Pop Culture Comix

If you're a pop culture junky, you owe it to yourself to check out Pop Culture Comix. To be sure, they have loads of comic books, but there's so much more packed into this little store. I went in for a quick look around only to find myself browsing the trading cards, nostalgic gifts, books, games and accessories, all the while wishing I was a kid again. When I think comics I think of the "man" characters -- Superman, Batman and so on. Pop Culture Comix had these guys and so many more: Xmen, Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Marvel & DC characters. All of the good guys and bad guys were there. The store's action figures ranged from music personalties like Alice Cooper and Elvis to cartoon, movie, and TV characters. Whether you're a Star Wars fan or a Simpsons junky, Pop Culture Comix can hook you up. I've always considered comic books a "guy" thing, so I was surprised to see all the female characters that Pop Culture Comix carries. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, She Hulk, Wonder Woman, Vixen, Hawk Girl, Dark Ivory ... you name her, they probably have her comic, her figurines or both. I had a great time looking around, and I saw some potential gift items that I haven't seen anywhere else. I also take comfort in knowing that if I ever need a Buffy fix or a 1950s TV Guide reissue, I know just where to go.

Best comic shop I have been to in years. They have a really great store. Sid is super nice, he will happily chat with you and he will remember your name when you come back in time after time. They have DC Marvel, IDW, Darkhorse, Archie and more. So many comics to choose from and they even have a kids section in the back for stuff like Sonic the Hedghog, My Little, Pony and more. So if you like that you can get those here to besides the more popular things. They also sell all sorts of Graphic Novels and busts and figures of all kinds. They also have older issues for sale as well as a few box's of older variant covers. They also provide a loyalty card where you buy so many comics you get one free but the best idea is to subscribe to to comics using there website and comixology. You can get a bit of a discount when you subscribe. They even sell comics supply's, bags and boards. The store also participates in Free Comic Book Day, helping to raise food for the hungry.

Sid will go out of his way to get you want you want, and if he doesn't have it he'll probably order it for you.

So, I was fairly new to comics a few years ago. I've been a huge fan of TMNT and wanted to support…read morea local shop for the run of The Last Ronin. The shop owner told me that there was a delay in shipment (which happens a lot) then when it came I ignorantly believed it was a first print (didn't verify, that's on me) and was charge $20 for it! Fast forward years later, I've let that go. I can't go back in time and change it. And I've decided to let it go and continue going to a store that over charges and lies. I bought the Invincible Omnibus volume 1 and it was clearly read and mishandled spine cracked and not in the greatest condition but still paid full price. I could've got it on Amazon for less, NEW. But once again I let it go. I've been going back every week to see if things change but they don't. Then this last time I went the shop owner was entertaining racist conversation from an ignorant customer. It's been over a week since this happened. I usually go in with my headphones because I get over stimulated in a small crowded space like this shop so I've never noticed this before, but that day I didn't have my headphones in. So, I heard everything. I have receipts showing that I've spent over $200 dollars in December/January at this shop and I regret giving them my business. Needless to say I will not be going back.

Great selection of comics and pop culture. Great staff! Always adding something new. Great comic…read morebook community! William knows his stuff and is a bright spot in the Kansas City / Overland Park business community. All that said "the Tacos were cold"

I've seen a lot of reviews about Clint's comics and I'm glad I have never been there to buy any…read morecomics but there is one comic book shop that I have been to and i goes there every day it's crossroads comics and art if you're looking for a great comic book shop with great customer service and if you're looking for any comics from hi thanks the '70s '80s '90s to current I recommend you to go there the owner and her husband are great with customers and they treat them greatly.

I've been wanting to come to this store for several years now, and I wish I had read the reviews…read morebefore I came. But honestly, I wouldn't have believed the reviews if I didn't experience it myself. I've been going to comic shops since the mid-eighties as a child, and I've never been to a comic shop where you're not allowed to come into the store. Especially at Christmas time. This is money-making time... But nope, locked up like a dog in heat during mid day posted business hours. Plus, the rules plastered all over the door to enter. If you're going to have so many rules, at least let people in the door. The owner is going have a heart attack once the street car line is done, and people want to enter her store and support small local businesses. This store is no Mile High Comics, they're going have to relying on more than just online business and comic book pulls of a handful of people to sell enough to stay afloat in this day an age. Very sad and disappointing, honestly. I was really excited to visit my first time.
