The service today was the absolute worst!!! The waitress was very rude and acted as if she did not want to even serve me! She was on the phone the entire time she took my order. She questioned my choice of drink, stating, I've never heard of anyone wanting a shot of gin!". After several minutes of waiting for her to bring my drink, I asked about it and she told me she had already brought it...twice. I informed her it was at the end of the bar then she finally brought it to me with a mumbled apology. There were only about 8 people in there at the time of this incident. These guys play their music way too loud I am trying to sleep and can hear their music 3 houses down and through a brick wall and earplugs and I've now had to file multiple complaints with the police department. Also it's trashy with lots of drunk screaming people. Not cute at all I would recommend one of the cooler bars like Cock of the Walk or other dive bars closer to downtown. If there was a way to put negative stars I would. Unfortunately I have been a huge fan and enjoyed spending my time with friends that I could decompress with after a long day with at this establishment. The downfall is the brother of the owner named Pat. He is inappropriately aggressive when it comes to vaping in the bar. Given the right there is no vaping as a rule but any female or male who is within the line of sight has to deal with the repercussions of an over aggressive male yelling speaking down to someone turning away patrons who have spent long evenings and hard earned money time and time again at this establishment. It is a shame that I was considered banned and in future trespassing because of vaping. I am beyond disappointed and hope my faith in humanity can be restored somehow. read more

Yes it is smoke free. So please come and enjoy. It is a dive bar that is as safe as it is fun. All sorts come here for the same vibe. The jukebox is great and plays every type of music (you can juxtapose rap to slow country and no heads will turn). They show UFC fight and all the big games. This is the sort of place you would hope to find when you visit others towns- and we are lucky enough to have it right here. Staff is friendly and very good at what they do. The crowd is the same (some people just know how to drink and have a good time, right?). I only wish I made it here more often. read more

Sometimes, yo just need a bar. You need a booth, a neon glow, a weird mix of people. Sometimes you need to visit with a dear friend, and have hard conversations, and it's helpful to have it be loud and boisterous all around you so you can unload your concerns and worries and not fear you'll be overheard. Sometimes you just need a Stella, a vodka soda, and a place to sit. We were able to find all of these, late on Friday night, and almost closed the place down. I'm so thankful you can't smoke in here anymore, since I can't go to smoky bars in my advanced age. It might be nicer if you didn't have to worry about being hit by darts while you waited in line. If you are looking for a BAR Sipango is definitely that... You know the kind of night when you just want to hunch over a bar? I don't mean go to a bar to have a good time but go somewhere and truly HUNCH OVER stare at a booze soaked, polyurethane covered wooden surface inches in front of your face and not be bothered? Possibly hear some good tunes on a the juke box that take you back to a different time in your life that you remember with melancholy? Strangely enough I had a variation on one of those nights last night. Not on purpose as I have done in the past but sort of randomly and I was glad Sipango was there. Yes, it was smoky and my eyes will burn in the morning. I will wake up and smell my clothes from last night on the floor, but clothes will wash and eyes will clear and there will be a little spot on the NW corner of 42nd and Western I know that I can go and enjoy a good hunch. The type of nights described above are best enjoyed on weekdays as most bars, Sipango included, can get a little rowdy on weekends. It should also be noted that Sipango has a ping pong table which they actually use to play ping pong on. I can't speak for if it has ever been used for other games but I surely hope not. read more

Positively the worst bar I have been in, in a while. Working in the service industry for almost 30 years in every position, I have not experienced bartenders like these in a very long time. It was my first time in and they completely pissed me off. They really messed up because I am VERY forgiving and a very good tipper. 1st drink...she made the wrong drink. Normally I would have just dealt with it but I ordered diet because sugar is really a problem right now so I just couldn't. Ok fine, not a big deal. My friend handed her my card. My 2nd drink, I went up alone. I was dressed up for a sports bar and not looking like your average patron. Well...I was charged 3.00 more for the same drink. A crap drink. It was 6.00 for the first one which was way to much for this not so great old bar. We are talking a very small whisky diet in those small plastic cups. When she decided to charge me 9.00 on the second one, I was livid. I tipped 4.00 on the first f up. I did nothing wrong but look out of place. I had met the owner so I eventually approached him. I told him what had happened and how unimpressed I was with his bartenders after advising him of my experience. He offered to buy me a drink. I explained it wasn't about money but his bartenders and how that is a huge no no but he still insisted. Well guys, I never got another drink, he never talked to them, and so I take from him that this is there norm and they are ripping people off. The owner spoke of being positive and a good man as he flirted with me and fed me full of crap. Unimpressed. I will not ever be back and I will make sure this is known. Worst experience for real. This has been my favorite watering hole for the last 8 years! It is great to have a non-smoking dive bar in the heart of OKC. They have pool, darts, punching machine, and juke box. Happy hour beers from 12-7pm everyday of the week. Just overall a great neighborhood bar. read more

