I'm not sure how I have not reviewed this place, I used to live a block away from this joint and would swing by every weekend to check out their beer selection. Now a days everyone is boasting their Craft Beer selection, well, these guys have been in the game since day one, ya dig! They got your IPAs, DIPAs, Sours, Hefs, Belgiums, Amber Ales, Lagers, Game of Throne beers, Hobbit Beers, Rogue Beers, H24, and the list goes on and on and on. If you're a beer enthusiast, stop your reading and get your booty down to Jones Liquor store. The people that run it are awesome too, very friendly and accommodating. This has been my go to local liquor store for years. I will not be back before covid is over. They have signs saying masks are required, but the cashier does not wear one. I just tried to stop by and pick up some beer, but left after seeing the cashier and multiple customers not wearing masks. Due to the risk groups I am in I will not be returning until either covid is over or they start following the rules. read more

I am from the northwest. Microbrew capital of the world. Since getting to Long Beach, I hadn't found a single store with a decent selection of beer until I walked by Jones Liquor one evening. Instead of the normal overwhelming shitty American lagers, and poor choice of micro's that everyone else had, I was excited to see one cabinet that had some Stone, Anderson Valley, Dogfish Head. I was beside myself finally stumbling upon a store like this. Then the gentleman standing beside me pointed out that the entire other side of the cooler was nothing by micobrews. WOW! they have about 6 cabinets worth of good beer selection. of course they still have the crappy american stuff, but you can also find an array of IPA, brown ale, English German or other Euro brews and more. Fabulous place for snacks and such! Huge variety of drinks, candy, chips, and household supplies If you don't feel like getting lost in Rite Aid down the street (don't get me wrong I love Rite Aid), definitely come here! I got used to the liquor stores in Chico, CA. Endless types of impots, micro brewery, and ofcourse Chico's very own Sierra Nevada. And I must say, I'm impressed. Eddie goes out of his way to make available whatever you want. If they don't have it, ask Eddie if he can get it. More than likely he will. Now, this isn't a discount type LQ...but the domestic is priced fair market. And as well, there are various food items for your cravings and pets too. As well as bread, breakfast essentials, and yogurt, juices, and ice cream. And PIZZA.... if you get there and the guy at the register doesn't give your change with a sweet parlor trick, that's Frank. Eddie, the new owner of Jone's Liquor comes from Benson's Liquor at 4th and Ximeno, the place with all the great beer and wine selections. Well, Eddie has brought all the best from there and brought it to Jone's Liquor. New paint, new look, and a great new smile to the neighborhood. So hats off to Eddie for all the hard work he put into this place! If you are looking for some obscure beers, this is the place to go. Some breweries only deliver their beer to a handful of stores in SoCal, and Jones is now one of them. You might even find a few you've never heard of before. Finally a liquor store that carries FRENCH WINE.... So tired of the run of the mill - find anywhere Gnarley Head, Barefoot and Flip Flop generics.... I picked up a bottle of Fernand Cellier Vigneron - Cotes Du Rhone Red and it was delicious with the BBQ steaks my hubby threw on the grill. Seriously, could I have more stars for this review please?! Have been going to this store now 7 years as I live a block away and it is not only the convenient, it's inventory is out of this world! Great craft beer, good liquor and wine selection and they have a lot of other food items, and other things you might need in a pinch. Great ice cream box and will get you your favorite flavor, if they don't already have it! Same goes with wine, beer, and just about anything you might be purchasing on a regular bases. Their complete staff is outstanding! Eddie and Frankie are the best and who I generally see when I visit the store! Eddie is quick to ad suggested products to his inventory, extremely helpful, professional and just an all around nice guy! Frankie's professionalism is amazing and he takes great price in helping all customers with outstanding customer service skills. He is a joy to deal with and he enjoys every customer as much as us, "regulars"! ;) Always a fun experience. I highly recommend this place and will be a loyal customer for many years to come! I recently purchased a pack of beer and noticed they charged me twice. Confronting them on the phone, they insisted that I would have to open a claim with my bank because they didn't want to refund me the money (even with proof.) Approaching them in the store was even worse, the younger man with glasses that works there, the one who placed the transaction, is the most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. He made a scene saying my bank was "effed up/stupid" in front of other customers and how it was MY fault they charged me twice? Which it would be the employees fault of charging someone TWICE. He also stated that he didn't even want to bother looking through the receipts of last night to refund me, and If I wanted him to do so I would have to go in at night. He said "this always happens and customers have to go through their bank to get refunded." Obviously not everyone's bank is stupid, it's the way they do business, how they handle transactions, and how they treat customers. You shouldn't berate customers, steal from them, not apologize once, and then call them difficult because of a mistake one of YOUR employees made. That guy is literally an embarrassment for this establishment on how he presents himself and the business he works for. It's not about the money, it's the principal of being a trustworthy business. So moral of the story is- if you go here, CHECK THE RECEIPT!! read more
