It was time for new tires! I recently moved to Strafford, Mo. I wanted to find a tire shop that could take care of my tire needs in the local town I now live in I went to pomp's because I had a bad tire They were pretty quick to find a new tire that would replace the damaged one After I got a new tire, I now had a new vibration that I hadn't had before I thought maybe is was mismatched tires, so I went back to pomp's and got another tire so I had a matching pair The vibration continued I took the van back The pomp's tire service mechanic said that the tires weren't balanced Even the two new ones were quite out of balance After they balanced the tires, the vibration continued I complained, and was told by pomp's that I would have to take them off and put different ones on or buy two others so they could send the tires back to the manufacturer for inspection. what a hassle! I decided to buy a whole new set Good year tires that I had on the van originally Well, guess what ? They couldn't get the same series! I got another set they claimed were equal or better Got new tires on yay! Not so much! Vibration is still there I dealt with it because I thought maybe it was something else mechanical I took the van to a shop that has been very good to me to resolve other issues and to find out why I continue to have a vibration Low and behold,! The tires are apparently out of round enough to cause a vibration as written in their documentation I call Pomp's to schedule an appointment They don't do appointments You drop your vehicle off as soon as you possibly can to be sure pomp's will address your vehicle that same day I did this early about 8 Near 4 pm, I hadn't heard anything from pomp's, so I called Sara, the office lady, friendly enough explains to me that the tires were out of balance but other than that, they were fine Now mind you, I just had balancing done 4 days prior with a totally different diagnosis Guess what, it's not really their problem These tires need to be sent in to the mfg for their diagnosis which means I have to buy another set of tire They absolutely did not not offer anything other than it's not their fault or problem So I'm stuck with a crappy set of tires or I can spend another $700-$800 for yet another set I think this set that I have might have less than 6-7k miles on them with the vibration never going away with multiple diagnosis and multiple balances Wanna go to pomp's, think twice!!!! read more
