I came here on a weeknight to redeem a free meal. It was not crowded, but they had a couple people inside. There was quite a bit of staff for it not being packed. I got a rotisserie half chicken with some sides. And honestly, it was good. Ordering was easy at the counter and food came out quick. I ordered two large chicken soups because I'm sick and really needed some soup and a small order of plantains. I get home very much looking forward to eat my soup which I've had from PolloTropical before and it was actually soup. What I got was a thick, nasty potato mush mess. It is disgusting un edible. I just threw my incomplete food order away even the plantains were disgusting. The food was un edible. It was just 12 PM and there was a line starting to form only one person at the register and I waited approximately 20 minutes to take my order and then over 25 minutes to get my grilled chicken. First going to Pollo tropical and having to wait almost an hour is ridiculous. Second when I got my chicken I ordered a half chicken. It was a tiny breast a leg, a wing and a tie the wing was disgusting and the thigh was basically just bone and a little bit of skin with no meat. Absolutely disgusting. Our experience at this Pollo Tropical location was not good at all. From the moment we walked in, the associates didn't even look at us, didn't greet us, and overall were very unprofessional. When we got home, we realized our order was missing one piece of chicken, the plantains, and the pork on one side. We had to drive back to return the food, and although they replaced the order, the chicken pieces were extremely small. I'm not sure if this is a new change from the store in general or if it's just this specific location. The only pleasant person we encountered was one male employee in the kitchen -- not the cashier. When I first walk in here was a huge scent of roasted chicken. after ordering there is a dipping sauce bar with many different sauces. My most favorite one is pollo pollo (spicy), and the pineapple one. We ordered two whole chicken with rice and beans, a side of corn, side of rolls and a large side of plantains. The chicken was super moist and yummy. The chicken was lacking a bit of flavor but it was nothing after added the sauces. The rice and beans wasn't that great but it was good carbs to go with the chicken. The corn was ok, nothing special. The large side of plantains was good. The rating for this place is accurate. Food is good, but service is 1 star at best. I have frequented this place over the past few years and the food is always good. However, the staff is 50% atrocious because 50% of the time the order is wrong- I mean completely wrong. If you catch it and ask for it to be fixed, you get an attitude and still get the wrong meal. While the food is good, the service is awful. My husband ordered us 2 tropichops, yuca fries and multiple sauces. I try to stay away from fast food. But every now and then the urge strikes. I live in Coral Springs & the Pollo Tropical near me is just gross. However, I really like the Delray Pollo Tropical & since I was craving yellow rice & I was visiting a friend in Delray I decided to satisfy my craving. I have been to this location several times over the last few years. The inside is usually clean & the employees have always been friendly. Every time I have been inside this restaurant an employee has been tidying up the "sauce & condiment" bar which I love. Lets face it, people can be disgusting. I really appreciate that they keep this area clean. I love love love the curry mustard sauce. And I would hate to see it mixed in with another sauce because people can be sloppy & just are careless. This happens all the time in the Coral Springs store. Disgusting. Last night I went through the drive thru. The order taker was a little confused but our order was perfect with no mistakes. I ordered the small bowl with yellow rice, black beans and chicken. The small bowl is pretty large & a great deal at less than five bucks. My food was fresh and hot & very good. No complaints. The chicken was very moist and the black beans were tasty. I was actually surprised at all the veggies in the rice. Peas, carrots, onions & broccoli were all mixed in with the yellow rice & the rice was fresh & not clumpy at all. Delicious. I would recommend this Pollo Tropical because it is clean, the employees are nice & the food is good. It's also a great value since their prices are pretty reasonable. My tip would be to try the curry mustard. I think it's incredible. read more
