Best grilled chicken I have ever had! Actually everything is sooo delicious. So glad we found this place on Yelp. Just wish it was closer to our house. read more

I ordered the carne asada burrito which was good, just not $9 worth of good. The beans and rice in the burrito while not bad pretty much ensured the meat and pico got lost. All that being said I'll give the place another shot but most likely not for a burrito unless I do it without beans and rice. read more

We were looking for something quick and different for dinner tonight my boyfriend found Pollos LaChuya on yelp and we decided to try it the prices are great - we got a half chicken with two sides (beans & mashed potatoes) as well as 2 pieces of grilled pineapple. The chicken was amazingly good (way better than el pollo loco) lots of flavor and spices same with the beans and mashed potatoes good flavor. Even the tortillas were good not dry and falling apart. The pineapple was cut off a fresh pineapple not out of a can ( sooo good). We couldn't eat in as this stupid Covid19 thing but the lobby is super cute and looked like it would be fun to eat there too. read more

This is some of the best Mexican food in the far east valley. This is got to be great grandma's recipe. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pollo and carne Asada tacos were just amazing. Three types of salsa all great. Everything is cooked over an open charcoal grill. And these are not small tiny street tacos. They're good size tacos and well worth the money. My eight and 10-year-old destroyed the tacos. Definitely on the top portion of my list going forward. read more

Pollos LaChuya has never let me down, period. If I didn't live 30 minutes away I'd probably be there daily. If you can judge how good a Mexican restaurant by how many of the patrons are Latin then this place tops the list. read more

I can't say enough about how great the food! I order the full chicken and pound of carne asada for small get together's. I do the half order of chicken for myself and a friend. AMAZING! read more

Pollos LaChuya - Plato Campechano! - Mexican Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

Tucked away but excellent food. Plato Campechano is excellent!

I love this place. Found them on Groupon and get them about once a month. Amazing food and friendly staff.

In an area filled with Mexican food, this shop stands out. Let's be honest, AZ is littered with subpar Mexican food. Pollos LaChuya has phenomenal pollo and carne asada. This is my first visit and certainly won't be my last. Ingredients are fresh, veggies are bright, chicken hot off the grill. This is comfort food the way it should be. Now all I have to do is convince them to open up a Gilbert location. I'd recommend getting the pollo burrito, squeeze some lime and spoon in the delicious salsa. Nothing short of amazing. read more

Hands down a secret gem in Meza, authentic cooked food on a charcoal grill. They serve bottles of soda as drinks and aguas frescas. You can order to go or pick up and get it to eat in. Awesome energy and the service is top notch. A mom and pop establishment with great owners; come and look for your self and you will not be let down. Anything off of the menu you will love and their salsa has many on their toes. Great for wedding or and any events as well no hesitations on coming here when in town. read more

Loved the marinated grilled chicken and carne asada. I came twice this week. I give it 5 stars for the food and service is ecvellent. You can order through grubhub. and takeout over the phone. Definitely great food like mommas cooking! Will be back soon! read more

I was so excited to try this place after seeing all the 5 star reviews but I was quickly let down. I ordered the chicken which came with rice and beans. The chicken had great flavor but it was sooo dry unfortunately. It felt like I was eating chicken flavored gum because I just kept chewing and chewing and chewing trying to get it down. The rice came in a cup and the middle of the cup of rice was cold in the center. The beans were not flavorful at all. Just watered down beans. Nothing special. Not even salted. The pickled onions were great. But I won't be back for pickled onions alone. It was a lot of food for the money but the quality was lacking. I just wish the chicken was juicy and not dry/chewy. Ugh! I really wanted to like this place. read more

This is probably my 4th time having their food. The previous times were all delivery. I had the day off work and decided I'd make a stop to my favorite chicken spot. Upon entering I was immediately greeted and my order was taken and placed. I was able to sit down and catch some Spanish TV while I waited. Though I don't know any Spanish I love the ambience it gives off as it reminds me of my grandparents watching their Spanish news. :) Can't think of a better place to come and grab some amazing food by and family who really takes pride in what they do. Keep on being amazing guys!!! read more

Good pollo good service can feed the whole family for less than you can purchase and cook yourself.

