counter of bar that was empty aside from one person.

We've seen and heard mixed reviews since Poor Richards Hanford opened so we decided to give it a shot today..... mixed review is best case unfortunately. My wife and I in our younger years both did stints in waiting tables, fast food, retail, and hospitality and unfortunately I don't think anyone here has had any kind of real training in any aspect of the aforementioned areas and it shows. We visited today at 11:40 am Monday 8/3/2026. I actually read the other reviews on here and someone already mentioned the young blonde kid at the bar/counter, not who I would have as the "face of the franchise" as it were. I will assume he is family to ownership because there is no urgency and certainly no worry of performing to any level of service. I will echo the other review in that aspect, we were 2 of 3 people in there who weren't on the clock when we ordered and it seemed like they were put off by having to stop prepping to take our order? Another thing we've heard from multiple friends is how loud it is in there- this CANNOT be understated. I haven't the faintest idea why music needs to be blaring across the 2 speakers in the restaurant along with the TV's playing audio on multiple channels it seemed. I assume this isn't any better when you have a bar and restaurant full of people trying to talk over the music on a busier night vs a Monday morning. One last thing to the speakers- calling out my name for the order in an empty restaurant? Small service minded things like this are lost sometimes but he certainly could've walked our 1 pizza and cup of ranch over, I understand on a busy night that system makes sense, but a slow lunch service is the perfect time to really step up your service to your customers and take a little time to build some positive experiences. I would say this place is definitely family friendly with the little arcade in the back, a shelf of games in the front and a decent amount of larger tables. Flip side of this- it is family friendly- not quite johns incredible pizza, but definitely like an old school pizza hut! My next concern would be the cleanliness of this place, I can tell you almost certainly whoever closed Sunday night cleaned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING- floors, tables, counters, and bar were dirty. more than 1/2 of the table top paper towel holders were empty or damn close. The front door and roll up door windows look like they haven't seen Windex in a hot minute either. The game shelf looks like my kids room right before I ground them for not cleaning their room. I didn't dare approach the bathrooms because based on the rest of the place I assume that would be nightmare fuel. Ceiling fans weren't spinning unfortunately for them so you can see they haven't been wiped down assumedly since before Hop Forged left. Now onto the food. I have heard they get into the weeds pretty quickly on a Saturday night and I can see that being a thing for sure. Today we were probably the first or one of the first orders and our pizza came out in what I would call the perfect amount of time 10/10 for that. We ordered a garlic chicken pizza for reference. When it came to presentation though, not quote sure the "dump everything in the middle" look is one to strive for, but they hit it. The crust is the one true redeeming quality of this place- it is a cracker type crust on bottom, and its tasty with what seems like house made ranch? Otherwise the pizza was unremarkable to say the least. Chicken although precooked was lukewarm at best, and you can judge for yourself by the photo about the doneness of the mushrooms and onions. This would be the only thing that kept this a 2 star vs 1 star review. I truly hope they can turn this around cause we need places like this in town, our downtown is a sad fraction of say Visalia, but we need places like this to stay open and make people want to come here if we have any hope of growing Downtown Hanford. I don't think we will go back any time soon, but hopefully the right people can see reviews like this and make changes!

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It took nearly 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was only lukewarm. Since the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp is served on a skillet, I was expecting it to arrive sizzling hot, but it wasn't. That said, the food itself was good. The chicken and shrimp were cooked well, the seasoning was flavorful, and we enjoyed the taste. I also waited quite a while for drink refills but eventually gave up. Even the tabletop ordering system didn't have our drinks available to reorder, which made things a little more frustrating. Our server, Briana, was friendly, attentive whenever she was able to help, and had a great attitude. My only real disappointment was how slow the overall service was and how long it took for our food to come out. Despite the delays, we still had an okay experience. We'd be willing to come back and give them another chance, though we'll keep our expectations a bit lower next time.

Marrisa and Brie, the two bartenders who work on Friday and Saturday night, are fabulous. Both are very experienced at mixing drinks, and not afraid give you what you paid for. My food has always been very good for a restaurant at this price point, and the service on point. I had the 12 ounce rib eye cooked medium rare with two sides for $26. I usually pay $50 for just the steak in most restaurants in the South Bay and the sides are extra. If you're looking for an $80 meal, go somewhere else, but don't complain when you get the same meal for $30 and the meat is prepared a fraction off.

We had read that they accommodated a lot of RVs and people with U-Haul's, etc., so felt safe staying there for the night. Checked in about 9 PM. Everybody was super helpful. We have our cats with us so we were a little stressed out about how it was going to be, but they made sure that we were comfortable and we were in a really nice, large and clean room. I did think that the property is a little bit dated. They've done a good job with upkeep. The only issue I really had was that when I got out of my car there was a very strong animal smell. I asked at the front desk with that smell was, and they said that it was fertilizer that they applied to the fields that night. It was intense. We got up and we're back on the road by 5 AM. Unfortunately we did not get to try the restaurant although I heard that their steakhouse is excellent. Also, the pool looked really beautiful and clean.

Made a pit stop here at Harris Ranch Resort because we have always been curious about this place…read moreand wanted to eat some steaks from the source. Since it's right next to Interstate 5, it is very convenient for t9ad trips doen California. When I initially looked up the restaurant, I was a bit confused because online it seems that they have 4 different restaurants, and I wasn't sure where they are all located. But we just went and followed the signs that said "Restaurant." When we walked in the main entrance, the first thing we saw was the Country Store. To the right is the Horseshoe Lounge, the Prime Steakhouse in the middle, and Ranch Kitchen is towards the end. I think they also have a barbecue restaurant, but in a separate building. This place is massive. We decided to dine at Ranch Kitchen, where there was a huge group of people sitting right outside. I originally thought they were waiting for a table, but they were all just there for the restroom since this seems to be the place to be for pit stops down I-5. It was around 6 PM on Monday, and we got seated pretty quickly. We ordered the 14 oz. Choice Ribeye (medium rare) and the Country Fried Steak. Both included either baked potatoes or mashed potatoes (we opted for baked) and broccoli and carrots. The ribeye also included either a soup or salad, but given the current scare with the lettuce parasite, I opted for the clam chowder. They start you out with hot bread rolls and some salted whipped butter. The ribeye was very tender and delicious. It was well-seasoned and does not need steak sauce or anything. The country fried steak was quite tasty and comes with a massive amount of gravy, the way I like it. Overall, this was a great stop with great food. The service was amazing and the waiter was very attentive. This will definitely be a regular pit stop of ours.
