    Stained shoe
    Adam K.

I would recommend this shoe doctor in the Sherman Oaks Mall. I stained a pair of leather shoes with an oil stain and after trying a couple of online at-home solutions where I want able to remove the stain, I decided to bring it to this location to get the stain cleaned. He was upfront with me that there was a chance the stain wouldn't come out, and the price and time frame were reasonable. I came back when he said they would be done and they looked like new. Stain completely gone (I've attached pictures below). Reasonable prices, reasonable turn around, and good quality service.

AFTER...cleaning and dying black for this repair

These professionals have been cleaning and renewing my leather dress work shoes for years, but decided to try them for tennis shoes a few years back and have been completely satisfied... Especially after this! I was at first a frustrated customer of Ebay's authenticity guarantee when this new pair of shoes somehow slipped by the process of ad description of being new, when in fact, these were somehow unused, but soiled and damaged. Being that I have gone to these guys for about 10 years now as of 2024, I decided to bring this challenging pair by. First stage was cleaning... picked them up, looked great... Set them in my closet... let them marinate in a natural environment... My closet... Lo and behold... the oil residue just seemed to overtake the cleaning after a week or two. So I brought them back for a second look. They suggested dying the shoe. Immediately I was concerned about the red logo being dyed, but they assured me that logo and non-leather parts would be taped off or excluded from the dying process. To further assure me of their professionalism, they credited the cleaning and gave me that discount towards the dying , since I already paid for a cleaning, to try this process next. I got these shoes back... like I did after the first cleaning, and just set them aside for a few weeks to see if the oil or whatever was soiled on the shoe would come back. It didn't!!!... I am so amazed, threw on the laces and had to take a picture of the before and after. For most of the 10 years, they were cleaning my several hundred dollar, even thousand dollar designer formal dress shoes, and now I can say they have also mastered high end sneakers!

    After!!! They are white again!!!!!!

INCREDIBLE WORK!!! Amazing costumer service They should call it "Dr saves your shoes!" I have been going to this place for awhile now and I had to share the latest shoe repair they did. My wedding shoes looked like I played in a soccer match. Here are the before after photos! Best place in town!

Previously, I would take my shoes to a lil shoe cobbler at The Grove, and now am considering returning. He was always thoughtful, introspective and kind. And above it all wholly knew how to retrieve paint stains from my YSL vintage boots. Boots are leather and I'm not into that BUT if they are vintage, and pre-loved, it's sustainable. Oh yes, where was I, this shoe shop is efficient and it's located at the mall. However, the customer service is null, as in completely absent from our planet Earth. If you're in a hurry and need to have the heel of yr boot replaced, that's a conundrum that must be addressed. However, if you are accustomed to pleasantries such as cordial banter, this may be not for you or for me. I may just YouTube this minor shoe repair myself, and purchase the heels replacements from amazon for a lil fun DIY project bc why not be more efficient? Right.

Don't just even walk into this Shoes Doctor store!!

It was my first visit on this store and I had a bad bad experience want to share. People who love and alway taking a good care of your shoes please don't come in this shop seriously! There is unprofessional, a zero percent of service mind, and bad attitude staff. Even there is pretty cheap price but he will do the cheap product and bad service to you!. I brought my designer shoes. Its cost almost $1000 and want to do a sole protection, the man who take my service was so rough, he threw my brand new shoes which I just bought one day before in the box thoughtlessly as a trash! I can't believe it! My shoes already has a scratch! It's hurt me so much then I decided not to do any services with this shop and never go back here again forever!

Terrific and convenient location, great work (replacement of heels on men's dress shoes) and friendly service.

Paid $50 to have a protective layer on the sole of my shoe and it started peeling off after 2 wears. Not worth it.

This review is from a poor experience at Lou's shoe repair…read more First & foremost, this is my second time obtaining service from Lou. This review is solely speaking on my second experience. My ask: To simply adjust a thick cotton belt, stitch the end with yarn, and relocate a rectangle PVC patch. The result: A distorted PVC patch and an additional foreign leather patch sewn at the end. I did not ask for it, not to mention it was glued and cut horribly. It had a jagged cut and the stitching was not even placed correctly. It was horrendous and purely unacceptable. Customer service resulting from this result: First attempt - when my gf came to pick it up for me, she noticed the jagged cut from the foreign leather material (at the end of the belt where it was cut), she took a video of it and sent it to me. She then kindly asked Lou if he could fix/ cut it straight. He began to raise his voice and claim he would not. She replied she would not pay full price for the work. He yelled at her, took away my pick-up ticket, and grabbed the belt from her hands. She 'Face Timed' me immediately as I was in the office. He told her that she needed to pay full price and that I needed to come in now for pick up. I tried to reason with him. It was rude and completely unprofessional. I called him the next day. He agreed to fix the jagged leather edge and re-stitch the PVC patch since it was crooked. Second attempt - I came back and nothing was fixed. He had taken everything off and gave me my belt back unfinished. Integrity: Zero because Lou's detail to craftsmanship (final result) and how you treat customers lack tremendously. If the result wasn't what was promised, finish it to completion. Make it right to the best of your abilities so you'll have long lasting customers. Conclusion: I have wasted the most important thing in life, "time." Two trips and I left with a product/result that wasn't complete. Now I have to find another tailor that will complete this job. Extremely disappointed for the mistreatment and poor ability to simply listen and make it right for a paying customer (a repeat customer). I want and love to support small businesses but this is the last experience I would ever want to go through again.
