I have been planning a trip to Japan for some months now. I had been seeing Daiso as a "must stop"…read moreon my Japan travel guides. Little did I know that I had a piece of Japan in my own backyard. What is Daiso like? A little bit of everything we are used to. a Dollar Store essentially, but it's got better items, IMO. Most items are priced anywhere from around 2 bucks to 5. Of course, there are things that might cost more, but on average, this is what you're going to run into price-wise. Now, what's inside? Sort of everything? If you need random home gadgets you never knew about, this is the place for you. Daiso is neatly organized and laid out in a way that is build for browsing. You could you spend hours combing the aisles trying to figure everything out- some things are easier than others for sure. I love going here and just picking up random things and figuring out for myself what their use is. Sometimes it's a fail, and sometimes its a win. The home items here are pretty useful. Is it the highest quality? Maybe not, but it's like 3 bucks so I'm not expecting it to last forever. It's a great place if you're trying to build up items in your home, specifically I'd say your kitchen and your bathroom for super cheap.

I had my first Daiso experiences in Korea - I guess for that reason I thought they were Korean but should know better based on their name. They are Japanese-owned and they have so many cute stuff. I didn't buy anything for this visit but may go back someday. I did do a double-take looking at their rounded hangars which are perfect for sweaters if you like to hang your sweaters ... what thoughtful hangars lol. I was hoping they'd have the cutesy stationery but they don't ... they do have stickers and notebooks though. Welcome Daiso!

Was with two friends looking for a birthday gift for a former boss of ours. Lots of color from all the merchandise popped out as soon as we walked into the store. Swoozie's was very inviting, as were the employees who greeted me and asked if I needed help looking for anything. The store was neat, clean and well organized. This store stocks lots of items that will help you celebrate special occasions. Gifts, cards, stationery, invitations, and decorations are among so many different quality items that they sell. Most of these items are organized into specific sections of the store. For example, just about all of the cards are in the card section, and the invitations are in the invitation section. However, gifts are spread throughout the store, so customers have to walk through the entire store to get a good idea of what they stock. The three of us looked through the whole store for a birthday gift for our ex-manager, but nothing jumped out at us. While we all agreed that they have high quality merchandise in Swoozie's, we all thought that the prices were generally expensive - more expensive than what we want to pay, unless they were on clearance.

I personally have not played with Legos since I was a kid, but I was fascinated with the store and all the options it had available for children and adults of all ages. The ambiance is very nice and colorful. There is a specific area dedicated to kids for building your own Lego station so you can purchase bulk Lego pieces to help build that specific building or landmark. The Lego Store has a rewards program for frequent shoppers that is very worthwhile if you shop at the Lego store on a regular basis. My friends were able to get a free Lego item and a huge discount on one of their Lego build your own sets. The value of Legos has always been #1 over the years, and the items sold in the Lego Store take no exception to the rule. The staff at the Lego Store are definitely knowledgeable about the products and items from what I have witnessed, and they are very helpful in helping you get what you want at the store. This was a good experience for my first time in the Lego Store. I do not know if I will ever purchase a Lego item myself, but I will come back to get something for my friends. It is worth the price.
