What a cool place and yummy popcorn. Ever since this spot opened in Bixby Knolls, I have been wanting to make a stop because I LOVE popcorn. First off, shout out to the owners dad who talked about his son's business and how he moved back to SoCal to help him out. To help support their business, I decided to but a few bags since I loved their story. Plus, the shop was cool, service was great, and you are immersed by the popcorn scent once you walk in. Most importantly, there are so many flavors and if you are undecided like I was, they allow you to try 3 flavors. After deliberation and going back and forth which felt like hours, actually 2 minutes, I ended up taking home Doritos Cool Ranch, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Dill Pickle. Doritos Cool Ranch: Tastes just like the chips, and as a matter of fact, there are chip crumbs throughout the bag which is a plus because it is one of my favorites. It's mind boggling how they can master the taste and trick your mind, thinking you are eating a bag of chips. Not too salty, popcorn was fresh, and the taste was perfection. By the time we realized, the bag was done and had us wanting more. Strawberry Cheesecake: Sweet but delicious. Definitely tasted like I was eating cheesecake. Cool tip-eat one of the pink and white kernels to get the true taste and be sure to savor it. Dill Pickle: I am not a fan of pickles but I would make an exception because it had a great taste. My boyfriend enjoyed this a lot, too. As soon as I tried one, it was as if I was eating a pickle but it wasn't overpowering. When I was in Tokyo Disneyland, one of the best things there was the unique popcorn flavors. Our Disney resorts have nothing like it. Pop'N Flavors in Long Beach fills this craving that I had for gourmet popcorn plus some. Spent $30 for three medium bags - it's pricey but worth it. The reason is because the flavors are interesting, unique, and potent. They are also helpful with sampling flavors so that you can choose the perfect combos. The good is the establishment is close to home. I'm a super lover of popcorn. I can have it for a meal with a glass of iced tea! I have been there many times with my grandchildren, but never by myself. The last time I went, ii was alone and it was for one of my grandchildren who was in college and couldn't go. I think he might be an even bigger fan than I am. I suddenly realized, Being a serve safe manager that the popcorn already popped are these 5 gallon plastic buckets with an airtight lid. I'm sure that for maybe five days or so the popcorn will stay fresh as if it came out of the popper, however , some of the less popular flavors might be there for an unknown time. I came in with my family on a late weekend afternoon. The shop was empty except for the 2 young ladies behind the counter. No greeting when we walked in. We said it was our first time there and they did not explain their offerings, sizes, pricing or that we could try samples. I asked if they offered samples, we tried a few things, made our purchase and left. I'm pretty sure neither of them cracked smile or offered a courtesy the whole time we were there. I have been a long time fan of Pop'N Flavors, previously known as Popcorn World. Customers typically get to sample up to 5 flavors (don't know if the rule has changed) but I come so often that I have tried every flavor. Our favorite sweet popcorn is the Oreo Mint and our favorite savory is Snake Bite (because I love spicy). I love this place so much that I asked them to mass produce my two favorite flavors for our wedding. It is owned by a very friendly couple. They made the process very simple and made our wedding day extra special. Everybody LOVED the Oreo Mint and guests were taking multiple bags. I stopped by and was warmly welcomed by (what I assume were) the owners--super friendly and helpful! I decided to pick up some popcorn as holiday gifts for my colleagues and friends. Popcorn is such an easy, neutral gift that pretty much everyone enjoys. Before visiting, I checked out their website to browse the flavors, and wow--there are so many! It can feel a bit overwhelming, so I'd recommend narrowing down a few options beforehand. Once you're there, you can sample three flavors for free (additional samples come at a small charge, which is understandable--it's not Costco!). For gifts, I went with their seasonal flavor, Biscoff (a no-brainer even without tasting it), along with Salted Butter Caramel--so good! For something savory and a little different, I chose Bacon Cheddar, which was a hit. I also grabbed a bag of their Chicago mix (sweet and savory) for variety--it's a perfect all-around option if you're not gifting multiple flavors. The popcorn here is incredibly fresh with unique flavors, and I'm already eyeing the Strawberry Cheesecake for my next visit. I love this place. Whenever, I come in everyone is so pleasant. The last time, the cutest little girl said "try birthday cake" lol when my husband went in days later she said "try snickers" lol I mean, there's no better promotion! Popcorn is my go to snack because it's so fun to eat and it can literally be sweet, savory or anything else you want it to be- it's literally the chameleon of snacks and it's my favorite! I've been dying to try this place and the day finally arrived! I was pretty overwhelmed by the number of flavors. The girl said like 250 or some other crazy number and around 90 flavors were available. Not to be a hater but allowing only 3 samples is kind of crazy. A better business model might be to give unlimited samples and make suggestions to customers, especially those like me who love variety and will overindulge when give any