    Tofu burger & fries

A bar with vegan options that taste delicious! Had a tofu burger and fries. From entering the bar, the bouncers were chill which I appreciate. Bartender was attentive and had some suggestions for future vegan choices on the menu. Great jazz music playing on the second floor the night I was there. Looking forward to attending more live music events at the Ponyboy.

Review #77 Ponyboy is an awesome bar and venue, serving crafty drinks and seasonal cocktails .....TBC... (This is a placeholder for my future review as I have a thing with numbers & sometimes have a certain place or concept in mind that goes with a certain number. Yes it's probably weird but I'm a geek like that, lol! I'll come back to do this later but I want to get some reviews going again & need to save #77 for PB)

Good place for happy hours. Good drinks and the happy hour specials are legit. The food is ok. Not terrible, but bar food nonetheless. Servers are pretty cool. A very nice place to go to after work or before a concert next door at the tower theater. Checkout their schedule for live bands upstairs. Heads-up... it will be loud if a band is playing g

First time at Ponyboy was a really good time, especially being surrounded by a mature and mannerly, clientèle. According to the bartender, however, the crowd is always different, based on what kind of show is playing next door. Country-western shows draw cowboys. Rock bands draw headbangers. This was a Friday night, and there was some high-brow, genteel cultural thing happening next door. We came in around 7:15pm just as everyone else was shuffling out. It was nice to have the place all to ourselves for about 2 minutes. But even when the place was packed, it was still warm and friendly. I like going into bars where you can actually hear the person sitting next to you without having to shout. The room was filled with conversation and laughter, and the music was muted in the background, as it should be. Henry made me an excellent rum squeak with Plantation's Original Dark Rum, though Ponyboy offers several other good rums, too. My partner had a gin martini (shaken, not stirred) which he pronounced impeccable upon arrival. We didn't have time for a bite, but the deviled eggs looked especially good. We'll get those next time. Hats off to Henry for making the time we spent at Ponyboy a really happy hour. +++++++++++++++++++++++ Update: I went in again tonight 1-5-2019. Another set of perfect rum squeaks. My partner had an F5 beer made right here in OKC. Ronald did a fine job tending the bar, and Paul was a great side kick. I still didn't have a chance to order those eggs, but I will next time. Put Ponyboy on your list of must-visit bars in OKC. You can thank me later.

I went to Ponyboy for the first time and it was so much fun! I've known about it for a while but was just slacking on actually going to check it out. Well, that all changed last weekend when my brother insisted I stop by. So, we walked in and it was pretty much what I expected... A hip kind of bar on 23rd Street, not all that different than a place like The Bunker Club, just another fun stop for your night out. BUT THEN... We went to check out the upstairs and to my surprise... It was hoppin! The music was bumpin' and people were dancing... Ponyboy kind of reminded me of a mullet... business in the front (downstairs) & a party in the back (upstairs). Yasssss, Ponyboy! What a pleasant surprise! I definitely want to come back!

This small bar has a lot of character! It's named after a character in a novel by S.E. Hinton, "The Outsiders," but the bar itself is more of a nod to Oklahoma than anything. Both the decor and the drinks are unique, and for someone who is visiting from out of town, I really appreciated how warm and welcoming this place was. The bartender was more than happy to recommend cocktails, and even gave me a sample of one of the bitters in a drink I was considering. We ended up spending a lot more time here than originally planned, but cool and cozy bars like this one are rare, so I'm glad we did!

Excellent!!! Surprising gem. Food was amazing and TJ at the bar was perfect!! The spicy blue berry ketchup was unstoppable and the smoked salsa with seasoned chips kept us coming back for more.

Some of our favorite dishes are: the steak, pad Thai, drunken noodles with spaghetti, the tom kha soup, and the mango sticky rice is SO good. My absolute favorite item at this restaurant is the mango sticky rice cocktail. I've literally never had anything like it and it's amazing. When visiting a new Thai place I tend to start with their pad see ew, so I ordered the lunch combo. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. The veggie filling in the egg rolls was interesting. I really grew to like them. I was impressed with the pad see ew. I have a favorite Thai spot near home, and I love their pad see ew. This is the closest I've found in the metro. I really like the flavor it adds when they finish the dish with a good amount of dark soy sauce. The chicken was tender and the vegetables fresh; a definite thumbs up. I understand they spruced up the place, and it's very nice and clean. For being fairly new, they had a good amount of traffic. I'll be back soon.

Walking in, it was dimly lit & it reminded me of a bar Downtown in Tulsa. We found a table (the place got filled up pretty quick afterwards) caddy corner to the bar & we got help quick. My partner ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, a friend of mine ordered some Truffle Fries & a drink that I didn't catch - as for me, I got the Ginger Beer (I don't drink). The Oaxacan Old Fashioned looked nice with the orange peel climbing out of the glass & had a really good aroma (I took a big whiff of it). The ginger beer was a spicy ginger beer & it was really good. With every sip, it was opening up my nostrils, it had some spice to it for sure. I tried my friend's Truffle Fries & it's something I'd order, especially if I wasn't as hungry & wanted a "snack". You can smell the truffle while the taste was real subtle. All in all, the place was chill. It was a nice wind down from leaving an art show & The Collective (I had no clue it turned into a clubbish scene on a Saturday... they were jammin' that night). My friend was a regular there, the individual who served us was super nice & friendly. There was whole menu to explore full of sandwiches, burgers (I want to try the South West Burger along with the Umami Burger) & all kind of other dishes to choose from. As much as I come down to OKC, I still get familiar with the scene more & more - R&J is added to the list of places that I'd return to. Side Note: A friend of my friend stopped by right before my partner & I left. She ordered the Brussel Sprouts and Bacon & in my head, I dove into her plate before she could.

I finally made my way here tonight before a work get together and initially I enjoyed the space and atmosphere. It is very cozy and intimate, and there are not many bars like it in OKC. However, when it came to the bartenders (two from my interaction) and cocktails -- my experience was less than cozy. Long story short, I asked for an espresso martini, a basic drink I know. And I was told as such by both bartenders working, one of which called me 'boring'. They wanted me to try a drink off their menu, and I respect the pride and effort this business put into crafting unique, holiday cocktails. However, none of them spoke to me tonight, and I wanted a run of the mill espresso martini. One bartender asked if I would be willing to try one of their drinks similar to an espresso martini, to which I agreed, however I still did not enjoy and requested a regular (boring and basic) espresso martini. They said they typically avoid making these popular drinks, but made an exception for me. Which is really unfortunate, because it was one of the best espresso martinis I've had in the city. Both bartenders later apologized for their comments, but I'm unsure if they were genuine or trying to save face. All in all, if you're willing to explore untraditional cocktails with a cozy vibe, you should try this place. If you have a simple pallet, that doesn't need to be wowed, it's questionable if you should visit. If this review doesn't get me banned, I may give it another try. Happy drinking!
