Steve, the owner, is very knowledgeable of wine and will even help you pair a special meal to what he has in stock. In addition to their wide variety of wine, they also carry a selection of cheeses and goods such as pickle chips, amazing sardines, olive oil, etc.. they even have ice cream! I can't forget to mention their sandwich selection. I am obsessed with the rosemary ham sandwich that is paired with this cherry jam that is to die for. Open 7 days a week, Wine Cheese Etc. provides a great service to the Long Beach community for wine, cheese, and ... butter? We stopped by on a Monday afternoon, and there was plenty of parking (shared parking strip mall parking lot). I have been on the lookout for the best butter I could find to eat with fresh bread, since our Europe trip and settled on 'Rodolphe Le Meunier' to try. I was pleasantly surprised that one of the places that carry it, was right here in LBC. It's a smaller shop, manageable by one person. The owner/proprietor was very friendly, and gave us some suggestions on cheese (which we followed: Milton Praire Breeze $8.99) and fresh European bread, which we intend to try (with the purchased butter of course). I'm a sucker for sour dough flatbread crisps, so had to pick up a box of that ($8.50). Note that it has a small variety of cheeses, all already individually pre-wrapped (this is not a cheese shop where they have wheels of cheese, ready to be cut on-demand). Love this place! They have a great selection of wines for a humble shop. Steve, the store owner, is very friendly and knowledgeable about wines and where they come from. So if you need help choosing a wine, Steve is your guy. My husband prefers red wine whereas I prefer wines to be on the sweeter side ie moscatos. Steve introduced us to "Stay in Bed Red" and "La Morandina" which is from Italy. I was excited to try the real deal moscato and it was definitely the best moscato I've had so far. As for the Stay in Bed Red, my hubby and I really liked it! In addition to wines, this is a one stop shop for all your hosting needs, a quiet night in or a hostess gift. We were invited to one of their exclusive wine tasting events and we had the BEST time! Steve and Kerri, Wine Cheese Etc's wonderful owners, hosted this intimate wine tasting event where they shared 3 tastings of CAMP wine -- a Chardonnay, Merlot, and the Zinfandel (Steve's favorite!). They also prepared a beautifully crafted charcuterie board decked out with some of their best products sold right in store. You know I had to grab some of that "crack cheese" -- a sheep and goat cheese marinated in olive oil that is to die for! I enjoyed chatting away with fellow wine and charcuterie board enthusiasts. There was also a raffle with exciting prizes such as a cheese box for 4 and two bottles of wine from their monthly wine club. The etc. is true -- they provide so much more than just wine and cheese! Decided to check this place out since I needed to bring something for a potluck. Placed a charcuterie board order with Steve. My box had a great selection of gourmet items. It had a trio of different salami samplers. It had dried nectarines, dried cranberries, fresh blueberries, and fresh grapes for fruit options. There were also 3 types of cheeses. Loved that one was sheep's milk. I also loved that there were also olive, cornichons, marcona almonds, and other types of nuts. It also came with 3 different types of crackers with a mini cup of honey. Honestly, it was very well thought out. I truly loved the variety in the box. My friends loved it. Steve exemplified great customer service. There were also other items in store. It was pretty spacious. There isn't anywhere for seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go type vibe. This business has now turned me away twice when trying to order. The first time I was trying to order day of so I can understand. Second time I called more than a day in advance and was still refused. Shop somewhere that values your business. Steve doesn't care about the business. Nice response to try and show you care about your clientele but it's very dishonest. Steve was very rude on the phone I'm surprised this store has any good reviews. We came for the Grab and Go sandwich. The Truffle Shuffle was a tasty sandwich - my only complaint is that my husband and I couldn't taste any truffle at all (and we love truffle). It's a tad pricey for a sandwich of that size but you can taste that they use good ingredients so it makes sense. If they change the Truffle Shuffle to have a truffle taste, I'd be down to try it again! read more

We catered sandwiches and a charcuterie from Wine Cheese etc for our daughter's first birthday, every aspect was exceptional. I sent my husband to place the order and he came back saying it was not only easy but they were informative, helpful and so nice. The food was delivered right on time and packaged beautifully. There were stickers and inserts that detailed all of the food. The presentation was great and guests could easily choose what they liked. The food itself was amazing. I cannot say enough great things about Wine Cheese Etc. I went in for a work event the first time two years ago and I haven't stopped going! I love the events and people I have met at them. The shop carries an amazing variety of, well as stated in the title Wine Cheese Etc. I am currently obsessed with a Lambrusco Rosé, I love the pickle chips, I hope they don't sell out. My favorite cheese kept selling out after I posted it on my IG and I am happy about it but I really want some. (Steve let me know when it's back!) Steven and Kerri are the sweetest people! He knows his stuff, it probably has to do with his history in the restaurant world. I don't recall it all but it's on the stores IG and you can learn more about them there. Speaking of learning, I so much every time I stop in, and he remembers what I like. (See above) Kerri is adorable and love getting to see them both in the shop! I know he tests his amazing sandwiches out on her and I am jealous! I will say that my favorite is the Truffle Shuffle, I am obsessed with its whipped topping and all the flavors go together perfectly! I tell everyone about it, pair it with the pickle chips add your beverage of choice (I like a Mexican coke or the Lambrusco, he sells both) and you've got a perfect lunch, if you want a sweet treat after, he sells gelato, yummy ice cream or you can get the best almond toffee popcorn! Obsessed! This is my go to shop for cheese boxes. I always have to consider distance vs quality and Wine Cheese Etc wins me over, even if I have to drive a bit further. It's a no brainer, their selections of fruits, cheese, meats, jams and crackers are excellent. The presentation is beautiful which includes a cute ribbon, a description card and side box of cracker varieties. The box (for 4) can look deceiving but you really get more than enough to feed your guests and sometimes even leftovers. So far I've purchased several boxes, the cheese box for 4 and the cheese box for 8. I personally like the fuller box for 8ppl, but either box is great. My experience with ordering even during the holidays has been smooth. If it's around a holiday I always order 2 weeks in advance to secure a box. If it's a non holiday order, their site is pretty specific on ordering times, request at least a day before but before 5pm...weekends and holidays can require more time. I typically submit a request form through their website, get a confirmation with a link and prepay my item. Usually this is a great time for me to ask additional questions and the owner responds fairly quick. Pick up is also smooth, I've never had issues. These cheese boxes are excellent for any size gatherings and even get the kiddos talking about their favorite meat, cheese, spread and cracker combo. read more

We have been following the updates on this darling wine and cheese shop from the beginning, eagerly awaiting their grand opening. We finally got to visit a few weeks after their opening and had a wonderful experience meeting the owner, Steve Murray, who greeted us upon entering while still helping others in the shop. We were impressed at the variety of wine, beer, cheese, pantry, and gift items from around the world, from saffron and tapenades to bamboo cheese knives and quirky t-shirts! This little shop has it all! Items are all reasonably priced, Steve was very helpful and knowledgeable about the beers and wines he recommended and we loved how curated the store was, which made it so very personal to him and so appealing for us to know he knew the product. Our first trip was such a success, we signed up for the 2 bottle wine membership and are very excited to try what Steve has selected this month! We have now ordered 4 different charcuterie platters from here over the last 6 months or so and every time they have been phenomenal. We have brought them to Christmas parties and even brought some on the Duffy boat for lunchtime snacks. We have gotten something a little different each time and we are always pleasantly surprised.