Pollos La Chuya is a small family-owned restaurant tucked away in the corner of a busy shopping center and featuring a short but highly perfected menu. They serve mesquite grilled pollo and carne asada with traditional sides and trimmings. The owners are welcoming and quick to make recommendations. They suggested the plato campechano, and I'm glad they did since that meant we didn't have to choose between the chicken or the beef. Both were wonderful, the flavorful marinades and smoke mingling perfectly in the meat. For $15.99, the plato campechano comes loaded with tasty sides--too many to list here--and could easily feed two hungry adults. I also added on a side order of grilled pineapple (just $.75!), and was very happy for it. Please don't come here expecting fast casual. This isn't Chipotle--there will be no heating trays of pre-made food in sight. Miracles take time, in this case about ten minutes to prepare your order, but your patience will be greatly rewarded. The restaurant is clean and cheerful, or you can call ahead to order takeout. Pollos La Chuya is a hidden treasure, the kind of friendly neighborhood spot anybody would want in their backyard, and it is well worth seeking out. read more

We live right next door to this diamond in the rough, we could smell the deliciousness from our home. We just had to stop by, it's a small place but it packs a huge flavor. We had an order and a half order of the meat it was delicious the beans were AWESOME *come included. The salsa was so tasty , needless to say we aren't going anywhere else for Mexican food, oh and did I mention the flour tortillas are home made? Check them out you will be back I know we will! This was as good as all of the reviews. I have been eating this style of mesquite grilled meats for decades and this is the real deal. We stopped by to check the talked about chicken and WOW!! was said after the first bite. Our friends who are here from Texas loved the chicken and the grilled sides. I do not live in the area but will make the drive on a regular basis to get the yum from this place..Simple menu huge flavor. Not to forget to mention, the young lady at the front who greeted us and took our order is genuinely nice and made helpful suggestions on the amounts of chicken we were ordering.. read more

Transplant from Texas and was missing my pollos asados. Pollos LaChuya is my new pollos spot. The chicken is well seasoned, juicy and grilled perfectly. The rice reminds me of home and the salsa compliments the meal perfectly. I couldn't leave without trying a carne asada taco so I got one in addition to my 1/4 pollo asado. Wow! The carne was tender and flavorful. Add some lime and salsa and you have a perfect taco. Overall this is the best value you can get for $10. I can't believe it. I also heard they have $4 chicken fajita nachos on Monday. Ask for Angel and tell him Sergio from Tx sent you. read more

The best el carbon/charcoal grilled food you can get in town. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. Even my 17 month old goes to town on the chicken, beans, and rice. My husband always orders the carne asada burrito. Super good stuff! read more

We LOVE the food at Pollos LaChuya! Great burritos! Good amount of food for the price as well!

Kept driving past this place saying I need to stop there and eat. Well finally took the family. I will stop here in the future instead of driving past. Great food. Tried both the pollo and carne asada. Both were great, preferred the carne asada. Large burritos. Fantastic tortillas. Fresh guacamole and salsa. Meat is mesquite grilled in the restaurant. Super great Asada burros. The hot sauces have a lot of flavor. A little bit of a wait but well worth it. Call ahead to pick up, saves time!!

Delicious chicken and carne asada. I love ordering a whole chicken or the quesadilla with meats. The salsa is also excellent. Their sides are lacking - not good beans or rice or potato salad in my opinion. But if you order just a quesadilla or taco or whole chicken, then you'll love it!! read more

Pretty flavorful chicken and delicious carne asada! I highly recommend going there! I got a quarter chicken and 1 carne asada taco which was more than enough for one person! I'll definitely be going back. read more

I must say this food is delicious. My favorite is the chicken. Grilled Mexican style and juicy not dry at all. It comes with grilled jalapeños, a slice of pineapple, and a large grilled green onion. Some of the best I've had in years. Beans and rice are good too. Hate to say it but definitely way better than Pollo Loco. read more

Very authentic Mexican food. Very flavorful! The beans from the pot are delicious! The manager is very warm and friendly. We'll definitely come back. 7/29-Another great visit to Pollos LaChuya. Great find. Food exceeded my expectations! Service was fast and friendly. Not busy when we got there but it appears they do quite a few to-go orders. Our food arrive to our table 3-5 minutes after we placed our order. Food was flavorful, the chicken was grilled to perfection and the carne asada was good too, if undecided go with the chicken. The sides are good too (our oder came with guacamole-made from real avocado, fresh pico de Gallo, salsa, and beans)...beans and tortillas were some what on the cold side, I like my beans and tortillas hot, but that's just my preference. The last thing we tried was the grilled pineapple - tasty and sweet, but pricey(one slice for $0.75). Overall, good place and reasonable prices, I will return. read more