I'm so done with this place. Every time I decide to give it a shot, I wish I would have just veered my car into a telephone pole on the drive up to the Sip. It's loud...actually, it's obnoxiously loud. I usually like the weird crowds at some of the smaller bars I go to, but this crowd is the wrong kind of weird. The people are either the type that should be seen at a Henry Hudson's, or those rowdy college guys that chest bump and say "brah" after every statement. Also, a bottle...ONE DAMN BOTTLE...of PBR is $4.50. I'm sorry, but I can go a mile down the road to The Drunken Fry and get a PBR and a shot for $5. Good dive bar with ping pong, darts, and pool. Juke box available, but we had trouble with it last visit. The ladies behind the bar are quick, attentive, and courteous--and gorgeous..all of them! The guys that support the ladies are friendly and care about the bar. D-bags happen, but all n all this bar is our go-to. Lots of TVs for sports events. read more

This place has the worst bar staff in the city. The chik with the bright hair and big boobs...don't think you'll get a drink from her unless you're a dude. Their security is a joke. I was being harassed by a super drunk dude who ended up getting physical with me and they didn't even bother to kick him out. Their beer selection is awful and they wildly overcharge for their "drinks" (97% ice 2%mix 1% alcohol). I will never go back here again. Also they apparently opted out of the western avenue improvements so they still look like a total $&*#hole compared to everything else in the neighborhood. The bar seems like it could be fun it has a ping pong and pool table, however it also has a punching meter which only seems to add fuel to the macho clientele that's goes there. The bartenders are very slow and often times rude on top of that. I have yet to go here and not see a fight break out. read more

Sipango's is what it is. It's a rowdy sports bar when there's a game on and it's a happenin' party spot when there's not. It's packed to the brim usually on Friday & Saturday evenings with a fun crowd usually. The jukebox is quality as well. Need more beer though. read more

The two stars sums it up I suppose. It is very meh and I have certainly experienced better, even for dive bars. I somehow end up here with friends every now and then but considering I've found out how much Patrick dislikes it, I probably won't be returning. I thought it was okay before, but after realizing that a bottle of PBR is $4, I was astonished, pissed off even. PBR is usually the cheapest beer you can buy anywhere, and I prefer it to Coors Light or Bud Light, which both were cheaper and made me question their pricing. So I think Sipango gets a bad rap sometimes. Let's state the bad: the crowds are very mixed and it can sometimes get loud and rowdy. They could use more bar staff. The good: everyone has always been nice and welcoming to me and my friends. The drinks are always good when you can get them. The jukebox is one of those touch tunes and they have about any song you are looking for to play. There is a pool and darts and they have big tables that are always nice for groups. I've enjoyed my time or two being at this establishment and would recommend people to stop by if they are perusing the western strip. read more

This is really a bar you go with a group of friends not alone or you might be lonely. For woman it's not the greatest since it's typically filled with men. Mike hires the hottest ladies to tend bar, and they are always clad sparingly! the ping pong table is always a nice option when drinking, and don't be scared to play beer pong, or circle of death on it either, that is totally legal. Really this is the most laid back bar in town, the only thing i have ever seen someone be admonished for is standing in the booth. this isn't a cocktail bar, though they do make a mean cape cod, emphasis on the word mean, they will sneak attack you and leave you in a bad way the following morning. there are beautiful people, 50 year old drunks, hipsters, pretentious twits, and average joes. it is the greatest. if you want a bar to get seriously drunk in, this is it. if you want to play trivia during happy hour, this is it. if you want to have a birthday party, this is it. if you want to meet new people, this is it. the only reason why you wouldn't like it is if you expected it to be something it isn't, it is not pretty, it is not fancy, and it certainly isn't for the cool carpet kids. ~full disclosure, i live two blocks away and can walk home after completely destroying my liver, so that is a part of why i l.o.v.e. love it. read more

Some long-time bartenders are great, but good looks and a nice rack trump bartending skill, if you're looking for a job ladies. Monday afternoon bartender this week (9/22) begrudgingly served me then had to ask how to make a club special. Later, when I asked for some club soda I was given water (with an attitude chaser). Still, it's in the neighborhood where I've lived for over 30 years, has free internet access and allows smoking. It's a trade-off - a fair one, if you can drink what's given to you and stomach the bad service, hateful looks and comments on Monday afternoons. read more
