automatically added to our ticket due to having 6 people in our party was $358. I felt it was a fair price for what we received. Service was good.

I don't know why, I'm just cool and mysterious like that. They didn't have the full lunch menu available today, they only had a lunch plate special. And damn what a plate it was. 2 pieces fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, and a biscuit. The fried chicken had a sauce over it that was very reminiscent of Uncle Lou's sweet spicy love sauce but with less of the heat. That's a good thing for our table because one of the kids is not a spicy fan. Think I'm gonna need a DNA test on that one because I don't know what's up with that. In addition to the lunch counter there is also a full butcher shop with many different cuts of pork and beef. Prices seemed pretty reasonable as well and although I didn't get anything from the butcher I'll bet it's a damn sight better than what you'll get at Kroger. Everyone we dealt with (okay there were only 2 people, the lady at the register and the guy cooking) was very friendly, checking in without a few times throughout the meal, asking if it's our first time (it was) and welcoming us. Since I grew up a hop, skip, and jump away from Como, off of Highway 310 in Marshall County, I was eager to check out the farm store on one of my upcoming visits back home. I finally got to stop by this past weekend, and I ordered takeout for lunch on Sunday, which consisted of 4 smoked brisket sandwiches, 2 wedge salads, 2 orders of egg rolls, a basket of French fries, and 3 slices of chocolate pie. The customer service I received during my visit was superb, and I throughly enjoyed the butcher shop meets Hill Country cafe vibes in the dining area while I waited for my food to be prepared. Once I got back to my mom's house, I realized both salads came with bacon, which meant the pescatarian in our family couldn't eat her meal. Other than that small hiccup, everything else was phenomenal! My family raved about the smoke brisket sandwiches, and I really enjoyed the egg rolls, wedge salad, French fries, and slice of chocolate pie that I ate. Overall, a great experience, and I look forward to stopping by again in the future when I'm back home in North Mississippi.
