We are now big fans of Pollo Regio and glad they have chains of these. We tried the Garland location, but it was very salty even for me. But I was craving the sauce again and needed this for the meat and pita bread we bought. This location is smaller compared to the Rockwall location. I ordered the Al Pastor plate which is $16.99. They do give you a lot of food for the price. The beans and rice was good. The Al Pastor was very moist and juicy. The place was clean as well. I enjoyed this place. read more

Tried this place out for the first time based on a couple of recommendations from acquaintances. I ordered the roasted half chicken that comes with rice and boracho beans and split it with my husband. I'd have to admit that it was really good - especially the rice and beans (which I'm very picky about). The rice and beans were as good as you would expect to get at a "good" Mexican restaurant. We were still a bit hungry after we finished our meal so we ordered the chicken quesadillas. They were OK but seemed to lack flavor so won't be ordering those again but I definitely want to try out some of their other menu offerings next time I'm in the mood for chicken. One thing I will give them extremely high marks on is CLEANLINESS! There was someone mopping the floors when we stopped in around 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. The place smelled "clean" and all the tables were wiped down and also clean which is a big deal in my book. I went to a different restaurant the other day in Plano (not a Pollo Regio), where all the tables were dirty and the floor was sticky and disgusting so walking into this establishment in Rockwall was like a breath of fresh air. I am beyond disappointed at Pollo Regio. I use to frequent the Mesquite location at least three times a month but today will be my last time. I ordered the chicken soup and the only vegetables in the soup were huge chunks of potatoes along with a ton of tomatoes and celery. They need to call this broth instead of chicken soup because it contained maybe 5 cubes of chicken that almost looked like they were charged. The soup tasted only like celery, onion and salt. I just threw it in the garbage disposal. Their customer service has also taken a hit. The young lady (who's name I won't mention) kept giving me the incorrect order. I am highly upset at this location and from now on I will be taking my business to Cuquitas in Garland. The salsa bar with salsa, pickled onions, cabbage with jalapeño and seasoning, guacamole and chips is something you must try. My husband ordered from the location in Mesquite, however they use DoorDash to deliver. Not a bad ordeal except they have no way of tracking the delivery person. Then DoorDash has no way of tracking the order because guess what??? You don't have a DoorDash account because you ordered THROUGH THE RESTAURANT'S APP. So basically someone is eating people's food and the company is charging you and no one wants to help the customer who's out of money for an order they NEVER RECEIVED. DoorDash stated that the restaurant is responsible for issuing a refund. Yet this location is acting stuck on stupid like they can't do anything.
