Ponko 3 piece chicken plate size of chicken

I ordered Ponko 3 piece chicken plate with 2 sides of fries. If it weren't BOGO on Uber eats, I would give it 2 stars . The 3 pieces are small and thin. The OG sauce is nondescript, slight sweet taste, not flavorful at all. The fries had a good texture, nothing exceptional. No chocolate chips in chocolate chip oatmeal cookie, 2 in order. Probably won't try it again.

This was my first time eating at the Marietta Square Market, and I was somewhat overwhelmed with choices when I arrived. I stuck to my guns and settled on Ponko chicken after seeing them featured on an episode of Atlanta Eats. I went with the 3 tenders tossed in OG sauce, fries and rice. It truthfully got better with every bite. I wasn't blown away with my first taste of the chicken, but it got more flavorful as I continued with the meal. The tender absorbed the sauce, and stilled the crisp crunch ( which is my favorite part of a chicken tender). The fries were very crisp, and being a pretty plain Jane eater, I really enjoyed the rice as well. It'll be hard to make a selection on where to eat next time I visit the Marietta Square Market, but Ponko Chicken definitely was a solid choice.

PONKO Chicken is popping up all over the metro area and will have 9 locations by the end of 2022...this particular location sits inside of the Marietta Square Market and is placed right off the main lobby across from Forno and next to Lucky's. PONKO is all about those American Chicken Tenders with a Japanese twist or touch. The menu, while limited, is full of flavor and is heavy on tenders. They have achieved a lighter and crispier tender in my opinion with the breading used and the fact that they fry in rice bran oil instead of the other commonly used oils of canola and corn. The most popular way to enjoy PONKO is through a plate, which comes with your choice of protein, two sides and a dipping sauce. I go this route on occasion getting the OG tenders sided with the house fries and those delish green beans and you can never go wrong with the OG sauce, but that spicy hits right too! In addition to the plate, I have enjoyed the taco...that jalapeno crema is perfection! If you are looking for dessert, while I have never tried, their fresh baked cookies and those cakecups look like they would be the perfect ending to a good meal. Personally I normally save my dessert for the nearby bakery when at MSM, but I definitely should scoop up a cakecup on my next visit! Overall, I enjoy this location of PONKO. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is always tasty and served with relative quickness, so no issues...only tasty chicken!

My tofu taco should have been with slaw on top. You tell me if you see slaw. Enough said!!!!! Plus my fries were cold. No to go napkins I was told to grab some from table where people were eating. Invest in to go napkins !!!!

I dined at the PONKO Chicken that is located in the Marietta Square Market food court. I came here with high expectations from what I've heard from others. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed. I ordered the 5 piece Ponko Chicken and the first thing I noticed was that the sizes are quite small for the price. Secondly, I was hoping to try the Ponko Pickles, but I was told that they were out of pickles, so that was a little disappointing. I ended up getting the fries as my side. They were ok, but nothing special. Overall, I thought the flavor of the chicken was nice. But it seems a little overpriced for what you get and I was unable to try the side I was hoping to try.

Food was very tasty, I got the bowl. With fries and coleslaw. Spicy. Service was quick only took a few minutes to get my order after placing it at the register. Ambiance was okay, it was more in the open. Only things is I wish the tenders were bigger.

Ponko, where have you been all my life? Yes, it's just chicken tenders with panko on the outside but man...PONKO Chicken took it next level. The chicken was moist and tender and the panko breading was perfect per bite. The staff was helpful, friendly, and patient during my recent visit. Also, provided popular recommendations when asked "what's the best thing to order." Definitely get some hot sauce on the side of you want a little kick. The tea/lemonade options are good. They also give you one free refill on them which was an awesome perk. It's a bit on the pricy side when you see the amount that comes with your order (3 tenders) but it was definitely still filling.

My date was raving about this place when I mentioned the chicken places I liked. So we opted to check it out, bc my chicken radar was fully triggered. PONKO resides inside the Marietta Market Square. This place reminds me of Ponce City Market but smaller scale. However, they clearly have lots of options in here, including a full bar area (will have to do separate review on this space). We ordered the PONKO Chicken, PONKO tofu and side of rice, sweet potato fries & salad. It wasn't until my first bite, that I realized how right she was about the chicken here. Probably the second best chicken I've had ever, EVER. South City Kitchen would just barely beat them out. The breading they used on the chicken, the sauce and the tenderness were all perfect. A very sweet, soy-like sauce to it. The tofu was the best I've had. It looked like little French toast dippers you'd see at Burger King. Wow! Let's be honest here, you don't need any additional sauce for the chicken or tofu. I'm a condiment king, so that's saying a lot. The sides were good too, but you come here for the chicken ... that chicken is your entree and dessert all rolled into one. So glad this place was brought to my attention and hope to see more locations around town!

Stopped by to get dessert and the young man at the register was so friendly and told me and my friend about the different flavors of cookies and cakes they had that day. We went with the carrot cake and WOWWW. The best I've ever had! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 10 out 10 hands down! $5 per cup. Well worth it!

5 stars! Had Ponko chicken with FOODA. I was clearly a first timer and the employee made a great recommendation. I told him that I was starving and even questioned if the 3 chicken sticks would be filling. Let me just say that the chicken is delicious and 3 pieces are more than enough. The sticky rice was perfect with a hint of something sweet. Enjoyed the cucumbers on top of the rice too. I have never bragged on potato salad, however it was really good...like bbq potato salad good!! Highly recommend!!

