We ended up closing our pool down earlier than we wanted and after taking the cover off a month ago we were greeted with a filthy, green mess. It wasn't easy as the first trip out he spent the better part of the day dissembling and completely cleaning out the pool equipment. There were clogs in several areas from leaves that had blown into the pool and the motor was not running efficiently to move water. In just a few weeks Stefin with Near Southside Pools has the water clear again. Against my better judgement (only because the water was still cold) my son was in the pool this last weekend. Really looking forward to the summer where where will be able to just enjoy the pool and not have to worry about the maintenance.

I'm actually glad I found Pony Express instead. I liked working with Zach the owner. He is easy going and polite and did use his mask when I was around too. I asked for an estimate ahead of time and he had no issues giving one. That made selecting his business over others very easy. He also will let you pay via credit cards or cash/check. Again very easy to work with over others. When Mid Cities Pools never called back on Friday or Saturday, I started worrying about the freeze warnings I heard about coming on Sunday. The one thing I did learn is no one could actually replace the motor on a Sunday, or at least none that would work in the Mid-Cities area. Because of the freeze warning, Zach offered to at least come out and bleed the lines in case of freezing. I felt that was such a cut above others. I ended up not having him do that, but I can tell you that after finding out how few pool repair companies work on a Sunday in a major cities like the DFW area, I was shocked I couldn't pay anyone extra even to do the work. So pray you don't have pool motor issues with a freeze coming on the weekend. I would have given Zach 5 stars if he could have replaced the motor on Sunday. But I would give 4 1/2 if I could. I'm not sure how with Yelp. In the end I found the Pony Express's pricing and the length of time it took for Zach to complete everything to be right on point with what Home advisors and Angie list said it would take. Bottomline around 3 hours of labor(include drive time) with the pump motor ran $535 w/tax. Again, that was at the reasonable rate listed by Home Advisor and Angies List. I had one company price me $1200 and not even for getting it in an emergency on Sunday either. That would just be the price. So as you can see I really looked into finding someone to do the work and for the going rate. Zach was that person. I even plan on having him come back to fix another issue I was starting to have with my automatic chlorination system. He was able to look at it and give me 2 options for fixing it. My pool was installed in 2000 and this is the original system. The motor was more than 10 years old so I knew it would go soon. All in all I'm happy I found a new pool company to use, because even after calling and leaving more than one message for Mid Cities pools(one on Friday at 1pm and one on Saturday too) they finally called back on Monday. They called to say they no longer do pool equipment repairs. If they had a voicemail system and not an old answering machine they might have gotten my message on Friday and called me back ASAP. I left messages on both their phone lines too. Remember this is late November with a freeze warning coming that had me starting to panic. Mid Cities just did nothing during working hours and their machine didn't say they were closed on Friday either just closed over the weekend. I honestly think you will be very happy if you use this company. Zach really was very knowledgeable too. Thanks Zach for a job well done.

The part cost $50 on Amazon AND it took me less than two minutes to replace it! Filter must be cleaned -- $150 -- The pressure gauge wasn't even reading 15 PSI. I cleaned it myself but it didn't need it. Your auto chlorinator is not dissolving the tabs. It needs an evaluation. They want to charge additional fees to see if there is something wrong with it! Chlorine levels are high. WTFF? They say they vacuum every time they come out. Their vacuum is battery operated with a netted BAG! Same thing as the Polaris - it picks up leaves but sprays the dust up into the water for the filter to pick up and leaves your water cloudy (they should be using a hose that connects to the filter).

Watching the pump, filter and everything working perfectly for at least 5 minutes I went in the house because the tech had not brought the vac. to do the pool. 1/2 hour later I realized he was still here and went out to see what was going on. . Within seconds the Jandy valve burst spewing water. He had one in the truck. When the Jandy was replaced all of a sudden the pump was leaking. When the pump was fixed 2 days later all of a sudden the heater was also leaking. Everything had been purring like a kitten and now everything had a leak, even the pressure valve on top of the filter. I have nothing else to say.

Alright? But again, we worked with a sales person and we would not know how to look for that within the sales document. Now a year later, we cannot get in the hot tub unless someone sleeps at the lake house over night and turns it on at 9 am since we cannot turn it on remotely. So, beware of the salesman. Also, at the time of purchase it was 2024, why sell anything without Bluetooth? Also we had to have two pool schools because the first person who arrived did not how to even use our salt hot tub.