opportunity. I would've bought more than one bag if I had the opportunity to try more flavors! Aside from that, customer service was great, 2000s r&b playing was great, location great, but $8.00 a bag for small is a lot to pay for the amount you get-. Highly disappointed. Came here for vegan savory popcorn and so much has changed. It's no longer "Popcorn World" either. The sweet girl working the counter was friendly but it wasn't a good look that she was not knowledgeable and had not familiarized herself about their flavors. Dill, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper and select gourmet (like Vegan Caramel) are up for grab, ask and you shall receive. I bought a bag of the Vegan Dill and we need more! The Sea Salt, Strawberry Cheesecake and Dirty Dill are local favorites. The candy bar and cereal style varieties are endless... Definitely a flavor for everyone. We had a great time stopping into Popcorn World in Bixby Knolls when we were on a stroll with friends. You get to try 3 different flavors per person. In a group of 4 people, that's 12 different flavors, so you can really get around the room and try a lot of different options. They have so many flavors that you will never taste them all, which is cool because it keeps it new every time. It feels like wine tasting, but more innocent for the little kid inside all of us. Flavors can be broken up into sections; savory, sweet, and spicy. I will be the first one to say that the Loaded Potato Skin flavor tastes just like you are eating a loaded potato skin! We ended up getting 4 small bags, 3 for us and one as a gift for a coworker. We got Green Apple, Spicy Dill Pickle (highly recommended), and 2 bags of Snake Bite (ghost pepper). We ended up spending around $38. It is a great date night stop because it is an activity, great for groups or a couple because it is fun to taste and talk about each one as you go. If you are in Bixby Knolls, it is definitely worth stopping in to check it out. It was a bit more expensive than I anticipated. I would say everything was about $3 more than I expected it to be. The smallest bag was $8.99, medium $12.99 and up from there. I understand these are some unique flavors, you can't get them just anywhere, a premium product...but gdamn! I wish they had a size below the small, like a micro bag for $3 or $4 or something, because what I really wanted to do is take home as many strange flavors as possible. Can you fall in love with a popcorn shop? Yes! And Popcorn World is the place. I'm not even the type of person who normally eats popcorn. Never order it at the movies. Wouldn't choose it as my preferred snack. I'll munch on it if it's right there, sure, but before I stepped foot in Popcorn World I had no expectations of wanting to come back over and over to try all the different varieties. I was wrong. It's not just the great flavors (of which there are many), but the awesome staff who make everyone who walks through the door feel welcome. They clearly love their popcorn, but they also love their customers whether you've shopped there a million times or it's your first time walking through the door. Not sure what to try? Better late than never! So, I was sent a text a couple of days ago suggesting I head to this gourmet popcorn spot( I usually pop my own kernels on the stove top). Four words: Come to Popcorn World. This place is awesome!!! It is such a wonderful and original idea and I really enjoyed coming by the other day and checking it out for myself. The workers here are so so nice and welcoming. I didn't catch any of their names but the women working the front counter was so sweet to us. She let us try so many different flavors and they all taste great! They make it so hard to pick just one. Eventually, I settled on a medium bag of southwest jalapeño and salt and vinegar. Service here tends to go by pretty quickly but I noticed that they constantly have someone coming in, whether it's just one person at a time or a group of people. STEPH JUDGEMENT: An astonishing array of flavors and great service. File this under: "businesses that I didn't even know I wanted". I don't consider myself a popcorn nut; I mostly only get popcorn when I'm at the movies, and that's not even all the time. So when I saw this storefront go up, I was deeply skeptical. How could popcorn, however flavored, warrant a whole store? Well thanks to my fellow Yelpers, my eyes have seen the light and my mouth has tasted the glorious bounty of Popcorn World. When somebody wrote "strawberry cheesecake", some kind of Pavlovian response happened and I knew I had to try it. I popped in around 1pm on a Thursday to finally check it out. Since I was the only customer in the store at the time, I felt I could take my time and peruse all the flavors. There were so many! I only tried Strawberry Cheesecake and Crab Legs, though--I didn't want to get my tongue all confused with too many flavors. With the Strawberry Cheesecake, I was instructed by the nice young woman manning the counter to eat both the pink and white kernels together, to form the full flavor, and it was truly delicious! I don't know if I could really say I tasted crab in The Crab Legs, but they were savory and delicious, nonetheless--I wouldn't throw those Crab Legs out of bed! I decided to get a gift card and a small bag of Strawberry Cheesecake. The young woman asked me if I wanted the bag open and or closed, and explained that if I left it open, she could fill the bag to the brim with popcorn, past the ziplock line. If you can go with this option, do it--you get a quite a bit more popcorn! It was very nice of her to offer that, and it certainly added another note of satisfaction to my visit.
