I appreciate that they let you taste the cream cheese. Bagel was good, but not hot even though I got it toasted so maybe they didn't do it long enough. The cream cheeses are delish! I got toasted almond & fig + cinnamon raisin & honey. Egg sandwich was fresh but I probably should have gotten jam to combat some dryness. Only 4 counter seats to sit inside and 4 tables to sit outside. Parking: street spots and I think a lot in the back.

I got the Brooklyn on rye, which comes with pastrami, coleslaw, cheese, spicy mustard, and Russian dressing and WOW. When I pulled this sandwich out of the bag, it was still so warm and the bread was incredibly soft. The pastrami was flavorful, the toppings went together perfectly, and that spicy mustard + Russian dressing combo was SO good. I'm telling you, this sandwich was literally to die for! And the location couldn't have been more convenient because it's right across the street from Swig. Of course, I had to get myself a Texas Tab with lime from Swig first and then walk across the street for my sandwich. Honestly, the perfect little food stop! I'm so glad I was absolutely starving that day and just looking for somewhere to eat because I randomly stumbled upon this place. Sometimes the best food finds happen when you're not even looking for them! Definitely adding Brooklyn Bagel & Deli to my list of places I need to go back to.

I owe Brooklyn Deli an apology for not finding them sooner…read more As a New Yorker turned Atlantan, I have spent the last year quietly lowering my expectations for bagels here. I've had some that were OK. Some that were good-ish. Some that were simply round bread with a hole in the middle. I began to accept that it just wasn't a thing here. And then today I ordered the whitefish bagel from Brooklyn Deli. Oh. My. God. The bagel was chewy, fresh, and actually tasted like a BAGEL. The whitefish was incredible. The whole thing tasted like nostalgia. Like somebody briefly picked me up from Atlanta and dropped me back on 24th and 3rd for brunch. Absolutely remarkable. No notes. My bagel-related cynicism has been temporarily suspended, and Brooklyn Deli has earned the extremely prestigious approval of one extremely dramatic former New Yorker.

It's light years ahead of J Christopher's, White Hall, First Watch, you game it. Now you won't get a fancy coffee or Instagram able photo, but you'll get solid food. I've been eating here for years and genuinely crave it about every three weeks...it's that good. You really can't go wrong. Portions are generous especially for the price, service is consistently solid (though wait times can vary, it's popular!), and with so many locations you can usually find one nearby. They're also great about modifying cooking oils for those of us who prefer olive oil or other healthier options. My go-to is an omelette or the nova scramble, with home fries -- big, crispy potato chunks with sautéed peppers and onions -- plus a side of toast, English muffin, or bagel (or swap for salad or fruit). My husband swears by their latkes, too. Classic, satisfying, and a total win for brunch lovers.

One thing I really like about this place is the staff; they are very friendly. I haven't tried any of the entrees yet, but I've enjoyed their pastries, especially the Cardamom Brioche Knot. For drinks, my favorites so far have been the Matcha Latte and Iced Coffee. That said, I find their coffee to be on the more bitter side. Even the Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which I typically expect to be sweeter, leans more bitter and less sweet here.

Every day this week that I was there, I had an issue with either they made something wrong or gave me less than desirable bagels or even put an everything bagel unwrapped in with sweet bagels and they were left covered with seasoning. I always add a tip even though I think it's ridiculous to tip before you even know what you're going to get, but today I only gave them $.92 to round up to the next dollar since this week has not gone well. This bagel is burnt and most likely inedible. I ordered it uncut and untoasted because I was going to take it home with me and it will be a struggle to make it have any life in it because if I toast it, it will just be terrible since it's already burnt and bitter. Apparently $.92 is not good enough, so I got the crappiest bagel in the bin and there were lots of nice ones. I guess no matter how busy I am, if I want a bagel, I will have to drive out of my way and go to BB's!

My blood sugar was low and I absolutely could not resist eating the cookie on my way home. Wow.. It was so chewy and delicious. Both flavors come through really nicely. On to the bagels... These are, by far, the best bagels I've had in Atlanta. Honestly, they put the chain bagel spots to shame. The interior is really open and has that beautiful sourdough tang. Umm.. two bagels. Put them in a bag, hand them to me. Easy. But no. I waited at that window, watching the two employees making sandwiches, while I'm waiting for TWO AS-IS BAGELS. What?!? THEN, I see dude in the back cutting, what looks like the two flavors of the bagels I ordered AS IS, so I say "Sir, no! That's not how I want them or ordered them." To receive ZERO response.
