So, like any faithful Apple guy would, I took it to "that" store in the corner of the Sherman Oaks Westfield mall. They kept it overnight, only to tell me that it was un-fixable, and perhaps I should consider buying a new iPhone12. I didn't have $1,000 burning a hole in my pocket, so walked over to the Magic Fix kiosk. Vusal was confident (and professional and friendly too) that he could replace the display and that it would work again. I asked him to also replace the battery which was not holding a charge for very long anymore. Thirty minutes, and about $200 later, he presented it to me in good working order.
