What really sets this place apart is the outstanding customer service, the staff is welcoming, attentive, and treats every customer really nicely. This was our very first stop after crossing the border into Mexico, and it absolutely lived up to…read morethe hype. It came highly recommended by both locals and fellow food lovers, and after seeing the incredible reviews, we knew we had to experience it for ourselves. We ordered a little bit of everything: tacos de tripa, tacos al pastor, tacos de asada, and an asada quesadilla. Every single item was packed with flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The tripas were perfectly crispy without being greasy, the al pastor was juicy, well-seasoned, and had that classic balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors, and the asada was tender with a delicious char-grilled flavor. The asada quesadilla was generously filled with meat and gooey melted cheese, making it the perfect complement to the tacos. One thing I really appreciated was how convenient the ordering process is. They have a drive-through style setup where you simply pull up and park in front of the restaurant. An employee comes directly to your car to take your order, and once your food is ready, they bring it right out to you. It's such an easy and efficient experience, especially if you're eager to grab amazing food and get back on the road. It's easy to see why this place has earned such a stellar reputation. Between the authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and convenient setup, this was the perfect way to kick off our trip into Mexico. I'll definitely be making this a tradition every time I cross the border.

I visited this niche restaurant only after it moved to the new location (adjacent to previous…read morelocation) in the Plaza Alameda town center type complex. I didn't have high expectations since I hadn't tasted this Mexican-Caribbean type cousine before. I left promising to return. The restaurant is on a second story area of the Plaza and shares the space with a mexican style seafood joint and a sushi place. They have elevators and it is wheelchair accessible. The decor is impressive and they even have a small shop that sells Yucatan region's clothes and souvenirs. A very talented older gentleman in a panama style hat was crooning old and new romantic songs and playing beautifully his guitar. We were greeted with an open door and allowed to chose our table. Drinks came quick and we set at deciphering the menu. Their Maya language menu items are a challenge for anyone to translate but a helpul description of the dish is printed in Spanish below. Like, I learned that poc is pork and featured in many dishes but I went for a fish entree recommended by the waiter instead. We also shared a grilled chicken salad. Our very good waiter suggested a grilled pargo fish fillet. It came wrapped in a banana leaf and was sauteed in a tomato onion salsa with shrimp and scallops. It was accompanied by fluffy spanish rice and a roasted tomatoes green salad. The chicken salad had thin slices of breast meat. tender and flavorful. The salad dressing was delicious too. Overall a great evening out and only cost about 20 per person including drinks and tip.

When entering the restaurant, you are kindly greeted and notice a really unique, rustic decor. The music is really soothing, the type you are able to have a nice conversation without letting it disturbing you. The menu has a variety of plates which are unique to the southern region of Mexico, more specifically Yucatan. I personally tried the "empanadas de bola de queso" and "cochinita pibil". I finished it off with an anise liqueur called Xtabentún which was surprisingly smooth. Needless to say, everything was delicious.. If you are looking for traditional Mexican plates that are different from the typical tacos, burritos, tortas, etc... then this place is perfect for the occasion.
