Where do I start with this business? I received an estimate for over 16,000 dollars to replaster and replumb my pool. I was advised by Malio I should add an auto filler, as the current filler required me to turn a water knob. Through the process, I was advised I needed a new pool light for $900 and it was requested I pay up to $300 for a post for the timer mechanism that would cost less than $50 in material. At this point, I said no. The office person, Dominic (?), advised me it wasn't as simple as "digging a hole." Now the real issues begin. #1 my pool was leaking day one from fill up. #2 the auto filler pulses and makes noise and causes my water pipes to clang in beat with it's "noise."
When I told Hector my pool was leaking, he advised me it was "evaporation." I have the text exchanges and time stamped videos verifying all this. In less than 12 hours of fill up, my pool was down over 1/2 inch. I told him, as a prior pool owner, a pool will not lose that much water in 40 degree cold weather overnight. Facts. At first, he played it off and said he'd check. In the end, I was right. They had to drain the pool and fix the new light they installed and said that's where it was leaking. Mind you they drained my entire pool less than a week from fill up. They refilled it. Guess what, it was still leaking water. So, they drained it again. Only this time, I received a citation from the city for an illegal drain. I was immediately alerted by the city calling me and I asked the city how this happened. She said they hadn't filed the correct paperwork for the drain. The citation went forward against ME personally and my property. I was angry that they had allowed this situation to happen. They were he professionals supposedly following all the city codes, etc. Turns out the leak was in the newly installed deep end drain. Malio said he would pay the citation and the extra water I would be billed. Still, he can't remove the citation from my property record. And I have to do all the extra leg work with the city.
After this, it becomes apparent that the newly installed auto-filler is not working. Multiple text messages go back and forth. I video multiple times the auto filler making loud noises and my inside pipes pinging along like a symphony. They install a "new auto filler valve", but guess what? It leaks and still makes noises and my pipes ping. I turn off the autofiller and didn't respond to the office email about being satisfied, etc.
The auto filler to this date still doesn't work. My email requesting they fix it or reimburse me the 1800 I paid so I can pay someone else to fix it was replied to with they won't fix it, that it was working fine. They also denied they (Malio) told me he'd pay the water bill. I am disappointed with the service and patriarchal BS I have had to endure with their mistakes. In the the end, I paid over $17,000 for a system that isn't operational as promised via a contract. He made it clear he doesn't want to deal with me because I won't take his or his crews condescension and BS about shoddy workmanship. I am sure the million dollar clients he works with on TikTok don't have to put up with what he makes the working class or women put up with.
If I could give him zero stars, I would. I would recommend you go with a different company if you are looking for honesty and follow through, or if your a woman. They all, with the exception of the female office secretary, treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about, even though I am remodeling an entire house by myself and have been a home owner/pool owner for over 20 years. They have refused to reimburse or fix the autofiller and denied I was promised that the water bill be paid. I was advised they don't "feel comfortable" being here-- this after I told them in an email that I was the uncomfortable one having workers comment about my physical appearance. Way to spin that, Pools Plus. They wonder why I'm upset about all this? read more