I was about to pass this place by to check out Lucky's next door - but the young man working the counter was just so friendly and engaging, I had to stop. After a brief chat about my recycled handbag - I placed an order for the panko-coated french fries - hoping that they would stand up well to reheating later. (I had already stopped at Grand Champion and Just LoafN). I sampled a few and though not crispy - they were tasty. I oven-heated the fries about 4 hours after purchasing and they were still quite good. My fellow carnivores actually liked these fries best among everything I brought home from my Marietta Food Market trek. I'll definitely stop by again to try more of their offerings. PS - I get that PONKO is a play on the panko-bread crumb thing - but why PONKO and not simply PANKO. I checked out their website - but other than some press kit info and testimonials - I couldn't find any information on the 'Story' tab. They cook in rice bran oil which I had no idea was even a thing!

PONKO Chicken is the latest and newest food stand in Marietta Square Market (as of Jan 2019). It's basically a fast-casual chicken place with Asian influences The menu consist of various chicken dishes like plates (3 pc or 5 pc with 2 sides), sandwiches, tacos, salads, and more. The chicken in breaded, in probably panko breadcrumbs (hence its name) and comes with 3 different flavors: OG, spicy, and BBQ. I tried their 3 piece plate. My sides were rice and sweet potato fries, which cost extra $1 with the plate. For the flavor, I tried all 3. You can mix and match flavors to your liking. The chicken was boneless chicken tenders. They were juicy and crispy. But I didn't like any of the sauces. I guess if I had to choose my favorite sauce, it was the spicy one. But honestly I didn't think any of the sauces tasted good. But they know how to make a good, basic chicken tender though. Why was the sauce bad? I don't know. With its Asian influence, I was expecting some fancy Asian flavors. It needed more umami or whatnot. But it tasted like cheap bbq sauces from fast food places. Oh well. For the side, the rice was just rice with some sauce drizzled on top. The sweet potato fries were your standard sweet potato fries. I wasn't too impressed with the sides I got either. The portions were good. A male adult can be satisfied with a 3 pc and 2 sides plate. If you're really hungry though, 5 pieces might be a good option. After you order, they take your name and you wait for them to call it out. You have to stay near the PONKO chicken stand. They don't have a mic or anything to announce it. So don't go looking for a table. Stay in the vicinity until your food arrives. It's a bit inconvenient to me.

They have a mayo-y ginger dressing similar to yum yum sauce. I prefer vinegar based but it was good! The nigiri had a little flair which I love! And everything was so fresh and soft pieces of fish. Very good quality for this price point! Sashimi had some nice cuts & generous pieces & plate presentation was Instagram ready The bento came with California roll, yakitori stick, tons of veggies, fried rice (+$1 but worth), huge portion of meat of choice, and shumai (or gyoza). This is big enough for 2 small eaters or one big eater. Everything was delicious and we were checked on often Their high chairs are clean & staff were pleasant with the toddler They have specials listed at the front door in tiny font I couldn't read from far away & they also sell jewelry it seems I didn't get a pic of the entire menu because it was multiple books and I didn't realize it We'd definitely come back! However, if there are nearby events or special promotions, finding available parking may be challenging. Customers can park farther away and walk MSM, though. Momoiro is a very popular food vendor in the food hall, and there seems to be a constant line of customers waiting to either order food or to pick up their orders. The menu is rather simple, with categories that include ramen, rice bowls, bao buns, sides, nigiri, drinks and one type of dessert. Customers go to the order counter to order, wait around to pick up their order, then, if they don't do take out, find a place to eat inside or outside the food hall. We waited in a long line, but it took us about 15 minutes of standing in line before we were able to place our orders. Service was patient, quick and efficient, though, and it took us only about 5 minutes for our food to be ready. We didn't walk that many steps away from Momoiro; there was an indoor dining area tucked away in the back away from the main dining area, and there were lots of empty tables that filled up quickly after we sat down. I dug into my delicious Tonkotsu Ramen, which included chashu pork, pork base, pork broth, scallions, nori, blackened garlic oil, fried garlic and seasoned egg. All of the flavors and textures complemented each other, and the ramen was cooked perfectly. I loved the taste of the chashu pork, but I wish that it was cooked just a little more. The egg was cooked perfectly to that fine point when the yolk has that just slightly jelled consistency that melts in your mouth. This dish had a good tasting broth. R enjoyed his Beef Don rice bowl, which included beef, steamed white rice, pickled cucumber and radish, scallions, bok choy, fried garlic, nori and seasoned egg. I also shared with R a spam onigiri that was a rice ball with a slice of spam all wrapped with nori seaweed. This was ok; the sauce used in it was just a little sweeter than I prefer. All portion amounts were good. We rarely make it to this part of Marietta, but we would return to Momoiro Ramen for the food.

I've been to this place twice and each time delivered! Both times I've eaten here I've gotten the Hibachi Chicken, large and half sizes, with a side of the veggie egg rolls. First let's talk about the egg rolls; they didn't taste frozen or store bought, and if they were, they did an amazing job of making them delicious. They had a ginger kick to them that I loved and they were a nice size portion. The price wasn't bad either like $5 for two. The Hibachi Chicken is tasty; no mucky or overcooked rice, seasoned chicken, hefty and flavorful serving of veggies, nothing to complain about especially for the price! The half size is like $11 and the full is $14 rounded up, and you get a ton of food for the price! My mom ordered the shrimp fried rice and wasn't too impressed. It was a nice sized serving from the picture and what I saw but I can't judge the taste considering I didn't eat any but it looked good. She's picky so I can't really properly assess the fried rice lol I can't give the place 5 stars because I haven't experience the restaurant to its entirety. However, the service is always good even with the cashiers at the window when I go being young, the restaurant appears clean in the inside from what I can see sitting in my bar, and the parking lot isn't trashy. It looks sketch but it's not lol. Overall good food and experiences. I'm going back to try that Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, their Veggie Fried Rice, and their chicken wings! They have a drive-thru, you can't beat that!
