For 5 years we've had BTP spray in Spring for Winter Moths--the "inchworms" that ate my Apple blossoms in April and savage Maples, Lindens, and Elms in May. Calling earlier got us sprayed earlier, when worms were smaller and easier to kill organically. Pre-paying in January at a discount also gets you earlier on the list. Do it. New trucks and diligent crews--often led by a top boss or arborist. In 2018, BTP came early to spray just my Apples in April (blossoms are vulnerable when it is too early to spray the other trees) and today came back to spray the Maples and Elm. This "custom" service--and having apples for the first time in years--is what inspired me to write it all out in a review. Better still, they also offer fall spray of Cedar oil that organically camouflages trees to make the egg-laying Winter Moth swarm not lay eggs in the first place. Thanks to Fall 2017 spraying, in 2018, most leaves emerged without the telltale "first bites", and then organic spraying did the rest. I might try and do repellant-only it worked so well. NOTE: another reviewer said, in 2012, as if it were a bad thing, "They didn't spray for Winter Moths until Spring". Actually, spraying at budding time is the only way to do organic toxins: Moth inchworms have to EAT the toxin, and the eggs evolved to hatch & eat as a bud starts opening-- that's a nerve-wracking phase, but exactly right. Starting in 2017, the Cedar REPELLANT is offered for November to disguise a tree and keep the mother moths from laying their eggs. There is nothing to be done between when eggs are laid (Thanksgiving) and when the buds have opened (Spring). In between the egg is dug-in and dormant. Timing is everything.

At the start of the Monday morning a crew was here setting up a giant crane and chipper. The tree was expertly picked up from the back - swung over the house and into the chipper area. All the mess was quickly removed and big logs set aside. A few hours later a second team arrived to remove all the large logs and remaining trunk. Site was perfectly clean and cut to below grade. I noticed ASAP Tree Care working in the area and also received a recommendation from a friend, so I gave them a call for an estimate. I got a prompt callback with a scheduled site visit. When the owner arrived, he assessed the tree's condition and provided a verbal estimate on the spot, which I later approved. He followed up with a written estimate, and payment was due upon completion--no deposit required. During our conversation, he mentioned multiple times that he was a retired Marine, and it was clear he took great pride in that. On the day of the job, he ran into some traffic delays but gave me a heads-up, which I appreciated. When he arrived with his crew, they brought an aerial bucket truck and a wood chipper, making quick work of removing the tree. While there, he also pruned another tree about 20 feet away. The cleanup was excellent--the site was left in better condition than he found it. I even had him head to another property down the street to trim a tree there. Impressively, both jobs were completed in under two hours. His professionalism, efficiency, and fair pricing really stood out. Ed had appeared at my door this Winter unannounced soliciting work to address problem trees on my property. Since I had used Ed in the past and was satisfied with the results I thought I could trust him again. The price was reasonable and was to include clean up of all debris from the job site. The work was performed promptly however the debris was never removed as agreed on the work order. I have been waiting about two Months now for this mess to be cleaned up with no results. I have called Ed multiple times for follow up and keep getting sidelined. I understand equipment failures do occur but having left this mess for me after the service had been paid for is unacceptable. If this is Ed's model for doing business I would not recommend him further.
